Jesus Cares for You by Sandy Simpson
Read Passage: John 6:1-15
The story of the feeding of the 5000 is found in all the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John. When something is repeated in the Bible it means that it is important and is something we must try to understand. There is often a deeper meaning in sentences or stories that are repeated.
In this same story repeated in Mark 6:34 it says:
"When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things."
One of the main things that Jesus is... is compassionate. He cares for His people. He was compassionate then and He is still compassionate today. Jesus came and saw the needs of the people. So He did two things. He met their physical need of hunger for bread, and He also met their spiritual hunger for the bread of life. As Jesus told us in John ... He is the bread of life. The Bible, the Word of God, being the word of the Father and the Son, is also the bread of life. Jesus is the living example of the Word as it also says in John "The Word was made flesh
and lived among us".

Louie Giglio is an extremely popular megachurch pastor and author as well as the founder and leader of the Passion conferences, which have drawn in hundreds of thousands of mostly young people since 1997.(1) On the week of March 16th, Giglio (a Calvinist) was a guest on emergent social-justice "Gospel" advocate Ian Morgan Cron's Enneagram podcast. A week later, part 2 of the interview took place. While it of no great surprise that Giglio (who has shown himself to be part of the ecumenical, "new" spirituality in more ways than one(2)) would form an attachment to Morgan Cron's Enneagram, it is most unfortunate: because of Giglio's vast following, the Enneagram has now received a substantial thumbs up in the evangelical world, especially among young evangelicals. So not only are Giglio's followers being influenced by Calvinism and the New Spirituality, they are also being led into New Age-rooted practices. For those who are unfamiliar with the Enneagram, Lighthouse Trails released a booklet in October of 2019 titled The Enneagram-An Enlightening Tool or an Enticing Deception?.

| Earth Day and a Christian Perspective on the Environment |

While it may seem odd to some that Islam and Roman Catholicism are joining hands, it is becoming more and more acceptable to the millennial generation who have been taught that texting is better than talking and reading. They have also been taught that there is no right or wrong and that Christianity and Islam or any other religion belong in the same camp. Even the gods of the pagans qualify for the new spirituality within the boundary of what is called modern-day Christianity.

In our time lies seem to be everywhere, in every facet of society. There is an increase of confusion which exemplifies that we live in a day of increasing evil. And because of the increasing darkness it can become harder to distinguish what is right from wrong. It can be frustrating trying to distinguish or explain matters of importance. We should be able to explain why someone is wrong about something without berating them calling them names to humiliate their intelligence, education, spirituality or reputation. This shows someone is immature and is unable to walk away from a disagreement and not turn it into a feud. We are told Col 4:5-6 " Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one." Wisdom is applying knowledge which must come first. Prov. 2:10 " When wisdom enters your heart, and knowledge is pleasant to your soul " Prov. 3:13 " Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding " Wisdom is peaceable not antagonistic. It may offend some by speaking what is true, as James 3:13-18 tells us, " Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace."
