Testing Music In The Church
by Sandy Simpson
This DVD is a message based on these articles: Testing
Music In The Church, Testing
Music In The Church-Part 2, and Worship
Song Ratings.
Too many churches today are allowing music to be used
in their services that is not glorifying to the Lord and can actually be
a hindrance to the teaching of sound doctrine. Pastors and leaders should
be using their leadership role to test what is being played and sung in
their churches. Though some are quick to test preaching and teaching from
their pulpits, many ignore the music being used in the same services. This
is a tragic mistake. Music is a powerful medium. It is something that effects
deeply the body, mind and emotions. It is a proven fact that music often
stays with a person far longer than what is taught or preached. Songs roam
around in our heads, especially if the melody appeals to us. What is often
overlooked is the serious impression music makes on people, and the teaching
they are getting over and over again as they allow the song to repeat in
their minds and on their lips. Music teaches things much more subtly yet
sometimes far more effectively. That's why the lyrical content of music
in the church, as well as its effect on the spiritual lives of those who
perform and listen, should be vigorously examined by the leaders of the
church. This is a 2-DVD set.

Examine Yourselves & Hold On!
by Sandy Simpson
This DVD is a message based on the articles "Examine
Yourself To See If You Are In The Faith" and "Hold
On!"
2 Cor. 13:5 Examine yourselves to see whether
you are in the faith; test yourselves.
Do you not realise that Christ Jesus is in you— unless,
of course, you fail the test?
People who call themselves followers of Christ or "Christians"
and claim they are born again must believe certain things. If they
do not then they fail the test of faith. They can claim they are
born again all they want and "once saved, always saved" but if they fail
the test of faith there is no eternal security. Only God knows who
will be saved, from beginning to end, because of His foreknowledge and
omniscience (Rom. 8:29, 1 Pet. 1:2). God did not make an arbitrary
judgment about who would be saved and who would not. His Spirit is
given to those He foreknew, when convicted of sin by His Holy Spirit, would
choose to believe and commit themselves to Jesus Christ. We are not
God and we do not have His omniscience. Therefore, according to Paul,
we must be sure our belief system is in the right place once our eyes have
been opened to the Truth. I am not saying we do not have assurance
of salvation, but our assurance comes not only because of His Atonement
and promises of salvation but from our continuing in the Faith, which is
always the Biblical criteria. Those who would be Bible teachers must teach
according to the whole counsel of God's Word. Let me be clear. There
is only one way to salvation. That is by grace alone through
faith alone in Christ alone. I will deal with a few of those issues
following, but it is important to recognize that being saved is not just
a matter of believing that Jesus lived, or that He was a man, or simply
giving mental ascent to His existence in whatever form.

"Blasphemizing" The Bible
by Sandy Simpson
This DVD is a message based on this
article.
I am going to go over an article I wrote back in 2006
in preparation for the book I wrote with Mike Oppenheimer called “Idolatry
in Their Hearts”. This book is an apologetic against the false teachings
of the World Christian Gathering on Indigenous People movement, the Emerging
Church and the New Apostolic Reformation which got their ideas from the
book “Eternity in Their Hearts” by Don Richardson. At the time that
book came out no one really saw the dangerous ideas Richardson was promoting.
All they would have had to do was look at the two subtitles of that book
to understand the implications. The first subtitle in the 1981 edition
read: The Untold Story of Christianity among Folk Religions of Ancient
People. Those who read this book found some interesting cross-cultural
ideas but apparently missed the false premise of the book starting with
the subtitle. How could Christianity be “among folk religions” where the
Gospel had not been preached (Rom. 10:14-15)? At that time Christians who
read the book were apparently satisfied that, though there was some questionable
material present, it made for an interesting discussion on how to do cross-cultural
ministry. The subtitle it has today, which was first published in 1984,
is as follows: Startling Evidence of Belief in the One True God in Hundreds
of Cultures Throughout the World. This should have been a red flag
for many Christians but then, who reads subtitles? But how could
the “One True God” be known to Gentiles who, the Bible states, did “not
know God”.

