A Whole Lot Of Wishful Thinking These Days! by Sandy Simpson In this DVD series I want to detail a number of beliefs people have these days that have no basis in Scripture. I am going to roam all over the map, so to speak, and try to give fairly short answers on a number of topics and also give you useful links to articles that will help you deal with any particular issue. It is truly amazing how many false ideas people cling to without giving a thought to what the Bible has to say on the subject. Go here to order this 2-DVD series! Visit Our Products Page! |

The ministry name, The Berean Call, is taken from Acts 17:11 where the writer of Acts commended those in the synagogue of the Greek city of Berea for being more fair minded than those in Thessalonica, because while they were eager to receive the Word, they also checked it against what the Apostle Paul taught them in order to see if his teaching was according to the Scriptures or not..

DITC e-Newsletter Volume 34, Issue 10 |
Dear All,
"East is east and west is west and never the twain shall meet." This phrase by Rudyard Kipling is true in one sense, especially that of the promise by God to forgive the sins of those who repent and never bring them up again. Ps 103:12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. But in today's world of globalism and instant communication, the east and west are being brought together in many ways. One of the destructive ways is that of mixing eastern religion with Christianity. "Chrislam", teachings of the Emergent Movement and practicing yoga in the churches have become commonplace. Globalism is on the rise and a form of Christian fascism, namely "Dominioism" which is entirely unbiblical, are taking center stage. When the east does meet and combine with the west in these ways, we know we are living in the end times. Knowledge has certainly increased (Dan. 12:4) but wisdom is going down the tubes. Job 28:28 ... 'The fear of the Lord-that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.'"--- Please consider ordering one of our products or making a donation. Chrislam - Another New Kind of Interspiritual "Christianity"
| by Mike Oppenheimer Let Us Reason Ministries, 8/13/11
While Terry Jones wanted to burn the Qur'an there are pastors that want to read the Qur'an in church to their congregations. In response to a local Qur'an burning, Larry Reimer, a minister of the United Church of Gainesville, decided to read Scripture from the Qur'an as part of worship services on September 12, 2010, prodded further about religious relatives. "Christianity, Judaism, and Islam are all part of the Abrahamic tree of faith. We all believe in the same God, and in many aspects we are all trying to accomplish the same goals." Will the Evangelical Church Sell Out the Gospel for a Dominionist Political Agenda?
| A Special Report by Understand the Times and Lighthouse Trails, 8/15/11
This article is not a statement that Christians should not be involved in or concerned about the political state of their countries. Rather, the intention of this article is to exhort believers to use discernment in understanding the times in which we live. It is to show how a present ecumenical, dominionist movement (that is heading toward a one-world religion to "establish the kingdom of God on earth") is operating and deceiving many Christians. As Christians, we are to be witnesses for Jesus Christ and His Gospel message of salvation to those who believe on Him by faith. But today, many Christians may be on the brink of buying into a plan that will ultimately create a global religion and global government.

The March Toward Globalism
| Host: Vic Eliason Guest: Gary Kah VCY America, 8/13/11
Gary Kah is a former Europe & Middle East Trade Specialist for the State of Indiana. During that time, he learned of efforts underway to establish a one-world political and a one-world financial system. His independent research today continues to monitor these efforts and also the push toward a one world religious system. He is the Founder and Executive Director of Hope for the Word. Gary believes that we're within about two years of being in a situation where half of what our government spends will be borrowed. In other words, we will need to cut government spending in half. If the American public would be willing to go along with that for approximately one generation, he believes we would be back to normal. However, he also contends that if America isn't willing to make the necessary sacrifices to pay off this debt, sacrifices that may include a lower standard of living, our only choice will be to go along with whatever the globalists propose and that might mean a reduction in freedoms. Gary also discusses the situation in the Middle East--including events affecting Israel, the seduction of religious movements like the New Apostolic Reformation and the Emergent Church Movement, and much more.

YOGA: Posture to Apostasy - Can yogic practices be integrated with the Christian faith?
| by Pastor Larry DeBruyn, 8/15/11
East is east, and west is west, and if Christianity is to remain Christian, "the twain," meaning yoga and Christianity, should never be integrated. The soul that is engaged to Jesus Christ cannot commit spiritual harlotry by flirting with the yogic practices intended to introduce them to Hindu gods. As John the Apostle wrote: "Little chidren, guard yourselves from idols" (1 John 5:21).
