| The New Age Christian-An Accepted Oxymoron | by Ray Yungen, 1/24/20
The current popularity with meditative contemplative mysticism presents a very perplexing challenge for evangelical Christianity. We are now encountering the New Age or Aquarian Christian. This term describes someone who remains in his or her home church and professes the Christian faith but has also incorporated various aspects of the New Age or Aquarian mindset into his or her life. New Age author David Spangler was very optimistic about the possibility of this integration when he wrote, "The point is that the New Age is here . . . it builds itself and forms itself in the midst of the old."1 What has fueled the momentum of this trend is the buffet-style dining approach that has become a hallmark of American religious sensibilities in the last thirty years-you take what you want and leave the rest. Americans are picking and blending religions as if they were ordering espressos: pick your espresso blend, but you still get coffee-pick your spiritual path, but you still get God. Whatever suits your spiritual tastes, you bring together. The result is hybrid New Age spirituality.

| What God wants of you |

In the 18th Century, the hymn writer Charles Wesley wrote these incredibly wonderful words: "Amazing love! How can it be that thou, my God, shouldst die for me?" That act of love is beyond our ability to fathom, yet it is even more incomprehensible to understand why anyone would not want to receive it. In John chapter 15 verse 13, Jesus informs us of what that act means even for sinful humanity: "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" (John:15:13). Who would not want to be His friend for all eternity?

How we know this is the last of the end times. One of the most apparent ways is the cruelty and violence we see taking place. The age of violence found in Genesis before the flood is now repeating, just as Jesus said it would be in the last days before His coming. It is not just from Islam in the religious sphere but within humanity and its culture involving children. The abortion advocates believe it is a right of freedom, and it is their choice alone. The cliché it's my body is the theme of their movement. If it's your body why are you eating for more than one? If it's "your body" then you can take drugs and drink with a child developing. But the child will be affected also, a body that is developing will be affected different than your own. Why stop one from doing this destructive behavior even when they are not pregnant, after all it is there body? This tiny life called a fetus is composed of hundreds of thousands of cells, that develops a protective hormone to prevent the mother's body from rejecting it as foreign tissue, because it is foreign tissue! It is not its Mother, it is another! After a baby is born we do everything we can to make them comfortable and save them from harm.
