"Silence the noise of your songs"
by Sandy Simpson, 5/26/19
Amos 5:21-27 "I hate, I reject your festivals, nor do I delight in your solemn assemblies.  "Even though you offer up to Me burnt offerings and your grain offerings, I will not accept them; and I will not even look at the peace offerings of your fatlings. "Take away from Me the noise of your songs; I will not even listen to the sound of your harps. "But let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream. Did you present Me with sacrifices and grain offerings in the wilderness for forty years, O house of Israel? You also carried along Sikkuth your king and Kiyyun, your images, the star of your gods which you made for yourselves. Therefore, I will make you go into exile beyond Damascus," says the Lord, whose name is the God of hosts. When I first reread this passage in Amos, a few things struck me.  First of all the Lord is bringing judgment on Israel for carrying on religious ceremony without true dedication to the Lord.  They sing songs and present their offerings while harboring idols.  I was reminded of how the Lord must view the heretical apostate mega church celebrations of today.  There is a lot of pomp and circumstance, yet little or no obedience to the Word of God.  The Lord does not look favorably upon worship of that type, no matter the hype, no matter the noise, no matter the show.  He actually "hates" it.

10 Things to Ponder-Pathways to Apostasy
by Roger Oakland, 9/17/19 Understanding The Times

(1) Ecumenical unity at any cost, yet completely void of any connection to the message that Jesus died on the Cross. (2) The church-growth movement, which is focused on a market-driven seeker-friendly Christianity emphasizing a megachurch mentality. (3) A Christianity focused on following men, their methods, and their movements. (4) A Jesuit agenda promoted by publishers and pastors proclaiming the teachings and ideas of Roman Catholic church fathers and Roman Catholic mystics. (5) The rejection of biblical creation and the acceptance of theistic evolution and progressive creation. (6) The acceptance of New Age ancient Babylonian practices such as yoga and contemplative prayer as a means of "getting closer to Jesus." (7) A false Christianity that substitutes the Gospel according to the Scriptures with a social gospel. (8) The "Purpose-driven P.E.A.C.E. Plan" that prepares the church for a global one-world religion. (9) An experience-based "Christianity" that seeks after signs and wonders and rejects the biblical warnings of a Last Days spiritual deception found in the Bible. (10) The New Age belief that man is a "co-creator" and that every person has divinity within him.

Egypt, Babylon, or the Palm of God
by James Jacob Prash, 9./18/19 Moriel Ministries

We have spoken a number of times concerning things that teach about the Last Days. There are a number of time periods in Israel's history, outlined in the Bible, that prefigure what will happen in the Last Days. In watching news reports about the riots on the Temple Mount recently, I was reminded of one of the things that convinces me that we are in the Last Days. Specifically, there is much arguing over the propriety of custody of the Temple Mount.

In a Sept. 2, 2019 video, Hinn said he is now breaking with friends in ministry who preach the prosperity gospel. One of the Headlines: Benny Hinn renounces prosperity gospel, says 'Holy Ghost is just fed up with it' By Leonardo Blair, Christian Post Reporter Wednesday, September 04, 2019 Faith healer and televangelist Benny Hinn. Facebook Declaring that the "Holy Ghost is just fed up with it," controversial televangelist Benny Hinn, formerly one of the most aggressive proponents of the prosperity gospel, has for the first time in his career, delivered a full-throated rejection of the practice that made him and his family millions. Speaking to his followers during a Facebook Live broadcast Hinn declared the Gospel "is not for sale." We get attacked for preaching prosperity, well it's in the Bible. But I think some have gone to the extreme with it sadly, and it's not God's word what is taught, and I think I'm as guilty as others. Sometimes you go a little farther than you really need to go and then God brings you back to normality and reality. "The more you know the Bible the more you become biblically based and more balanced in your opinions and your thoughts, because we are influenced," Hinn said. When I was younger I was influenced by the preachers who taught whatever they taught. But as I've lived longer, I'm thinking, 'Wait a minute, you know this doesn't fit totally with the Bible and it doesn't fit with the reality.' So what is prosperity? No lack. I've said this before." Hinn makes it sound like he is a victim as an adult who knew full well what he was teaching, and it's not going a little too far it's the false promises he made, the manipulation he did and the money he received from it all.  Also read: What else has Hinn done?
