The Responsibilities Of A Good Shepherd There was a good reason why the illustration of a shepherd
with his sheep was used so often in biblical times ... because it was an
illustration people could easily identify with in their cultural context. The illustrations we use are most effective when they are understood easily
by the culture to which God has sent us to minister. Middle eastern
cultures understood what shepherding was all about. It was about
feeding the lambs and the sheep, bringing them to good pasture lands and
water, grooming and clipping them, delivering new lambs, leading them and
teaching them to stay together, going off after the wandering lost ones,
and protecting the sheep in the field and in the fold. We are all
under shepherds and Jesus Christ is the Good Shepherd. We need to
emulate what the Good Shepherd does for the sheep. Go here for

Featured Discernment Link
Christian Discernment Resources The purposes of this site are: 1. To provide a witness of the truth of Jesus Christ and the true gospel to those who may not have heard the gospel before and to those who may currently have been deceived by erroneous teachings. 2. To provide information for Christians on the new movements that we see frequently in the church these days so that they have some help in discerning the true from the false. 3. Encourage Christians to be as Bereans and to test everything by searching the scriptures daily to see if these things are true (Acts 17:10-11). In this regard, we do not believe that anyone is above such testing and would encourage those who are using this site to check out what we say and see for yourself if what we say is true.

Dear All,The Bible clearly states that Christians are in danger of destroying their faith (2 Tim. 2:18) by allowing their belief systems to be corrupted by legalist or liberal false teaching. Those ideas always pervert the person of Jesus Christ and the Gospel. 2Co 11:4 For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.Placing your faith in another "Jesus", a different "gospel" or submitting to a different "spirit" can lead you to believe in vain. 1Co 15:2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. If your faith is corrupted what do you have? Don't be fooled. If Jesus warned the disciples they might be deceived, which many of them almost were at one point (Gal. 2:11-21), then what makes you think you are greater than the Apostles with regard to being immune from deception? Mt 24:4 Jesus answered: "Watch out that no-one deceives you. This is why we are to hold on to what we have been taught by Jesus Christ the Apostles and Prophets in the written Word. The word "hold" or "keep" is katecho in Greek, meaning to "hold, hold fast, keep, possess, stay, take, have" etc. We have what we have believed in but we must also hold it, keep it, stay in it, and take it with us. Why? Because there are always scheming false teachers (Eph. 4:14), wolves in sheep skins (Matt. 7:15), ready and willing to try to pervert (Gal. 1:7) the Gospel, the Spirit and Jesus Christ. --- We continue to be in need of your help financially. The Gospel: Going, Going,
Going, Goi... | by Dr. Orrel Steinkamp The Plumbline, Volume 15,
No.4, August/September 2010
Evangelicalism has become a melange of mushy spiritual feelings. Years of Seeker-Sensitive pragmatism has set the church up for a host of extra biblical spiritual and mystical experiences. Externally, within the wider culture, Postmodern Emergentts are pouring into City Evangelical. They, however, come in disguise as evangelicals and the biblically compromised city dwellers of City Evangelical welcome them through the city gates, especially when Christianity Today writes positively about them. A handful of watchmen sound the alarm only to be pushed to the side. Right behind the Emergents are the Comtemplatives whose meditation procedures often lead to altered states of consciousness.

Four
Ways Christians Are Being Deceived | by Proclamation, Invitation
& Warning written about 1990, Posted about 1998 updated
6/19/10
The Lord put verses in his Word to warn us of a
reality of world history: Global deception. And even those who profess
to be Evangelical Christians are susceptible to the Serpent's lie. "In
the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing
spirits, and doctrines of devils." 1 Timothy 4:1. Four ways that Christians
are being deceived in our day are: The Repackaged Lie, Blurred Distinctions,
Unequal Yoking, Following Gurus.

The
Money God - Part 1: The ATM God
| by Pastor Anton Bosch, 8/14/10
"God wants you to be rich, healthy and happy. If you have financial
problems just become a Christian and all your problems will go away. Believers
can get anything they wish from God by planting seeds in the form of cash.
Every dollar you give God, He repays ten or a hundred fold." As a result
of this message, millions of people have converted to Christianity and
swelled the coffers of the TV stations, preachers and churches that preach
this. But we must ask a few questions: Are they following the God of the
Bible, and are those who teach and believe this message really Christians?
How dare we ask such questions? Well, how dare we not! It all hinges on
one question: Is the god of the prosperity message the God of the Bible? Click here to read this article!

Today's Anti-Christianity Today
| by The Berean Call, 8/10
Galli is "pretty happy" driving down the road to hell? God is a
Crazy Fellow? God is a Drama Queen? I have two suggestions: 1) Send your
reaction to Galli's article to the founder and honorary chairman of CT,
Billy Graham, noting what seems to be the ultimate degeneration of what
he started, and 2) Pray for Mark Galli, that he will repent. "[Regarding
the wicked] there is no fear of God before his eyes" (Ps 36:1). Click here to read this article!
