Dear All,

May the Lord bless and keep you!  Don't miss our new book called "Idolatry In Their Hearts".  Every Christian leader needs to read this book!

FEATURE

The feature for this newsletter is The New Prophets And Apostles and Superstition by Sandy Simpson, 5/22/07. False prophets have always been known and identified as using divination and augury to try to set dates for certain events.  The dates they set, though they hold festivals to celebrate them, never produce the results they predict.  Their superstitious behavior and their adherence to these mythologies are one way to identify them as false prophets.

Landmark New Book!

Does having eternity in your heart mean that you know God and are His child? Could Gentile cultures understand the Gospel from the stars? Did God create man’s cultures? Has God always been in the process of redeeming cultures from the time of Babel by placing in them a true revelation of Himself? Is there the worship of YHWH in all cultures and religions through the names of “supreme beings”?  Have all cultures always had a way to make things right between them and God? These questions and many more are answered in this book that addresses the teachings of the World Christian Gathering on Indigenous People movement.

The New Prophets And Apostles and Superstition
by Sandy Simpson, 5/22/07

Jer. 14:14  Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart. (KJV)
Jer. 14:14  Then the Lord said to me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, and I commanded them not, and I spoke not to them: for they prophesy to you false visions, and divinations, and auguries, and devices of their own heart. (LXXE)

False prophets have always been known and identified as using divination and augury to try to set dates for certain events.  The dates they set, though they hold festivals to celebrate them, never produce the results they predict.  Their superstitious behavior and their adherence to these mythologies are one way to identify them as false prophets.

Let's look briefly at the definition of the words divination, augury, and superstition.  We will also look at the synonyms of the word myth.

False prophets devote themselves to godless myths (superstitions) and the celebration of certain augured mythological dates.  Yet true believers are not to engage in such things.
1Ti 1:4  nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. These promote controversies rather than God’s work—which is by faith. (NIV)
1Ti 4:7  Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. (NIV)
2Ti 4:4  They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. (NIV)
The brief history of the New Apostolic Reformation is full of the celebration of mythological superstitious calendar dates.  The apostles and prophets of this movement have proven themselves to be false over and over again by their superstitions and alignment with New Age mythology.

3/3/3

Here are two articles that detail the superstitions date setting by false prophets that occurred before the date 3/3/3.

http://www.deceptioninthechurch.com/333hinn.html
http://www.deceptioninthechurch.com/answertotedhaggard.html

Ted Haggard, yes the same Haggard who was buying drugs and having some kind of homosexual affair for three years and was recently caught, set the date for the World Prayer Center, located at his New Life Church site, of 3/3/3.

Ted Haggard called Christians together to pray at the same time as New Agers, using humanistic and superstitious reasons as the basis for gathering to pray, instead of biblical truth.

Ted Haggard email: At New Life we often have special prayer meetings on Halloween night. Because of the darkness of that season, many Christians like to bring their families to pray on Halloween. Similarly, I received many e-mails from Christians asking that we call people to pray on March 3, 2003. I didn’t know it was a special day for New Agers until our researchers discovered it. Since so many Christians felt this was a special day, I responded by calling a day of prayer. Why? Because I’ll call a day of prayer any time I receive an opportunity. More people prayed on March 3 than would have had we not called for prayer.
I thought God was the One who called Christians to pray, not in response to someone who "felt this was a special day"?  To recap our letter, when Haggard sent out his call to pray on 3-3-3, he included the fact that New Agers were also doing so on the same day.
“The magnitude of this date is not lost on the non-Christian world as well. The Global Consciousness movement (New Age) has for years been planning a worldwide "Largest ever experiment into global consciousness" to take place on 03-03-03.”
Why is Haggard saying that “I didn’t know it was a special day for New Agers until our researchers discovered it.” in his email response to our reminding him that he already called Christians together to pray with New Agers on the same day?  This is trying to confuse the issue.  The letter was sent out with this included:
"Because he had so many letters to pray on such a day He responded “The World Prayer Team therefore calls on all Christian churches and individuals to set aside at least 3 minutes to pray at 3:33 PM in their time zone on 03/03/03."
Christians are to be in prayer regardless of whether members of the ICA call them to pray.  We are to pray, "without ceasing".  Therefore Christians were already praying regardless.  As already stated, Ted Haggard knew of the New Age call to "prayer" on that date, which is reflected in his WPC message.  The fact remains ... why were Christians called to pray in unity with New Agers on a date and time long planned by people who use occult methods like numerology?  No benefits are derived from summoning Christians to pray alongside New Agers, Muslims or any other pagan religion.