Resources For Pastors
including
"Good English Bible Translations"
by Sandy Simpson
This DVD is a message based on this
article.
I was talking with a pastor after a Wednesday night service
and he mentioned that I said I had done an article comparing English Bible
translations. He called me up later and asked me to come back and
present the contents of that article I sent out in about 2002 to my mailing
list for the Pacific Waves Newsletter which, unfortunately, I can no longer
afford to publish and mail. However an archive of past issues of
that newsletter can be found here.
In that article I detailed a number of good and bad resources for pastors
including Bible translations, concordances, commentaries, Bible dictionaries,
etc. I present an edited version of part of that article on this
DVD, particularly dealing with English Translations of the Bible.
Translation is a very detailed endeavor and should only be undertaken by
those with a proper education in that subject and a sound doctrinal background.
I read a few books on that subject and it helped me understand the complexities
involved. Hebrew is a rich language so it is hard to distill one
Hebrew word down to one English word. Greek is a very technical language
and it is also not easy to translate. This is why it is imperative
to use the good English translations out there for comparison along with
a good concordance and Bible dictionary.

A TALE OF TWO KINGDOMS
Kingdom Now or Kingdom Come?
by Sandy Simpson
This DVD is a message based on this
article.
There are two kingdoms being taught in many churches today.
Teaching about one of the kingdoms is on the decline while the other is
being promoted all over the place. I am warning Christians that they
need to check out who is using the word "kingdom", the books they have
been reading and recommend on building "the kingdom", the people they have
been hanging out with at conferences, and what they mean by "the kingdom".

A Whole Lot Of Wishful Thinking These Days!
by Sandy Simpson
This DVD series is a teaching based on this
article.
In this DVD series I want to detail a number of beliefs
people have these days that have no basis in Scripture. I am going
to roam all over the map, so to speak, and try to give fairly short answers
on a number of topics and also give you useful links to articles that will
help you deal with any particular issue. It is truly amazing how
many false ideas people cling to without giving a thought to what the Bible
has to say on the subject.

From Church To Emerging Church DVD Series
by Sandy Simpson
The issue of the Emerging Church and it's introduction
into many churches and mission organizations has reached a critical point.
Many do not undersand what is being leavened into churches by the EC leadership.
Many would be shocked to know their belief systems involve Universalism,
New Age, defense of postmodernism, Interfaithism, and many other false
doctrines. In order to reach out to this generation the EC leadership
is proposing a whole new "map" to deal with what they perceive is a lack
of understanding on the part of the churches on how to communicate.
EC proponants believe the "scripture" for today is evolving and must change
in order to reach postmoderns.

Idolatry In Their Hearts
Landmark Book!
by Sandy Simpson & Mike
Oppenheimer
Does having eternity in your heart mean that you know
God and are His child? Could Gentile cultures understand the Gospel from
the stars? Did God create man's cultures? Has God always been in the process
of redeeming cultures from the time of Babel by placing in them a true
revelation of Himself? Is there the worship of YHWH in all cultures and
religions through the names of supreme beings? Have all cultures
always had a way to make things right between them and God? These questions
and many more are answered in this book that addresses the false teachings
of The New Apostolic Reformation regarding missiological methods as being
carried out by many agencies including the World Christian Gathering on
Indigenous People, YWAM, and many Bible societies.

Lessons In Forgiveness
Great Study!
by Sandy Simpson
Through the years I have been
presented with many opportunities to forgive. Sometimes the situation was
so severe that it took me some time to forgive and start the process of
healing for myself, and eventually for others. I learned that a Christian
needs to forgive other people even if they have not repented of their sins.
That can be really hard if we let it be hard. But if we give our burdens
over to the Lord, He will carry them and that frees us up to treat other
people with love, compassion, and be in the right frame of mind and heart
to set them up for reconciliation with Jesus Christ. That does not mean
we tolerate their sin. We simply forgive them for what they have done to
us, whether perceived or real, and move on to looking for ways to redeem
them. We can then present to them the "truth in love" even when we have
to rebuke them.

Articles
on Ecumenism and interfaith "unity".
(1)
The
"Evangelicals and Catholics Together" Document
"A formal declaration boldly documents the Evangelical and Catholic
commitment to work together to evangelize and bring about social reform
in the world. The
Evangelicals and Catholics Together: The Christian Mission in the Third
Millennium has, in effect, laid the groundwork for Evangelicals to
set aside their distinctive doctrines and unite with the Catholic Church
and other religions which are coming together by 2000 A.D." Also

