LESSONS IN FORGIVENESS
Through the years I have been presented with many opportunities to forgive. Sometimes the situation was so severe that it took me some time to forgive and start the process of healing for myself, and eventually for others. I learned that a Christian needs to forgive other people even if they have not repented of their sins. That can be really hard if we let it be hard. But if we give our burdens over to the Lord, He will carry them and that frees us up to treat other people with love, compassion, and be in the right frame of mind and heart to set them up for reconciliation with Jesus Christ. That does not mean we tolerate their sin. We simply forgive them for what they have done to us, whether perceived or real, and move on to looking for ways to redeem them. We can then present to them the "truth in love" even when we have to rebuke them. - Sandy Simpson

That so many churches and Christians would follow the teachings of a classic liberal named Brian McLaren, sometimes without even knowing it, shows an incredible lack of discernment. We have been warning the churches about the Emergent Church movement spearheaded by people like McLaren and his colleagues such as Leonard Sweet and others who are out to completely reshape postmodern Christianity in their own image and ideology. Remind you of a politician who is trying to do this to the USA? The churches today are starting to mirror the corruption of the world and politics. Unless the churches get back on track by obeying the law of Christ and His written Word they are in danger of having their lampstands removed, if they haven't been already.
Rev. 2:5 Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.

Many emerging church leaders are suggesting the need to study the ideas and beliefs of church leaders of the post-disciple era. They say if pastors and church leaders reintroduce these teachings from the past, we will have spiritual transformation and successful churches in the 21st century. But wait a minute! If the church that emerged from the New Testament church was based on ideas and beliefs foreign to Scripture, why would we want to emulate a previous error? When doctrines of men replace the doctrine of Scripture, many are led astray. It has happened in the past, and it is happening now. Following doctrine not based on the Word of God always results in the undoing of faith. (from Faith Undone, ch. 5, pp. 77-80).
