Volume 40, Issue 9
Dear All,

The end times will be marked by those who do not consider the written Word to be the ultimate authority in the lives of Christians, who lord it over their congregations, who introduce occultic practices to believers and who believe it is the duty of the Church to take over all aspects of life and establish the physical Kingdom now.  This is exactly what is happening.

Self-Elevated Little Popes
by A.W. Pink, 10/8/12

Biographer Iain Murray has said of evangelist and scholar A.W. Pink that "the widespread circulation of his writings after his death made him one of the most influential evangelical authors in the second half of the twentieth century." The teachings of Pink led to an increase in expository preaching and appeals for holy living for those who have been saved by Christ. In an article entitled, "Private Judgment," Pink warns against those ministers of the gospel who would seek to usurp the authority of Christ, imposing upon their congregations their own dictates rather than, or in addition to, the commands of Scripture.

The Labyrinth Journey: Walking the Path to Fulfillment?
by Carl Teichrib, Forcing Change, 10/9/12 LT Publishing

Understand, Christians looking for ways to bring in new relevancy within church worship did not "rediscover" the labyrinth as a spiritual tool. As we shall see, it's been part of the esoteric world for a very long time. Which is why, today, labyrinth walks and "prayer journeys" are being promoted by Rosicrucian groups [4], at New Age festivals and celebrations [5], and throughout the neo-pagan world. Not surprisingly, one of America's largest witch, shaman, and neo-pagan assemblies, the 2005 Pagan Spirit Gathering at Wisteria, OH, held a night-time Summer Solstice Labyrinth ritual, which was described as a "transformative, walking meditation through an all night labyrinth formed by 1000 lighted candles".

A Global Community - the Sign of His Coming
by Roger Oakland, 10/6/12 Understanding The Times

Over 400,000 churches have now participated in Rick Warren's Purpose Driven program. Quite obviously, millions of Christians have bought into the idea that the details of Christ's return are none of our business, and we must help usher in a new reformation to eradicate the global problems facing the earth. According to Rick Warren, we accomplish this only if we all work together. This togetherness/community mindset is the same message that [occultist] Alice Bailey referred to as "right human relations" and the same one the emerging church hopes to convey to the people of the world. A personal, individual relationship with Christ is considered self-centered,6 because it doesn't focus on the global, common good. Communal spirituality is seen as the only path to the world's survival.