Benny Hinn, a proven false prophet, had made a prophetic "prediction" about 3/3/3 about the same time.

Well, 3/3/3 has come and gone and nothing dire or remarkable happened as predicted by Benny Hinn.  Here is part of his prophecy on 12/30/02:

Wednesday, the Wednesday before the 20th would be the 19th, correct, no the 18th of December at 2 am I awakened to a prophecy ringing in my heart.  I was hearing myself prophesy. ... I will tell you this, Satan is ready to unleash horror and terror on this earth as never before.  But I heard the Lord say, literally I heard Him speak those words, He said, "Dark days are ahead for the world, and bright days for my people." (Applause)  I was prophesying it.  "Those who know me and those who walk with me will know light and beauty, says the Lord."  God began to speak these words. ... March 3rd.  I just heard March 3rd in my ears.  What's March 3rd?  What day is that?  We don't know.  I don't know what March 3rd what day it would be?  I'm not sure what I would be, I don't know what crusade or service or maybe I'm not anywhere. But I'm hearing the Lord say that to me. (Benny Hinn, TBN "Praise The Lord", 12/30/02)
No "rivers of blood" occurred as prophesied by Benny Hinn later on TBN:
Last night I watched the Miracle Network here in Manila, which is the Asian arm of the Trinity Broadcasting network. Now to those of you who are from America, most of you are all too familiar with the false teachings and downright unbiblical spectacles that are regularly aired on the programming of TBN and, thankfully, I know many of you are appalled at what some in the church are teaching . Well, false prophet Benny Hinn is at it again and this time, God Himself awoke Benny with a prophesy that is frightening to say the least. That's right God told Hinn that "rivers of blood" will come in the near future unless fervent prayer is exercised on behalf of TBN partners and the Body of Christ in general. He told Rod Parsley on this program that great judgment is coming and this is in addition to the fire, shaking, shuddering, and raining that is also supposed to come upon the church as seen in Hinn's past dreams. He said in closing that Mar. 3 will be a day to be remembered because God personally told him that He would do "something" super supernatural that day that was not for the pastors like Parsley or Hinn but for regular church people. We should of course get ready for whatever is coming by sowing a healthy financial seed into these guys ministries, and that almost goes without saying these days from them. (Benny Hinn, TBN, as quoted in an email by a viewer on 2/27/03)
Hinn apparently knew of the New Agers plans to pray for "global consciousness" prior to his 12/30/02 show on TBN, or whatever spirit whispered this date to him was not the Holy Spirit -- take your pick.  It seems that he could not have known about any plan for the New Apostolic Reformation people to call for prayer on that same day as there is no evidence that the NAR people were planning anything as early as 12/02.  So Hinn must have either been notified of the New Age "prayer" day and decided to make a "prophecy" to coincide with that date, or he got his information from the spirit of the air, or both.  This should cause all Christians to again have the opportunity to reject Benny Hinn, once and for all, as a heretic false prophet.  Hinn has a long track record of false prophecy. In any case, no New Age global consciousness occurred on 3/3/3, at least none that was reported (I'd be satisfied if they achieved consciousness!).

All we are left with is false apostles like Ted Haggard leading Christians into ecumenical and interfaith unity with New Agers.  DITC urged Christians NOT to pray together with New Agers who planned for a long time to "pray" on 03/03/03. Ted Haggard of the World Prayer Team, a ministry of the New Apostolic Reformation and the false apostles under C. Peter Wagner, urged Christians to pray on 03/03/03 at 3:33 pm for 3 minutes (how superstitious!) on the same "Global Consciousness Day" as New Agers because that should "be enough to cause Christians to pray".  Nothing happened of any importance on that day out of the ordinary reports of terrorist activities and another in an almost daily series of bombings in Israel.  On 3/3/3 nine people were killed. On 3/4/3 14 were killed.  An so it goes.  This is not a fulfillment of the "rivers of blood" predicted by Hinn.  This is false prophecy.

Of course any true believer is always in prayer continually (1 Thes. 5:17) but we can thank the Lord for the prayers of a few righteous men who prayed that God would not dignify Benny Hinn with anything remotely resembling a fulfillment of another in a long line of false prophecies, and that the plans New Agers and false apostles would come to nothing.

