SERIES: JANUS: The Return Of The "God" Of New Beginnings Part 2: Significant Prophetic "Keys" And "Doors" By Ed Tarkowski The Holy Doors: Reconciliation Of The Masses If the unity under a New Age Christ is to come about, then what must precede it is a uniting of charismatics with pentecostals with revivalists with denominations, and the uniting of this resulting entity with Rome. How can that happen? One way would be to bring it about through the use of a common symbol, a seemingly good symbol, an acceptable symbol. That's what I want to discuss in this part. If we look at the Catholic agenda in the light of the new words of direction in the Revival, we will find that these two spiritual entities are becoming very much alike in purpose and "revelation." In this shift towards unity of purpose, they are automatically adjusting their direction according to "new" revelations - revelations which actually support a well-planned spiritual agenda. Though they once ran parallel to and apart from one another, both are now heading towards a point where they will converge into a manifestation of unity. And because underlying the agenda of Rome is the New Age, the church will actually be uniting with the New Age through the deceptive foundations that have been laid. The new unity will be a catalyst to bring in the final harvest. In this convergence of like minds there will come a gathering of like-hearts who have worked to bring the effort to where it is today. This gathering will also attract those who have not really played an integral part in bringing the church and the world to this particular situation. The latter will be there because they will want to get out of it what they can: love, joy, unity, peace, a global community. The point at which all of these entities will begin to converge is the celebration of Jubilee 2000, with 24,000,000 people expected to come to Rome alone after the opening ceremony this Christmas Eve. On December 24, 1999, Pope John Paul II's Great Jubilee will begin with a midnight mass in celebration of the birth of Christ, accompanied by the opening of the Holy Door at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. The Year of Jubilee will end on January 6, 2001 (Feast of the Epiphany) at which time the Holy Door will again be sealed. This event has been described by the Pope as a SYMBOL which will begin a year of grace and reconciliation for the whole Church and all HUMANITY: ". . . The holy door of the Jubilee of the Year 2000 should be SYMBOLICALLY wider than those of previous jubilees, because HUMANITY, upon reaching this goal, will leave behind not just a century but a millennium. It is fitting that the church should make this passage with a clear awareness of what has happened to her during the last 10 centuries. She cannot cross the threshold of the new millennium without encouraging her children to purify themselves, through repentance, of past errors and instances of infidelity, inconsistency and slowness to act. . . ." (As the Third Millennium Draws Near (Tertio Mellennio Adveniente), Apostolic Letter of Pope John Paul II released on November 14, 1994; caps mine). "The UNITY of ALL divided HUMANITY is the will of God. . . . This is the basis not only of the duty, but also of the responsibility before God and his plan, which falls to those who through Baptism become members of the Body of Christ, a Body in which the fullness of reconciliation and communion must be made present. . . . Division 'openly contradicts the will of Christ, provides a stumbling block to the world, and inflicts damage on the most holy cause of proclaiming the Good News to every creature'" (That They May Be One (Ut Unum Sint), Encyclical of Pope John Paul II promulgated on May 25, 1995, #5. Quote cited from SECOND VATICAN ECUMENICAL COUNCIL, Decree on Ecumenism Unitatis Redintegratio, 1; caps mine). "The preparation for the Jubilee Year 2000 is thus taking place throughout the whole church, on the universal and local levels . . . the value of penance and reconciliation in the life of the church and of HUMANITY in general" (Third Millennium, #21; caps mine). "One thing is certain: Everyone is asked to do as much as possible to ensure that the great challenge of the year 2000 is not overlooked, for this challenge certainly involves a special grace of the Lord for the church and for the WHOLE OF HUMANITY" (Third Millennium, #55; caps mine). Notice the terminology: "The Holy Door of the Jubilee of the Year 2000 should be SYMBOLICALLY wider than those of previous jubilees" and "The UNITY of all divided HUMANITY is the will of God": "Why is the 'Holy Door' opened in the Jubilee? The reason lies in its SYMBOLISM" (Jerusalem - towards the Jubilee Year 2000, Orginal text in Italian by Oscar Battaglia, © copyright Edizioni Porziuncola, Assisi Translated by Lionel Goh, SBF - Hong Kong Courtesy of Edizioni Porziuncola, Assisi; caps mine). Note that: 1. The Pope is not just speaking of reconciliation of differences between Catholics. 2. The Pope is not just speaking of reconciliation with denominations. 3. The Pope is not just speaking of reconciliation with non-Christian religions. 