From Church To Emerging Church

The issue of the Emerging Church and it's introduction into many churches and mission organizations has reached a critical point.  Many do not undersand what is being leavened into churches by the EC leadership.  Many would be shocked to know their belief systems involve Universalism, New Age, defense of postmodernism, Interfaithism, and many other false doctrines.  In order to reach out to this generation the EC leadership is proposing a whole new "map" to deal with what they perceive is a lack of understanding on the part of the churches on how to communicate.  EC proponants believe the "scripture" for today is evolving and must change in order to reach postmoderns.

Proclaiming The Gospel

Proclaiming the Gospel Ministries

was established in 1991 by Mike Gendron to serve and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ by equipping and encouraging Christians to proclaim the Gospel clearly, faithfully and effectively. The ministry also exposes the fatal errors of Roman Catholicism and apostate Christianity, along with other faith movements such as the emerging church, purpose driven church and the church growth movement. We also proclaim the soon return of the Lord Jesus Christ and exhort believers to contend earnestly for the faith until that glorious day.

Dear All,

There has been an upsurge of pragmatism and "Christian" magic in the churches ever since Benny Hinn and the Toronto Blessing took center stage around the world.  Read the articles featured in this newsletter for information on these issues.  Also read our New Apostolic and Word of Faith sections of the ACT site and some older articles on this subject such as the following:

Divination Finds Further Expression In The Evangelical Church

by Orrel Steinkamp, The Plumbline, Volume 9, No. 3, June/July

There are many, many more articles I could give you on this subject, but the fact of the matter is in the new "extreme prophetic" we are seeing the next generation of Christian shamanism through churches like Bethel Church in Redding, CA, Todd Bentley and many others arising from the New Apostolic Reformation/Third Wave, Word of Faith and many other streams.

Sorcery in the Roman Catholic Church

by Matt SlickChristian Apologetics & Research

CARM, 1/21/11

Sorcery is the manipulation of the spiritual realm (or occult natural laws) through rituals and words to obtain a specific result in the physical world.  When a certain formula is performed and a certain result is automatically achieved, that is sorcery.  Some call it magic. In the Roman Catholic church there are certain rituals where doing a specific formula has a specific result.  Following are three quotes from official Roman Catholic Sources that demonstrate a type of sorcery.

Prayer Papers and Power Encounters
by Pastor Larry DeBruyn, 1/24/11Guarding His Flock Ministries

Of this incident, one commentator writes: "These healings did occur, but to imitate them--as some media evangelists have been wont to do with 'prayer cloths' or other 'prayed-over' trinkets sent through the mail--is to reduce miracle to magic, or impersonal manipulation . . ."

The Handkerchief Phenomenon - Addendum To "A Whole Lot Of Wishful Thinking These Days"
by Sandy Simpson, 1/24/11ACT Logo 2

There is a new phenomenon especially among some island churches where handkerchiefs are being handed around a congregation claiming that they have an anointing that can cause people to be healed and other miraculous things happen to them.   The problem with this idea is especially evident in two things: (1) that this can and is being considered by many to be Christian magic and (2) that it is being taught as being something that should be a normal part of the Christian experience.  It is taught that if you have faith you will believe in touching the handkerchief that you will be healed, freed from demons, or get a special anointing.

Face to Face: A Dialogue with Jesus by Lloyd Gardner
Reviewed by Pastor Larry DeBruynDiscernment Ministries

Gardner's book contains truth. But when compared to Scripture, the truth is mixed with error, something that ought to concern Bible believers. About mixing truth and untruth, Harry Ironside (1876-1951) wrote: "Error is like leaven of which we read, "A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump." Truth mixed with error is equivalent to all error, except that it is more innocent looking and, therefore, more dangerous. God hates such a mixture! Any error, or any truth-and-error mixture, calls for definite exposure and repudiation. To condone such is to be unfaithful to God and His Word and treacherous to imperiled souls for whom Christ died." We turn to discern the errors in Face to Face.