The lesson?  God is not a respecter of numbers of people praying or dates on which they pray. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (Jas. 5:16b)  One righteous man's prayer is worth a million self-indulgent, superstitious prayers of people who allow false apostles to dictate the direction of the Church.  Let's stop letting the world and false apostles lead, and follow Christ!

6/6/6

Superstition again came into play on this date.  The apostolic networks came together to do "prayer" and "violent worship" to allegedly protect the world against the devil's plans for 6/6/6.

On June 6, 2006, many of the most powerful intercession and apostolic networks in the world are going to join hands with us for this world day of worship.

We believe that the plans the enemy has for this date (June 6, 2006) will be destroyed through violent worship and praise. We are inviting the entire world to be part of this huge unity project. For this reason, we would like to include you, your Apostolic and Intercession Network to join us for this event so that a vast Majority of places will be covered all around the world.

The Vision I received from the Lord:

1. Call forth the apostles, prophets, intercessors and the Saints in general to rise up as a mighty army and to agree to consecrate June 6, 2006 as a full day of worship in every city in the world. Let’s call June 6 “A Global Day of Violent Praise.” This day begins at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2006, and ends on June 6 at 6:00 p.m. in each time zone. It will be coordinated by national, regional, state, and city prayer networks. Local Churches and groups of churches will participate. Apostles will motivate their entire apostolic networks. Citywide groups of pastors will bring their Churches into the stream. Every prayer ministry will get the word out and mobilize their intercessors. There is no standard or prescribed way to make it happen. The Holy Spirit will provide all the creativity necessary.

It is notable, keeping biblical numbers in mind, that Isaiah 66:6 says, “[Hark!] Uproar from the city! A voice from the temple! The voice of the Lord, rendering recompense to his enemies!”

Notice their superstitious use of Scripture and claims that God is calling His people to "violent worship" Why didn't they use Ps. 66:6?
Ps. 66:6  He turned the sea into dry land, they passed through the waters on foot—come, let us rejoice in him.
It is because it did not support their ridiculous superstitious cause.  Why not use all the 6:6 verses starting in Genesis?
Gen. 6:6  The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain.
I think this one is probably more appropriate given the millions of false prophets involved in this global false religion!
2. God has spoken and said that He desires three shofar blasts to circle the globe in one accord with a resounding sound of victory during the night of praise. The times are 12:00 midnight, 3:00 a.m., and 6:00 a.m. in each time zone. I can imagine thousands of shofars being used hour after hour to bring joy to our Savior and Commander-in-Chief. “When I blow the trumpet, I and all who are with me, then you blow the trumpets also on every side of all the camp and shout, For the Lord and Gideon!” (Judges 7:18).

3. While we are worshipping, praising, and blowing our shofars in one accord around the world, those who are gathered must be speaking out God’s apostolic designs for their regions and for the whole earth. This is a time for apostolic and prophetic declaration. God has given us the power to decree into being His sovereign will for this hour. We will decree:

• The power of the Holy Spirit for a great harvest of souls.
• Raising up workers to multiply churches throughout every continent of the world.
• Compassion for helping the poor and needy wherever they are.
• Transforming society itself so that God’s will is being done here on earth as it is in heaven,

Another mark of false prophets and false apostles is the they clearly have NOT heard from the Lord. Jer 23:21  I did not send these prophets, yet they have run with their message; I did not speak to them, yet they have prophesied.  They can "declare" all they want, but the Lord says:  Jer 23:16  This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you; they fill you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the LORD. Jer 23:21  I did not send these prophets, yet they have run with their message; I did not speak to them, yet they have prophesied.
Our prayers are that you will consider joining us, and share the vision within your sphere of influence. It’s very important that we hear back from you as soon as possible… Please sign in into our members area and contact the leader in your country or in the country nearest you. May the God bless you in this powerful work He is calling us to do. In His Service, Ana Mendez Ferrell, Emerson Ferrell (http://www.voiceofthelight.com/registration/)
Were we all saved from some evil plot of Satan on 6/6/6 by these people?  Since there was no particular evil plot on 6/6/6 then their efforts were useless, and more importantly, based on false prophecy. Isn't Satan plotting against Christians, in particular, every day?
1Pe 5:8  Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
7/7/7

This week the Elijah List, an umbrella group of today’s prominent false prophets, sent out a notice of a coming event this summer:

