Was Not The Apocalypse! But When Is It?

When asked by a number of people if the Mayan
prediction was going to come true for the end of the world to occur on 12/21/12
my answer was “What makes you think the Mayans could predict
the end of the world if they could not even predict their own demise?” Likely they simply ran out of space in the
scribbling of their calendar on their cave walls. But is there any reliable source of
information about when the Apocalypse will occur? Yes there is.
The Bible prophecies have been accurate all through history so it is our
only source of reliable prophecy regarding the end times. If you want information on how close we are
to the end you need look no further than what Jesus told His disciples when
asked that very question in Matthew 24.
Let’s take a look at that answer and check off what has already been
occurring and leave blank what is yet to come.
24 1Jesus came out from the temple and was going away when His
disciples came up to point out the temple buildings to Him. 2 And
He said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, not one
stone here will be left upon another, which will not be torn down.3 As
He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately,
saying, “Tell us, when will these things
happen, and what will be the
sign of Your coming, and of the [b]end of the age?”
4 And Jesus answered and said to them, “See to it that no one
misleads you. 5 For many
will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the [c]Christ,’ and will mislead many. √
6 You will be hearing of wars
and rumors of wars. √ See that you
are not frightened, for those things
must take place, but that is
not yet the end.
7 For nation will rise
against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, √
and in
various places there will be famines and
earthquakes. √ 8 But
all these things are merely the
beginning of birth pangs.
9 “Then they will
deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all
nations because of My name. √
10 At that time many
will [d]fall away and will [e]betray one another and hate one another.
√
11 Many
false prophets will arise and will mislead many. √
12 Because lawlessness
is increased, [f]most people’s love will grow cold. √ 13 But
the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.
14 This
gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole [g]world as a testimony to all the nations, √ and then the end will come.
15 “Therefore
when you see the abomination of desolation which was spoken of through
Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), 16 then
those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains. (no

How
close are we to the end? Very
close! Only one of these facts laid out by the Lord has yet to be fulfilled. The third temple has yet to be rebuilt where
the antichrist will set up the image of himself and
declare himself to be “God”. Don’t let
people fool you into thinking this was completely fulfilled in 70 AD. That was only a foreshadowing of the final AntiChrist. The fact
of the matter is that when the antichrist blasphemes in his declaration in the third
temple it will cause the Jews who are left to finally recognize that the
antichrist is not the Christ but instead Jesus Christ is the Messiah. This did not happen in 70 AD and is yet to
happen in the not too distant future.
So
keep your eyes “peeled” for a peace treaty to be cooked up by a world leader
which will fail, but during that time the third temple will be rebuilt. When you see that happening, you will know
the end it truly near. No need for a
plethora of false prophets to make ridiculous predictions. We have the sure Word of God to rely on (2
Pet. 1:19) regarding when the beginning of the end is near.