4. The Pope is speaking of the reconciliation of THE WHOLE CHURCH, with the view that ALL HUMANITY would one day be that Church through the efforts of the whole church. Thus, the opening of the Holy Door to begin Jubilee is for those who have put their everything into bringing this about, and for those who have just come along for what they can get out of it. Do I really believe the Pope can reconcile differences between ALL humanity? No, not any more than the Revival can harvest all Christians into the Revival, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the proportions don’t turn out to be about the same. However, this is what the statements by the Pope are pointing to: UNITY AMONG all the churches under Rome and THEN a global HARVEST of HUMANITY, which is the same emphasis we find in the Revival. Where is the effort for global unity heading? Toward the consummation of the ages, to meet "the Lord" who comes. The Catholic Church wants reconciliation. The Revival wants reconciliation. The pagan world wants reconciliation. The remainder of the world's citizenry wants reconciliation. Everybody wants love, unity and therefore peace. The Jubilee in Rome will draw enough people desiring reconciliation to open the door of RECONCILIATION FOR THE WHOLE CHURCH (HUMANITY), and that door, that SYMBOL will be opened by the Pope himself to initiate a unity this world has never seen. In that OPENING OF THE HOLY DOOR, all will ENTER together into this unity through a raising of the consciousness of humanity based on love without truth. An opening of a Holy Door will also take place in the Baton Rouge diocese, as described in this news report: "Bishop Blesses, Seals 'Jubilee Door' "By Laura Deavers, Editor "Bishop Alfred C. Hughes blessed and seated a special 'Jubilee Door' at St. Joseph Cathedral in Baton Rouge on November 29, 1998, the First Sunday of Advent. "The Cathedral's westernmost front door will remain sealed until Midnight Mass for Christmas 1999. ". . . . since most Catholics will be unable to make a pilgrimage to Rome, people are encouraged to designate a door in their own home as a holy door. They are also asked to undertake a symbolic 'pilgrimage of the heart' to prepare for the Jubilee Year. "The theme of the Jubilee 2000 celebration is 'Open Wide the Doors to Christ,' and the Blessing and Sealing of the door at St. Joseph Cathedral is the first of several events planned to mark the Third Millennium of Christianity in this diocese" (The Catholic Commentator, the official newspaper of the Diocese of Baton Rouge, December 2, 1998). In scouring the Internet, it became obvious to me that this symbol of opening the Holy Door will be replayed in the dioceses and homes of Catholics across the country. The "Door" Of Unity We are familiar with the coming together of denominations and Catholicism in the 1960's, the Catholic/Evangelical agreements, and other such meetings of the minds. The Pope has mobilized the Catholic laity to go out to the world in a major evangelization effort, and the Revival has done likewise. And through the AD2000 movement, the denominations and independents, along with Catholics, have mounted a global effort to evangelize the world together by the year 2000 to advance and make manifest the kingdom of God. On top of it all, there doesn't seem to be a segment of Christianity that Pope John Paul II has not approached with at least some success in seeking to bring about the unity of all under Rome. These moves have brought about an escalation in the desire for unity by churches and people throughout the world. I don’t think we have yet realized what this will mean when a corporate entity, engulfed in rising emotions, begins to experience a very real spiritual harvest. I can't help but think of Cardinal Suenens' significant statement in the early days of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal: "The drive toward unity among Christians seems irreversible; we may hope that the hour is not far off. The first millennium was, with some exceptions, the era of the undivided Church. The second, from 1054 until now, has seen the Church torn asunder. We are permitted to be confident with hope founded in God and in the progress of theology that the third millennium will see the restoration of full unity and full communion" ("A New Pentecost"). In that same time period, Catholic Father James Bertalucci, as keynote speaker at a Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship International's World Convention of Pentecostals meeting in Orlando, Florida, said: "I want to tell you something, brothers and sisters. When the SLEEPING GIANT OF ROME comes alive, watch out world. . . . especially in a day and age where we can cooperate and collaborate in winning the world for Jesus Christ" (caps mine). Compare this with an excerpt from a Revival "Prophetic word for 99/2000" concerning the "Sleeping Giant": "The SLEEPING GIANT that is my Body will shake off the chains that bound it and will rise up as a mighty warrior, going forth to conquer. And the gates of hell shall tremble as my body arises in power and goes forth as one. . . (caps mine). "Therefore shall the new millenium bring forth a new church, with a new power and a new structure. But it will be like the first church. It will go forth in power. Only this time the church will arise in every nation. My body shall extend to every country" ("The Lord" to Len Crause, Global Ministry Resource Network). Although prophecies of this nature contain some ambiguity, we must at least inquire, Will this 'new church" in actuality be Catholicism uniting with the rest of Christianity? Will this "new power" be a doubling, tripling or quadrupling of present forces through the unity of these entities' spirits? Will the "new structure" be some form of unity of the two hierarchies? Or doesn't the combined unity effort have anything to do with these areas, when everything else has up to now? The following Revival prophecy from June 28, 1999 becomes a concern as it fits our theme. Although it also is ambiguous in part, the prophecy contains the same symbols we are discussing: "Behold the time is at hand says the Lord, that I will begin a new work, and a new plan, and a new way. And indeed this is not a new way, but a return to the correct way. Yet it has taken a time of preparation and many things have needed to come into place before this could happen. For just as the Son of Man came to the earth in the fullness of time, so shall my new plan come in the fullness of time says the Lord. And the time is at hand, yes it is just around the corner, and the door that has stood shut for so long is finally beginning to move on its hinges to reveal this new thing that I have planned for my Body. "Therefore I have raised up at this time those who are the keepers of the gate, who hold in their hands