"About TheCall -- On 07.07.07, we believe the largest prayer gathering in the history of this state will be held at LP Field, The Titans' Stadium in Nashville. Believers from around the country will converge on this city for a national, solemn assembly of biblical proportions. The mandate the Lord has given us comes from Joel 2:12 - 27: ‘Call a sacred assembly... gather the elders... 40 years after the start of the Jesus Movement and 40 years after the rebellion of the Summer of Love, it’s time for a new generation to step forward and return to the Lord and to renew our covenant vows of love with Him.’"
Lou Engle, Founder of TheCall and Justice House of Prayer, who is sponsoring the event, believes that this gathering of prayer warriors will be more effective than his last seven such events that began in Washington D.C. in 2000. This one is different, he surmises, because of the prophetic words it has received and because of the significance of the 07-07-07 date. He writes:
"In 1993, Bob Jones prophesied, ‘The Houston Oilers would move to Nashville, and Nashville would build God a stadium. And 100,000 people, particularly youth, would gather for a great mobilization of the army of God.’ With this prophecy in effect, I was praying about holding TheCall in Titan Stadium in Nashville on 07-07-07."
The Bob Jones who Engle quoted is the same Bob Jones who was one of the infamous Kansas City Prophets who was scandalized for using his so-called prophetic gift as a ruse to get women to disrobe for his amusement. Another one of the Kansas City Prophets, Paul Cain, was exposed for homosexual behavior and that was the final straw that pushed all of them into the background for the past decade. Now it seems as though, under the leadership of the late John Wimber’s former associate C. Peter Wagner, they have all reassociated together still hoping for the manifestation of what they call the "New Breed" of prophets that are to be the long awaited "Joel’s Army" who will take the nation for Christ and rule and reign without the need for His visible return.

The same "Joel’s Army" rhetoric is resurfacing as one reads through the promotional material about TheCall on their website and the Elijah List website as well as in Charisma magazine (see last week’s Reflection). That comes at no surprise since not only do they quote scandalized false prophets such as Bob Jones, but former Kansas City Prophets Mike Bickle and Rick Joyner are listed as serving on TheCall’s Board. (Other Board members include Wesley and Stacey Campbell {the shaking prophetess}, Bill Hamon {"the apostle of all prophets"}, and Bob Weiner {former leader of Maranatha Campus Ministries that was considered by many to be a cult in the 1980s.}

Engle says he received his confirmation of Bob Jones’ prophecy from a female seer. He wrote in the promo material:

"While in a prophets gathering, I received a profound confirmation. Sharon Stone, a prophetic voice from England, who knew nothing that was on my heart, stood and began to speak forth this word over me, ‘There is coming a fresh recruitment on 07-07-07. I heard the day very clearly, and on that day, a stand will be taken, and it will bring forth a great shift.’ Could it be that TheCall in Nashville is that day of recruitment and that day of shifting?"
They love using military terms such as "recruitment" for the Joel’s Army vision that puts these "prophets" in authority over the western church as they claim this nation as their dominion. They give themselves titles of authority such as "the Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders" that was recently convened by C. Peter Wagner and Cindy Jacobs, leaders in the New Apostolic Reformation. They reject the Bible’s prophecies of the church ruling and reigning with Christ during His literal 1,000-year Kingdom in exchange for their own time of prominence and interpret all prophecies of the former as applying to Christ ruling indirectly through them. They’re looking for a kingdom without Christ, with them in charge, as God is said to have lowered His scepter to them. And they cannot come into that season without a critical mass of the energies of thousands of participants.

In the current issue of Charisma Magazine (May 2007), the cover story is on Dutch Sheets and Chuck Pierce, two so-called prophets. Dutch Sheets is on the Board of TheCall. Their idea of the "coming revival" reveals the wrong view of prayer and spiritual warfare they are engaging in. Pierce, president of Glory of Zion Int’l in Denton, Texas, said,

"I believe the Lord is trying to increase our sphere of authority in prayer." The two men have been traveling all over America together for the past 18 months teaching on prayer – not as petitioning God – but as taking authority over the spirit realm and prophesying over each state. They claim to be mobilizing an "army of intercessors" to pray for the nation. They say that they hope to ignite a revival similar to Azusa Street, and TheCall has that same vision. After visiting all 50 states, they were excited at the response they received – except they didn’t like the state of Arizona, that they say is spiritually cold. They said they were "blindsided" by that and Sheets reported, "We couldn’t tap into anything, as far as discerning and anointing" in that state." (Charisma May 2007, page 40).
Another Board member of TheCall, James Goll (author of the books, The Seer, Dream Language, and The Prophetic Intercessor), wrote in the same issue of Charisma that the upcoming 7-7-7 Nashville Call will result in "a new breed of radical, fierce, yet humble intercessors… emerging on the scene" (Pg. 14). He points out that "in every generation God raises up forerunners… like John the Baptist…to prepare the way." What he doesn’t understand is that the spirit of antichrist does the same thing in the use of his forerunner the false prophet. And since they do not acknowledge a Premillennial return of Christ Jesus, what are they forerunning?