(3) Billy Graham Interview
With Robert Schuller by Joseph R. Chambers, D.D., 1998
This unfortunate interview was conducted by Rev. Robert Schuller in
1997. For a copy of the video tape this interview came from,
call Robert Schuller Today at 1-800-9POWER9, and order the $20 video tape
of the May 31, 1997 (Program #1426) Hour of Power TV broadcast message
titled, "Say 'Yes' To Possibility Thinking." Please note that the
corresponding $5 audio tape DOES NOT contain the interview with Billy Graham
- i.e., you really have to cough up the $20 if you want to see this evidence
that one of the men God has used to bring countless millions to salvation
has now given in to the spirit of the age, the spirit of false unity called
Ecumenism and Inter-Faith. We must pray for people like Billy Graham,
whom God has used in the past to preach the message of the gospel, but
is now old and is apparently being misled by people who are wolves in sheep's
clothing. We do not agree with Graham's stance on ecumenism nor do
we endorse his practice of sending new believers back to apostate churches.
For more evidence that Billy Graham is either losing his critical faculties
or is just plain deceived, read Billy
Graham's Disobedience To The Word Of God. For his ecumenical view
of RCC, read Billy
Graham & His Bible. For other quotes from crusades and
articles, read Billy
Graham - The Facts.
(4) Luis
Palau by Biblical Discernment Ministries, 1998
Like some other well known evangelists, pastors and teachers, Luis
Palau has been slipping further and further into ecumenicalism -- unity
for unity's sake. How could this happen to a man whom God has used
to preach the gospel to millions of people? This article details
that slide and is a vivid reminder that just because a Christian with the
gift of evangelism is famous does not mean Christians should stand for
unsound doctrine that is preached or practiced by that person. It
takes more to preach the gospel than to simply declare a formula on how
to be saved. It looks to us as though Palau is watering down the
gospel message; making overtures to a number of apostate churches, sending
people back to them after they allegedly make a decision to follow Christ;
and joining organizations with doctrinal stands that are against Scripture.
Luis Palau is perhaps one of the greatest communicators of our age.
Although this article tends to nitpick at some issues that are secondary,
in our opinion, it does highlight the fact that Christians need to be very
discerning about advising non-believers to go to a crusade where new believers
are sent back to apostate churches such as the Roman Catholic Church or
Third Wave churches that have been spawned from such movements as the Toronto
"Blessing" or Brownsville A/G to be discipled with unbiblical doctrines
and practices.
(5) Schuller Meets With
Cho And Pope by The Calvary Contender, 1998
Things are really gearing up for the Jubilee 2000 celebration around
the world. All the "biggies" will apparently be there to "ride the
beast".
(6) Ecumenism - Where
Do You Draw The Line? by Sandy Simpson, 1998
"This is a short essay to illustrate just how unbiblical, subjective
and relativistic Ecumenism really is. Ecumenism starts innocently
enough. Is begins with a tolerant perspective of other denominations.
Then it moves on to cults. Finally it ends in an acceptance of other
religions, evolving into what is called "Inter-Faith".
(7) Let
No One Deceive You With Ecumenical Evangelism by Mike Gendron,
1998
"As we approach the new millennium, we are witnessing the greatest
push toward ecumenical unity the world has ever seen. Under the banner
of AD 2000 all professing Christians are urged to join hands to fulfill
the Great Commission before the year 2000. This pronounced urgency for
ecumenical evangelism is an attempt to provide Jesus a wonderful 2000th
birthday present when He returns. The movement has easily captured
the fancy of many Christians. However, the proposal for all Christians
to forget their differences and unite for the purpose of evangelizing the
world, completely ignores the fact that Roman Catholic, Orthodox and many
Protestant churches preach a false gospel that denies the sufficiency of
Jesus Christ and His finished work of redemption. A key to the success
of this effort to unite has been a commitment to "tolerate one another's
beliefs and just love Jesus." Overlooked in their zeal is the fact that
if they all loved the same "Jesus" they would not tolerate a compromised
gospel."
(8) Promise
Keepers
We can no longer support Promise Keepers because of many problems with
doctrines that are taught, the background, teachings and guiding force
behind the movement (Vineyard, Latter Rain, Joel's Army), their compromised
doctrinal statement, and especially their ecumenical goals. Here
is an article that
has many quotes from leaders of this organization providing ample proof
that they are ecumenical and aberrant, if not heretical in doctrine.
This long article
details a lot of what has been taught by Promise Keepers.
(9) Promise
Keepers Changes Doctrinal Statement To Appease Catholics by David
W. Cloud, 1997
"When Promise Keepers first published its brief statement of faith,
it did not include the phrase "by faith alone." It was added because of
the outcry of those who protested that the absence of this phrase leaves
room for false gospels which mix grace and works, faith and sacraments.
You see, false gospelers do not deny that salvation is by faith and by
grace. What they deny is that it is by grace ALONE through faith ALONE
without works and sacraments of any sort. Now we see that Promise Keepers
has again modified its statement to remove "by faith alone" to please the
Catholic leaders with whom they are fellowshipping. Promise Keepers vice
president, Paul Edwards, tells us that PK's doctrinal statement is "dynamic"
and "open to change." This is typical of those with an ecumenical agenda.
They claim that sound doctrine is precious to them, but in practice they
are incredibly flexible and nonchalant about the most foundational of doctrines."
(10) Promise Keepers
Woos Catholics by Jim Kirksey, Denver Post Staff Writer, 1998
"Bill McCartney and his Promise Keepers were embraced by the Denver
Catholic Archdiocese ... at a gathering of more than 250 men, and a handful
of women, at the John Paul II Center in south Denver. "
(11) Who Is God by Luis Palau, 1997
Here is a "Luis Palau Responds" article that seems odd to us.
See if you agree with this sentence taken from the article: "The bottom
line is you can be any religion you want to be, as long as what you believe
about God corresponds to reality." Is this really true?
How can a person find Jesus Christ as a Buddhist, as Palau indicates?
How can a person find salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone
in the Roman Catholic church? How can a person be of ANY religion
other than true Christianity, even Judaism, and not acknowledge that Jesus
Christ is the Messiah? How does Luis Palau think God views worshipping
Him while continuing to worship other gods? No other "religions"
own God at all. No religion does. But only Judaism and Christianity
worship YHWH. Other religions worship demons. God has revealed
Himself to this age through His Only Son, Jesus Christ who is made evident
through the body of Christ, the Christian church. You cannot exclude
the body of Christ or the Scriptures from the process of coming to the
full knowledge of God. It is impossible. These statements by
Luis Palau indicate just how far he has slid into ecumencalism and interfaith
compromise. (Original location of this file was at: http://www2.gospelcom.net/lpea/archive/lpr/09-11-97.shtml
but it has since been taken off the web.)
(12) Pacific Revival Center - Wolves Among The
Flock by Deception In The Church, 1998
"There is a church that is trying desperately to ingratiate itself
with the rest of the body of Christ on Guam. This article is a warning
that they are hiding behind the fact that they "went out from us" long
ago (1 Jn. 2:19). The church is affiliated with the UPCI (United
Pentecostal Church International). It has recently changed its name
to Pacific Revival Center. They have managed to get their church
prominently displayed in the Pacific Daily News in the Lifestyle section,
have advertised "miracle" and "revival" meetings at which unseemly pleas
for money were made, and have started a semi-regular "Worship & Praise"
event that they are inviting all churches on Guam to participate in."
(13) The Dangers Of The Alpha Course
by Deception In The Church, 1998
"The Alpha Course, though teaching some truth, also lays truth alongside
error. The wooing of people using the gospel message, only to later
enslave them in ritualism, works salvation, and occult manifestations is
one of the great deceptions of our time. One of the cleverest ploys
of the enemy in our day is to allow "unprincipled" men to use the salvation
message as an enticement to unsuspecting and untrained people, while they
secretly introduce false doctrine, thereby giving "the devil a foothold"
for fleshly manifestations and temptations in their lives. The men
who designed this course are laying error alongside truth, introducing
error secretly ("pareisaxousinin" in Greek) the result of which will ruin
the faith of the believer in the end. The Bible says of this process:
"But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will
be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies,
even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them--bringing swift destruction
on themselves." (2 Pet. 2:1) Beware of the Alpha Course!"

