"Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." (2 Timothy 4:2-4) Sadly, it has become quite obvious that the time has already come. Openly preferring the fables of man's imagination to the doctrinal truth of God's Word, today's shifting Christianity is heaping to itself teachers to scratch its itching ears. People are choosing to be led in "a way that seemeth right unto a man" rather than in the way that is right unto God as set forth by God in the Word of God. In Leonard Sweet's 2009 book, So Beautiful: Divine Design for Life and the Church, which, sadly, is just as anti-truth, anti-God, anti-Christ as everything else that caters to today's epidemic of itching ears, this "[r]enowned professor and theologian" -who has worked for "years as a mentor to pastors" and "is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences, state conventions, pastors' schools, retreats" as well as "a consultant to many denominational leaders and agencies" -asks a question that effectively sums up the new way of thinking: "What if we were to think connectness rather than correctness?"

The International Coalition of Apostolic Leaders is the world's largest network of New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) apostles, with hundreds of members from many nations. When I was on their website recently, I noticed a link to a newly formed group, the International Coalition of Prophets. This group of prophets has formed an alliance with the International Coalition of Apostolic Leaders and, thus, shares their "4 R vision": Restoration of the Church, Reconciliation, Revival, Reformation. |

The attraction of signs and wonders has reached a pinnacle in the church. What we hear is that all power that was given to Jesus is also given to the church. No, All power is given to Jesus alone (Mt.28), he does not share this power with sinful men. The idea that everyone in the church can do the same miracles or greater, exceeding the apostles is absurd. You can't do what Jesus did if you don't know what Jesus actually said Are we to judge or test the miracles men claim to do? Yes. How are we to do this? By their doctrine. What do they teach, do they present the real gospel? How many that are in the signs and wonders movement actually take the time to explain the gospel to do the great commission? This is what Jesus said ALL believers can do, give the gospel message. The gospel is not all the words in Scripture, but certain words. So many think the gospel is the whole New Testament, the gospels letters, book of Acts and the Epistles, it is not. It is the message of reconciliation contained in the Scripture: the death burial and resurrection (1 Cor.15:1-4). It is also about Jesus' deity, that he the son of God, God who came in the flesh. When was the last time you heard teaching from these men who claim to have power to heal on how to give the gospel? They go around and claim they can heal everyone, the stories are endless but they can't give the gospel to cure their soul?

| The First and Final Deception |

We need to show our children how to be in the world but not of the world. We can be God's ambassadors in an increasingly corrupt land, but we cannot allow its darkness to quench His light in us. We can demonstrate God's concern for the poor, but we can't compromise with a counterfeit social gospel and New Age solutions.
