How To Find A Good Church by Sandy Simpson, 2003Here's how to find a good church. What you need to find is a church that not only has orthodox doctrinal statements but teaches, both explicitly and implicitly, in line with the core doctrines of the Faith. These are Bible-believing Christ-centered churches that are balanced in their theology. Be sure to test all churches before you become involved. It is acceptable to get involved with a house church or Bible study as long as there is someone who has the gift of teaching there to lead the study of God's Word. Hebrews 10:25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near. The Christian life is not one to be lived alone. Trust me; I have sympathy for those who have been spiritually injured by false churches, false prophets, false teachers and false apostles. It is often a long road back from the diaprax of heresy. But to undo the brainwashing you will need help, especially from those who are already ahead of you on your journey back. The first century church was known for the following: Acts 2:42 They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. This is a good gauge to tell if you are involved in an effective assembly of believers, no matter how small. Remember that the first century churches were in homes. In my experience smaller churches are much better at doing the above and more. Avoid mega churches.

Does God Want Us To Love Ourselves? |
by The Berean Call, 8/3/19
The Bible never tells us to love ourselves. Now in the second- "the second commandment is like unto it: Love your neighbor as yourself." Well, obviously Jesus is not saying, "Love your neighbor as you inadequately love yourself. You don't love yourself very well, but I want you to love your neighbor like you don't love yourself well enough." That's the impression you get from the people who are teaching self-love. We even have seminars-special teaching in the church-on "you've got to love yourself before you can love your neighbor or you can love God." But Jesus doesn't say that. He says, "Love your neighbor like you already love yourself." So, apparently, we don't have any problem in that department. In fact, rather than teaching self-love, Jesus is saying, "What do you do in the morning when you get up? You brush your teeth, you comb your hair, you feed yourself, you clothe yourself-give your neighbor some of the attention that you are already giving to yourself. How about paying a little attention to your neighbor? Love your neighbor like you already love yourself." So, He is not teaching self-love. He is, in fact, correcting self-love.

Ameritopia (Book) |
The Tyranny of Utopia (Partial Chapter 1) "Where utopianism is advanced through gradualism rather than revolution, albeit steady and persistent as in democratic societies, it can deceive and disarm an unsuspecting population, which is largely content and passive. It is sold as reforming and improving the existing society's imperfections and weaknesses without imperiling its basic nature. Under these conditions, it is mostly ignored, dismissed, or tolerated by much of the citizenry and celebrated by some. Transformation is deemed innocuous, well-intentioned, and perhaps constructive but not a dangerous trespass on fundamental liberties." -- Mark R. Levin, Ameritopia: The Unmaking of America

Beware: Mindfulness Meditation, Especially for Children, is Dangerous |
by Lighthouse Trails, 8/2/19
As a fast-growing number of public schools are incorporating mindfulness meditation into the lives of the school children, few seem aware of just how dangerous meditation can be, especially for children. The following is an extract from our 2018 booklet on mindfulness as a reminder to parents and grandparents. Numerous research reports show that meditation can be dangerous, especially for the vulnerable and weak (a category in which children fit). A preface to an article titled "Meditation is Touted as a Cure for Mental Instability but Can It Actually Be Bad for You" written by Dr. Miguel Farias* states: If it's so powerful, might meditation also do harm to sensitive souls? [While] researching a mass murder, Dr. Miguel Farias discovered that, far from bringing inner peace, [meditation] can leave devotees in pieces.
