From Church To Emerging Church DVD Series
by Sandy Simpson
The issue of the Emerging Church and it's introduction into many churches and mission organizations has reached a critical point. Many do not undersand what is being leavened into churches by the EC leadership. Many would be shocked to know their belief systems involve Universalism, New Age, defense of postmodernism, Interfaithism, and many other false doctrines. In order to reach out to this generation the EC leadership is proposing a whole new "map" to deal with what they perceive is a lack of understanding on the part of the churches on how to communicate. EC proponants believe the "scripture" for today is evolving and must change in order to reach postmoderns.

Think on These Things Ministries is a vital outreach ministry of Southern View Chapel. Think on These Things, which began in 1994, was originally the name of a one-page paper created for a mission agency, who wanted to keep their missionaries informed of the theological landscape in America and around the world.
Today, Think on These Things has grown into a monthly publication that deals with contemporary theological issues, and is sent to subscribers in nearly every state in the U.S. and to numerous countries around the world. In addition to the monthly articles, Think on These Things Ministries hosts Bible conferences and serves as the publishing arm of Southern View Chapel, featuring the writing ministry of Pastor Gary Gilley, who has authored several books including, Is That You Lord?: Hearing the Voice of the Lord, a Biblical Perspective, This Little Church Stayed Home, This Little Church Went to Market, and "I Just Wanted More Land"-Jabez.
Think on These Things is currently funded by Southern View Chapel and the generous gifts of its readers. While each issue of Think on These Things is available through our website, many receive a monthly subscription through the mail or email. The Social Gospel, Yesterday and Today
| by Gary Gilley, 11/2/12
What is unfolding before us is what the Emergent leader Brian McLaren terms "missional." Missional, McLaren tells us, is "a generous third way," between the conservative "personal Savior" gospel and liberal version of it.[35] McLaren further explains, "My missional calling: blessed in this life to be a blessing to everyone on earth... My mission isn't to figure out who is already blessed, or not blessed, or unblessable. My calling is to be blessed so I can bless everyone."[36] He continues, "From this understanding we place less emphasis on whose lineage, rites, doctrines, structures, and terminology are right and more emphasis on whose actions, service, outreach, kindness, and effectiveness are good.... (In order) to help our world get back on the road to being truly and wholly good again, the way God created it to be..."[37] Rob Bell adds, "For Jesus, the question wasn't how do I get into heaven? But how do I bring heaven here?...The goal isn't escaping this world but making this world the kind of place God can come to. And God is remaking us into the kind of people who can do this kind of work."[38] The rationale of McLaren and Bell is a mere echo of the original founders of liberalism. Read Part 1 & Part 2.

A lesson from the Lakeland Revival
| by The Berean Call, 11/3/12
This documentary made me both angry and sad. I was outraged to see Bentley's complete disregard for Scripture, his disregard for what the Bible tells us about the miraculous gifts, about maintaining good order in services, about so much else. What made me sad were the many looks at the people who had followed Bentley. There were many people, well-intentioned, I am sure, who gave up everything they had to follow him. The Mindset of Catholicism Permeating Evangelicalism
| by Former Catholic Priest Richard Bennett The Berean Beacon, 11/4/12
In this DVD, Richard Bennett highlights the Catholic Church's official teaching that people are spiritually wounded and need restoration, rather than being spiritually dead in trespasses and sins and in need of conviction and conversion. Richard shows how this same mindset has become the basis of the so-called gospel message in the New Evangelical movement and its churches. The claiming of "new birth" by water baptism in the Reformed Federal Vision movement is exposed. Likewise, an alleged "new birth," by making a self-initiated decision to receive Christ as Savior, is also revealed. The Catholic mindset of propagating images of Christ is now accepted in New Evangelical churches in pictures of Christ, Sunday school materials, and DVDs. This is shown to be the most dangerous of the Catholic mindsets to pervade Christian circles. Kindly make the DVD known to others by forwarding its URL. Thank you.