Whereas TheCall and Charisma Magazine say they are anticipating a revival like Azusa Street, they seem to have opposition by certified false prophet Kim Clement. In the current issue of Elijah List’s magazine Elijah Rain (May, 2007) which features a full-page ad for TheCall, "prophet" Clement prophesied first person as if from God:

"The four years that I have dictated are now coming close to an end and a swift change in the churches – in My house – for suddenly that which happened on the day of Pentecost will suddenly begin to happen again…and they shall say, ‘Is this a revisitation of Azusa Street?’ No, no, there shall be a revisitation of nothing, for you shall not recapture the past anymore. You will capture the future and you will bring it into existence."
So Clement’s supposed word from God contradicted the "prophets" of Elijah List and TheCall. In fact, according to Clement, rather than a revival in the church, he is predicting an imminent revival in the homosexual community, though he says absolutely nothing about homosexuals repenting and being delivered out of their sin. His prophecy concluded:
"One of the greatest revivals shall take place in San Francisco with the gay people (how nice that God uses politically correct terms). Many cried out against My servant, Haggard. Yes, My servant Haggard, who fell…and I ran after him…I put My Spirit upon him as a small child. Ted Haggard, I will raise you up to be a voice to the gay community, and you will be an evangelist that shall raise them up to speak the Word; for I will restore, says the Lord.’" (pp. 22-23).
Wrong concepts of prayer, wrong concepts of the Kingdom of God, wrong concepts of revival, wrong concepts of authority, wrong attitudes toward human government and our own citizenship -- all equal a gathering of confusion. If anything is spawned by the Nashville event of 7-7-07, it won’t be anything holy – that’s for sure!
"Pause and wonder! Blind yourselves and be blind! They are drunk, but not with wine; They stagger, but not with intoxicating drink. For the Lord has poured out on you the spirit of deep sleep, And has closed your eyes, namely, the prophets; And He has covered your heads, namely, the seers. The whole vision has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one who is literate, saying, ‘Read this, please.’ And he says, ‘I cannot, for it is sealed.’ Then the book is delivered to one who is illiterate, saying, ‘Read this, please.’ And he says, ‘I am not literate.’ Therefore the Lord said: ‘Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths And honor Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me, And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men, Therefore, behold, I will again do a marvelous work Among this people, A marvelous work and a wonder; For the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, And the understanding of their prudent men shall be hidden.’" -- Isaiah 29:9-14 (Kingdom-Now "Prophets" Unite on 07/07/07 by Jackie Alnor, Apostasy Alert, 5/14/07)
8/8/8 and beyond

I suppose 8/8/8 will be superstitiously seen as the sign of eternity or some such silly thing.  Perhaps that will be predicted as the time of Christ's return.  If we last that long 9/9/9 may be announced by the false prophets as the sign of the nine bulls to be sacrificed in Nu 29:26 or the nine lepers that did not return to thank Jesus in Lu 17:17. Or maybe it will be the apostles who were speaking in tongues and preaching the Gospel who were charged with being drunk at nine in the morning.  This they will twist to mean we should all be drunk in the Spirit.  We often forget that in 999 AD the whole world was given over to a false prophecy of an apocalypse to come in 1000 AD at the turn of the millennium. (http://www.nytimes.com/books/98/04/05/bib/980405.rv140922.html)

A clear mark of a false teacher, whether a self-proclaimed "anointed" prophet or apostle of the New Apostolic Reformation, is the superstitious setting of dates that do not come about as prophesied.

De 18:22  If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him. (NIV)
The end result of following false apostles and prophets is a spirit of fear. They foster fear so that they may gain the upper hand in the churches, just as the prophets in the Old Testament tried to do with Israel.  Dear saint, it is up to you not to follow them.  Mark and avoid them!
Ro 16:17  Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
Pr 14:7  Stay away from a foolish man, for you will not find knowledge on his lips.