John Paul II Receives The Mark of "Aarti", A Prayer To The Hindu Goddess
Durga
This is a photo of the pope receiving the mark of a prayer "aarti"
to the Hindu female goddess Durga by a professing Christian Hindu woman.
By the time this photo was taken, however, the pope had already been involved
in a number of pagan rituals on his trip to India in 1986, including taking
the mark of Shiva. Here is the documented quote:
"Still at Madras
on February 5, 1986, 'A sugarcane, fashioned into the form of a cross,
signifying a Hindu offering to a carnal god, was brought into the presence
of the Pope. A little later, during the offertory procession, a coconut
was carried to the altar, a typical Hindu offering, which they offer to
their idols. Finally, a man placed sacred ashes on his forehead. IT WAS
NOT A MATTER OF TILAC BUT OF SACRED ASHES OR VIBHUTI. (*164) THREE DAYS
EARLIER, ON FEBRUARY 2, HE HAD RECEIVED ON HIS FOREHEAD THE TILAC OR TIKA,
THE RED POWDERY PASTE OF THE HINDUS, THE SIGN OF THE ADORERS OF SHIVA.
(*165) *164 ‘Msgr.’ Lefebvre, op. cit. p.177. *165 La Croix of February
6, and 'I' Express' of February 7/13, 1986, with photo." The
Catholic objections to this photo, and their deceptive tactics to try to
hide what the pope did on the web, have unearthed even further evidence
of the interfaith dabbling with demons by the papacy.
(18) Some Scandalous
Photographs of John Paul II
More photos of compromising situations where the Pope is seen in a
display of interfaith "unity" with those outside of what would be considered
"Christian" circles. But, as you can clearly see, we are not talking
about a Christian organization when we talk about the Vatican. We
are talking about an apostate cultic version of "Christianity" that is
trying desperately to position itself to ride the coming U.N. global government.
(19) Preach That
Gospel, John Paul II!
Here's a lesson on how to win friends and influence people. Don't
preach that Jesus Christ is the only Way, Truth and Life but entice people
with the concept of a female deity! I'm sure this went over well
with the Hindus in attendance from Bombay. What better way to use
every opportunity we have to witness for Christ! This article was
taken directly from the official Vatican site at vatican.va and is an official
documentation of a "General Audience" with the Pope.