the key that unlocks the door. And I have called my prophets to come forth at this time, to rally together to the task that lies ahead. For the door is huge and the task is great, therefore it will take much preparation and ground laying for it to be accomplished. I have hidden this away for so long, that the enemy cannot interfere with it, nor block it in any way. But the time is at hand, and it cannot be kept veiled any longer. It is time for manifestation. It is time for the servants of the Most High God to show themselves to the world and to the princes of this world. It is time for my army of gladiators to rise up and conquer says the Lord" (A New Thing, A prophetic word concerning the coming apostolic move of God, Prophetic word delivered by Les Crause). The AD 2000 movement has a call that parallels the Pope's concerning a Jubilee in the new millennium: "Really, the final, and probably it's the most important image of the year 2000 I like to speak of is Jubilee 2000. This image looks at the year 2000 as a common meal. It looks at, ah, like the ancient Jewish society, it used to start all over again in 50 years. It looks at the year 2000 as a second chance, a second wind, for the Church and for the human planet" (Jay Gary, THE POWER OF AD 2000, tape transcript). This "second chance" for the church, brought about through the cooperation and collaboration in evangelism envisioned by Father Bertalucci, will be like the first church, which is the goal of the Pope, and about which 17th century mystic Jane Lead prophesied. Is it coincidence that the "sleeping giant" rising and bringing about a "new" structure with a "new" power in a "new" church is already occurring in our midst, through the actions of Rome? The Holy Door - A Universal Symbol What is "the door" to the true Christian? The true door is a "Who," not a "what": Jesus Christ crucified (John 10:7-10) through whom we return to the Father on the basis of His shed blood, resurrection and sending of the Holy Spirit. But the Catholic Holy Door is a universal symbol of THE reconciliation of THE CHURCH, meaning a return to Rome. The idea is to bring everyone through this door as a corporate body, and what will finally unite these parts is a doctrine. The Manifest Sons doctrine is founded on the hope of a corporate body resulting from a completed birth, one who "ascends" to the throne of God, the manchild (Rev. 12) who rules a united world. We know the Revival is founded on this doctrine, but is this any different concerning Rome? In Part Six of "The Corporate Child Manifested: The Corporate Christ," I wrote of this same thing in regards to the Catholic belief about the Sacrament of Communion: "Dave Hunt quotes Vatican II about Communion and the Eucharist: "’.. . . in the Eucharist we become PARTAKERS OF THE BODY AND BLOOD of God's only Son . . . [and] THE PARTAKING OF the Body and Blood of Christ HAS NO LESS EFFECT THAN TO CHANGE US INTO WHAT WE HAVE RECEIVED.' "Read it again. That is MANIFEST SONS TEACHING! INCARNATION! IMMORTALITY! The Pope wants full unity and communion, and Vatican II says we BECOME WHAT THE BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST IS - that's INCARNATION of one new man physically indwelt by the Spirit of A NEW Pentecost! The language of the Latter Rain doctrine is not foreign to the Catholic Charismatic Renewal's New Pentecost. In an article originally published in the March/April 1978 edition of New Covenant magazine and now found in 'Good News,' the newsletter for the Catholic Renewal published by the National Service Committee in England (Jan/Feb 1995), we read: "'But something new has happened to us in the charismatic renewal. When we were baptized in the Spirit, we experienced a God who does make a difference. . . . The revelation of Jesus - his words, his actions - is not just a bunch of separate fragments cast out for the winds to carry wherever chance leads them. THERE IS A PLAN TO THIS REVELATION; it builds up TO something. God is not manifesting himself in a random or chaotic way with no ultimate purpose. "'. . . The Body of Christ, the Bride of Christ, The New Temple, The New Israel, and so on. All of them indicate that God's purpose in manifesting Himself to mankind is to create A CORPORATE REALITY made up of Christians in union with Christ. "'The Word of life MADE MANIFEST is ultimately, then, this single corporate reality, The One new Man'" (http://www.ncinter.net/~ejt/corpchr3.htm). The same New Age themes have been surfacing in so many areas of the Revival and the Roman Catholic Church that it's become very noticeable. I have mentioned some here, but there are others. Just to mention a few that should be obvious to any discerner of the times: love (without truth), unity, peace, tolerance, scriptural perversions, the use of like symbols, the changing of Christ and His work, "new" revelations, unbiblical prophecy, a final harvest, establishment of one kingdom, identificational repentance, a like-hierarchal system, the calling forth of the "laity" to go into all the world and take the "Good News" to every creature, an expectation of "the Lord's" return, a desire to return to the power of the early church, MSOG doctrine, the statement that the gates of hell won't prevail, the same timing, the same door, the same holiday, the same Jubilee, the same entering in together, the same "sleeping Giant." If you think about these and others, you can make the association yourself. Remember that when a symbol is used effectively, there can be a power behind it that is activated and brings about change. What we must realize is that, with the opening of the Holy Door on Christmas Eve, 1999, the unification of the world's religions with Rome will at least begin. In the next part, I'll repeat some of Jane Lead's words because of her reference to a "Golden Key" in the hands of a future pope. This is significant because of another word spoken in a 14th century Catholic vision, which I will discuss next. Continued in part 3.
