From Church To Emerging Church DVD Series by Sandy Simpson The issue of the Emerging Church and it's introduction into many churches and mission organizations has reached a critical point. Many do not undersand what is being leavened into churches by the EC leadership. Many would be shocked to know their belief systems involve Universalism, New Age, defense of postmodernism, Interfaithism, and many other false doctrines. In order to reach out to this generation the EC leadership is proposing a whole new "map" to deal with what they perceive is a lack of understanding on the part of the churches on how to communicate. EC proponants believe the "scripture" for today is evolving and must change in order to reach postmoderns.

Featured Discernment Ministry Believers In Grace Fellowship is a nondenominational family Bible church located in Marion, Iowa. Our sole purpose is serving GOD in our greatest capacity and to see souls saved by faith in Jesus Christ. We have multiple service times and believe in active participation for all christians, for the Bible teaches the "priesthood of all believers." Therefore, the number and facets to the ministry are innumerable, but one and the selfsame Spirit divides our giftings severally as He wills. We welcome anyone of any faith in any status in life to come and hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our meetings. Though our heart reaches out to the world, we are resolved to preach the Gospel truth, no matter how offensive it might be to the sinner. We firmly hold to the fact that the Church is not an invention of man, nor something you "have" or "go to", but is a building made without human hands. We dare not adjust it to make it more palatable to this world which is so hostile to Christ. Our church is an entity, not a program. As living stones, each member plays an integral and important role in the Body of Christ. The Greek word koinonia (Κοινονια - koy-no-NEE-ah) is used to describe the community of love and self-sacrifice observed in the early church from the book of Acts. In English, it is translated as Fellowship and is our highest goal - to have fellowship with GOD and to pursue this same koinonia with one another.

by Crosswalk, 3/20/15Charlotte pastor Steven Furtick and his Elevation Church are making waves this week as more is revealed about Elevation's odd fixation on their "Lead Pastor" as well as some of the questionable practices of the church, including "spontaneous baptism." Indeed, many people are sounding the alarm and calling Pastor Furtick a "cult-leader in the making," though Elevation Church describes him as a visionary they need to unequivocally support. Reformation 21's Todd Pruitt and Matthew Paul Turner both share a page from Elevation's Sunday school coloring book that's been circulating around. The image depicts the Elevation congregation looking up at Furtick in the pulpit. The text reads, "We are united under the visionary," and "Elevation Church is built on the vision God gave Pastor Steven. We will protect our Unity in Supporting His Vision." Of this, Matthew Paul Turner writes, "While the grownups are listening to Pastor Steven preach, the little ones are in Sunday school learning about "unity." I actually cringed when I saw this. Not even the fundamentalist church I was raised in featured coloring pictures of our pastor. There's nothing good or holy or trustworthy about this kind of b.s. It's dangerous religion. It's the kind of evangelical brainwashing that all of us should be calling out. This should make us angry. Because its wrong. And because it's not Christianity."Click here to read this article!

by Matt Slick, CARM, 3/20/15 First of all, Furtick is not very doctrinally minded; otherwise, he wouldn't allow a heretic such as T. D. Jakes (who denies the Trinity) to preach in his church. Furtick affirms the Trinity and the deity of Christ11, but as a pastor he is required to uphold orthodoxy and not promote preachers who deny even one essential christian doctrine. This is a very serious issue. Second, he violates scripture in his promotion of women pastors. This is also a serious issue, and I politely offer to publicly debate Pastor Furtick on this topic.12 My goal is promote God's truth, not man's opinions. Third, his mockery of the doctrines of grace is shameful. We are not saying he must affirm the doctrines of grace as found in Calvinism, but his disdainful attack upon them and those who hold to those doctrines is a serious concern. It shows a lack of pastoral care for Christians who don't agree with him on these issues, and it risks violating Scripture. So, Pastor Steven Furtick, if you are interested I would be glad to talk to you about these issues. I invite you to do so in Christian love and concern, letting the Bible be our guide. 'Hip' Church Gives Biblical Christians New Label: 'Hater'
| by Jim Fletcher, 3/20/15
Sometime back, the progressive mega church pastor, Steven Furtick (Elevation Church, Charlotte, North Carolina), mentored as he is by evangelical bigwigs like Rick Warren and Bill Hybels, felt bold enough to post a YouTube video in which he sneeringly challenged what I'd call traditional Christians to basically get out of the way, because their time is past.