and taking the world for Christ. And wouldn't you know it that shortly
afterwards, the leader of Promise Keepers, Bill McCartney, who is a Latter
Rainist from the Vineyard church in Boulder, Colorado, started filling
stadiums with Christian men from all denominations."
(24) The
Alpha Course - Final Answer Or Fatal Attraction? by G. Richard
Fisher, 1999
"When the April 27, 1998, edition of Christianity Today magazine
ran a full-page advertisement promoting a new line of resources by the
respected Christian publisher, David C. Cook Communications, how could
one doubt the trustworthiness of such materials? If along with that, they
were endorsed in that same promotion by J.I. Packer, Alister McGrath, Luis
Palau and Leighton Ford, how could one hesitate even for a moment — how
could one resist? Surely this is a bandwagon worthy of a ride. The Alpha
program sounds like a great idea. After all, with such heavyweights backing
it and a program to facilitate an introduction to the Christian faith (with
weekend retreats and group discussions) it has to be good — or does it?
If nothing else, one must admit that Alpha is packaged impressively for
maximum sales. Popularity does not mean that something is true. If it did,
Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny would be real entities. Popularity does
not automatically equal truth nor can it create truth."

(27) The
"Evangelical Celebration" Document by Rev. Jerry Moser, 1999
"It must be questioned by serious Bible believers whether drafting
yet another document is the biblical way to address compromise in presenting
the Gospel--since following the biblical method is as essential as the
Gospel itself. The Apostle Paul’s method in defending the Gospel is like
that of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. It is to lay a charge against those
who teach false doctrine, and in so doing to glorify the Father. After
the Apostle pronounces the judgment of God on those who continued in a
false gospel, he explained his guideline for doing so, "For do I now persuade
men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should
not be the servant of Christ." (Galatians 1:10) Four of the endorsers
of ECT II were involved in the actual drafting of this present document.
They are J. I. Packer, Timothy George, Thomas Oden, and John Woodbridge.
Leading Evangelicals together with these four men have drafted and published
EC. It is of the utmost importance to ask if these four signatories to
ECT II--men who now have been included as drafters of EC--have repented
both privately and publicly of what they had previously signed? If so,
to whom was the statement made and where may their public repentance statement
be found? Have they formally responded to the resolution passed at the
1999 Ex-Catholics for Christ (ECFC) conference which called for them to
"publicly renounce the ECT accords and ask the church at large for forgiveness
for their past participation in these accords?"

"The cell group model out of Singapore is Alpha Course Lite!
It is simply another front for the Third Wave, another way to seduce churches,

of the first century ... and to subtly introduce heresy. Remember
the M.O. of false teachers: 2 Pet. 2:1 But there were also false
prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you.
They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign
Lord who bought them--bringing swift destruction on themselves."
(33) Alpha
- The Last Word In Evangelism? by Chris Hand, 1998
"Many people claim to have been helped through going on the Alpha
course and believe it has brought them an understanding of God and how
to respond to Him. Testimonies and accounts of wonderful things that
have happened to individuals abound. In the light of all this, surely
there cannot be anything wrong with it? With so many in today's society
gripped by materialism and atheism, can Alpha be anything other than a
good thing? As young people become hopelessly enmeshed in a godless
culture, should we not applaud the efforts of Alpha and help make it a
success? We wished that the answers to these questions could be an emphatic
'Yes'. But closer examination of Alpha prevents such a clean bill of health
being given to it. Why this concern? There are six vital reasons
we would like to bring to your attention."

