When Contender Ministries profiles cults or religious groups, we do so because they adhere to beliefs that deny the need for salvation, or they teach the wrong way to achieve salvation. Believers in these religions are being deceived. In Matthew 24:24, Jesus said, "For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect--if that were possible." 1 John 4:1 says, "Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world." In 2 Corinthians 11:14, Paul tells us that even Satan can masquerade as an angel of light. It is the will of God that no one should be deceived. At the end of the Book of Matthew, Jesus gives His followers what is called "The Great Commission." Jesus said, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." These are the marching orders that Christians obey by evangelizing, or sharing our faith with others. Because God loves all people, He has commanded His followers to love all people. And because of this love, Contender Ministries endeavors to expose the false teachings of false religions, while at the same time showing the true path to salvation. Since we believe that those who die without accepting the gift of eternal life through faith in Jesus are doomed to an eternity in hell, the most hateful thing we could do would be to keep this message all to ourselves.

Dear All,
The biblical definition of revival is that it is a time of refreshing following repentance.
Acts 3:19 "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord ...

| by Paul Smith Reviewed by Jackie Alnor
Paul Smith's book, "New Evangelicalism," records the history of the rise and fall of Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. This is the arena where the battle for the Bible was fought and lost to liberal theologians. Fuller's fall is a fall from grace, not a fall from success in the world's eyes, but certainly in the realm of Truth.

During the last half of the 20th century, at the same time period the apostle/prophets claim God was doing mighty restorations and revivals, America aborted tens of millions of babies. Babies became inconveniences, not blessings. There was a moral landslide into filth. And, as we poignantly documented at the beginning of this article, Christians slid right along with the rest of culture. Old doctrines that used to be taught disappeared, or evolved to become more palatable for modern life. The culture became de-Christianized, and in many cases outright pagan. Christians gradually stopped acting as salt and light, by saturating the culture with their positive effect of holy living and righteousness. Instead they adopted the leaven of spiritual and political Dominionism, which may have assuaged their guilt, but did little to spread the Gospel message. There was no revival. There is no revival. There can be no revival without repentance.

| by T.A. McMahon The Berean Call, 11/1/11
When I speak to young Christian adults, whether they are in the workplace or in college, a message that I hope encourages them concerns God's willingness to guide their lives if that is their desire. I use His involvement in my own life throughout my 67 years as an example. The following is an abridged version of God's gracious guidance, much of it well before I came to know Him personally.

| by John MacArthur Reviewed by Gary Gilley
In MacArthur's preparation for writing his book Truth War he found a common theme throughout much of his reading: "That if Christians want to reach unbelieving people in a postmodern culture, we need to be less militant, less aggressive, less preachy and less sure of our own convictions" (p. ix). MacArthur determined as a result to write this volume to show that Jesus' approach was just the opposite. Click here to read this article! |