Built Upon The Sand - A Biblical Examination Of The Lighthouse Movement
by Delusion & Apostasy Watch News, 9/25/99
There are a few interesting facts in this series of articles.
First, there is a list of the current participating church denominations
and parachurch organizations who have already covenanted with Lighthouse.
Second, we find out that Lighthouse is attempting to sign up and collect
personal information into a very large computer database on all its members
and churches. Third, we can see looming behind this veiled attempt
at evangelism an agenda leading many into the apostate Third Wave and ultimately
to the "woman who rides the beast". The people behind this organization,
such as C. Peter Wagner and Edwardo Silvoso are, on the one hand, at the
forefront of promoting and organizing the "New Apostolic Reformation" where
they are attempting to build a new foundation for the "church", and on
the other attempting to implement this Lighthouse scheme that is supposed
to benefit the cause of Christ. After reading this information it
becomes clear what true believers and the true Body of Christ ought to
do ... (1) stay out of this organization (2) do not submit your information
to this database (3) remain in your local church in the area the
Lord has called you to (4) continue to do the work of preaching the gospel
and taking care of the less fortunate without the assistance and materials
of programs like these (5) and avoid any association with these people
or any events they promote.
(36) The
World Christian Movement - Evangelism Vs. Evangelization by Albert
James Dager, Media Spotlight, Volume 22 - Number 1 (Summer 1999)
"The Lord's prophecy concerning the greatest end-time deception
should warn us that things are not always as they seem. For a deception
to be so seductive that even the very elect would take pause to wonder
if it is of God, it would have to have all the earmarks of a true work
of God. That means it would come in the name of Jesus, it would have a
great deal of solid biblical truth, it would affirm the Gospel, and it
would be a "good work." And signs and wonders would accompany it. Those
who might recognize and expose the deception would be looked upon as divisive,
hateful and deceived themselves. For the most part, the churches would
go along with the deception." Read

(39) Observations
On The Alpha Course by Alan Morrison, Jonathan Bayes and William
Horsburgh, 1999
"These days it would appear that if you are bold enough to admit
that you do not use the Alpha Course, you are likely to find that people
look at you with gaping-mouthed disbelief, as if to ask, "And which planet
do you live on?" The present popularity of the Alpha Course means that
we need to evaluate whether we might be able to use it, and if we conclude
that we ought not, then we need to be able to explain why we do not use
it. Such evaluations and explanations have to be theologically based. It
is not helpful to others to reject something of which we know nothing simply
because of the stable from which it has
emerged. If we do reject it, we need to explain our reasons for
doing so soundly but graciously."

"On Sunday, March 12, the first Sunday of Lent, the Pope presided
over a solemn ceremony called “The Day of Pardon” in St. Peter’s Basilica,
Rome, in which he asked God for forgiveness for the historical wrongs of
the Roman Catholic Church (RCC). The ceremony was presented as another
profoundly significant event in the RC Church’s “Millennium Jubilee Holy
Year” and a further step, unprecedented but necessary, in the process of
unity. It was a modern media event staged for maximum impact to encourage
“unity”. The impression given is that it is a genuine attempt to wipe the
slate clean and to apologize for the past wrongs of the Church. Careful
examination, however, shows that the Pope’s “Day of Pardon” was in fact
not an apology, but rather a day of deception."

various Pentecostal and Charismatic
denominations in Australia with Brian Houston,
General Superintendent of the Australian AOG, installed as the

ACC has been hailed in both secular and Christian press as an enormous
success in bringing together a number of independent Christian bodies for
the purpose of "making a real difference in the community" and "offering
a dynamic spiritual dimension missing from many people's lives." But is
the ACC alliance really anything more than just a numbers and money game

Another
Interfaith Papal Prayer Meeting At Assisi by Zenit.Org, 1/23/02
DITC Comments: The pope organized yet another interfaith prayer
meeting for world peace. As with the last Assisi prayer event, almost
every religion showed up as well as many Protestants. But to pray
for world peace to pagan gods is ludicrous. Oh, it's nice to get
together with other people for potluck, but to pray? Who are they
praying to? Does it even matter anymore who God is to these people?
Perhaps he has simply become a fig newton of the imagination of man?
So many religions, cults and sects of Christianity were present.
Catholics, charismatic Catholics, Orthodox, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Shintoists,
Confusionists, Zoroastrianists and others all got together with the Anglican
Communion; World Lutheran Federation; Alliance of Reformed Churches; Pentecostals;
World Baptist Alliance; Friends World Committee for Consultation (Quakers);
Salvation Army; and the World Council of Churches. The only world
peace these people are going to accomplish is the short lived peace of
the antichrist!

The
Exclusiveness Of Christ - Understanding the Present War by
David Wilkerson, October 29, 2001
"Satan's ecumenical union of churches will bring about a great persecution.
And the union itself will be the chief persecuting force. Even now,
the Russian Orthodox Church is pressuring Russia's government to shut down
all evangelical churches in that country. They want to drive out evangelical
Christianity completely from their midst. Here in America we see the beginnings
of the same kind of pressure. I was handed a videotape of a network TV
interview with a well-known evangelist. The interviewer asked the minister
point blank: "Will Muslims be saved? And will Jews be saved if they don't
believe in Jesus?" Clearly, the evangelist was being pressed into a corner.
He knew if he answered with Peter's statement, "There is no other name
whereby men can be saved except Jesus Christ, the Son of God," he would
have been despised. The press would have crucified him. Instead, the evangelist

of Jesus in them. Yes, they'll both be saved." I couldn't believe what
I heard this committed Christian leader saying."

Evangelicals
And Pagans Together by Bill Randles, Dicernment Newsletter, September/October
2002
The world loves this kind of spirituality but God hates it. Jehoshaphat,
a genuinely godly king of Judah, attempted a "good" thing -- all in the
name of unity, of course. This "good" thing was joining forces with the
apostate King Ahab in a war against the Syrians. After barely escaping
with his life, and that by the mercy of God, Jehoshaphat was confronted
by Jehu the prophet with a message that perhaps applies to our leaders
in this day: "Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate
the Lord?" (2 Chron. 19:2)

I simply believe that those who were genuinely saved under the Billy
Graham ministry have now a responsibility
to the world of a judgment that heretofore they may have thought
they did not have to make. I had rather for them defend Graham's message
instead of myself. But the Billy Graham evangelistic theological ball is
now in their own court. I wonder what they will do with it. The world has
given too much aura to one man.

(88) In Bed With
TBN by Jackie Alnor, Christian Sentinel Report, May 2003
The Christian Sentinel and many others have written to respectable
church leaders who are regular guests on TBN or have their own programs
on that network. We have asked them their reasoning for it. Half of our
letters over the past couple of decades remain unanswered, but those who
did respond -- to a man -- agree that TBN is full of spiritual poison.
They defend their position as trying to be light in the darkness. But our
argument is that they can’t do that without compromise. One word spoken
against the Word/Faith heresies and they will be cut off.
(89) The
Papacy And Islam by Richard Bennett and Robert J. Nicholson, 2003
The Pope's profession of a ‘civilization of love’ in his rapprochement
with Islam represents only another tactical re-appraisal of circumstances
and opportunities for Rome. It is merely the old idol of humanistic
sentiment religiously recycled and held out to the world as the cohesive
force that will unite all sincere religious people in a concordat of international
condemnation against the kind of anti-social fanaticism that led to the
September 11th horror. The profound danger for Evangelical people
is that they,
unthinking, might come to embrace Rome’s claim to be the true spokesman
for Christ on this earth, a lie which is deeply embedded in this new thrust
for inter-faith ecumenicity.
(90) Ecumenism
Fostered By Mysticism by Ed Tarkowski, STAND & COMFORT Newsletter
#47 (Vol 3 No 14)
The trend toward mystical exercises and experiences continues to
rise, spurred on by interdenominational fellowship within Christianity
and fellowship and prayer with non-Christian religions brought about through
public tragedies. The meditations and contemplations are basically the
same in purpose, though the names they are given vary depending on one's
religious affiliation (Christian, Hindu, Buddhism, etc). Is there danger
in these like spiritual experiences being practiced across the board?

are simply ruled out of order.

(119) Heartlines
Review by Salvador Ung Hayworth, 6/06
A new project has been undertaken in South Africa. It is an initiative,
which will use television, radio and print media to tell stories in order
to get the nation of South Africa talking and thinking about values. The
campaign is called ‘Heartlines’ and starts on 16 th July 2006. It will
run for eight weeks and each week will show a film that highlights one
of the eight values that it seeks to deal with. The eight values are ‘second
chances, responsibility, forgiveness, perseverance, self-control, accepting
difference, compassion and honesty’. This project is seeking to promote
a conversation, based on these values, in order to bring out a transformation
in South African society. Hence Heartlines is a ‘Values-Driven Transformation’.
So what has this got to do with the Christian Church? Well as a matter
of fact there are people who are stating that this is a Christian movement
to ‘further the kingdom of God’.
(120) Update On The Heartlines Project
-
4th June 2008 by Salvador Ung Hayworth, 6/08
In July 2006, the first phase of the campaign was launched. This
included two main initiatives: a national broadcast of eight HEARTLINES
films or dramas, with supporting print and below-the-line media components
and the start of social mobilisation of faith-based organisations, during
which FBOs were given relevant tools to teach values and were encouraged
to undertake discussion-based activities.” Since doing the review of the
Heartlines website and of the Values Booklet I thought that though not
many people would give heed to the warning concerning the project, that
at least it would die down and become another fad. What I did not know
is that that stint was just phase one in Heartlines agenda.

Evangelical Pulpits About To Praise Islam? by Jan Markell, 8/4/08

“Common Word” exchange drafted last November. A joint statement was
affirmed in their support of religious freedom and further interfaith dialogue
based on their common love for God and neighbor. But something is very
wrong with this picture. Over 140 conference participants unanimously approved
a cooperative statement that signaled a “new beginning of collaboration
between Christians and Muslims” where stronger assertions of faith would
be required. So the statement began by affirming the “unity and absoluteness
of God” and God’s merciful love as central to both religions.

(126) The
Manhattan Declaration a response by Alistair Begg, 11/23/09
In accord with others who have chosen not to sign, my reservation
is not with the issues themselves, or in standing with others who share
the same concerns, but it is in signing a declaration along with a group
of leading churchmen, when I happen to believe that the teaching of some
of their churches is in effect a denial of the biblical gospel. I wonder
whether it might not have been more advantageous for evangelicals to unite
on this matter, rather than seeking cooperation with segments from Rome,
Eastern Orthodoxy and the Latter Day Saints. The necessary co-belligerence,
as far as I’m concerned, can never be rooted in a Gospel other than that
which has been given to us.

We again emphasize that we are not opposed to Roman Catholic, Eastern

(128) Unity,
Diversity and Division that Glorifies God by Claude T. Stauffer,
Calvary Chapel of Hope, 12/3/09
There is a unity that glorifies God. There is a diversity that glorifies
God. There is a division that glorifies God. God is clear on what unity,
diversity and division is acceptable to Him and brings glory to Him. The
Bible reveals that in the Last Days there will be a one world religion.
This religion of unity is referred to as Mystery Babylon and has its roots
at the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11). This false religious system will ultimately
be brought down by God (cf. Revelation 17). The unity of Mystery Babylon
is not glorifying to God but opposes God with all deception and rebellion
against Him and His word. This false unity is on the rise today. That is
a unity true Christians do not want to be a part of. Having a Biblical
God ordained understanding of how unity, diversity and division relate
to one another is critical to glorifying God by both what we participate
in and what we separate from.

Whenever you see a broad ecumenical coalition gathering together

statement, covenant, declaration, manifesto, etc. may sound all well and

agendas. And this is precisely how people are hooked in to signing on.

(i.e., contemplative/emerging), it is not difficult to see that (even with
good intentions) the Manhattan Declaration may provide an appealing and
subtle avenue into the New Spirituality for a vast number of signers,
many of whom might not otherwise have had exposure to it given the conservative
tendencies of most of the signers.
(132) Evangelicals
and Catholics Together and the Rejection of End-Time, Bible-Believing Christians
by Roger Oakland, 12/7/09
If you haven’t already noticed, anti-Christian sentiment is growing
toward those who believe in a biblical last days/Book of Revelation scenario
prior to Christ’s return. A 2005 article titled “Lutheran leader calls
for an ecumenical council to address growing biblical fundamentalism” should
help convince you. The article shows not only this growing resentment towards
Bible-believing Christians but also the interspiritual path this change
in attitude is taking.
(133) Manhattan

(135) The
Manhattan Declaration by Gary Gilley, Think On These Things, February/March
2010 - Volume 16, Issue 1
Instead of drawing moral/political lines in the sand, courageously
and even defiantly declaring that we will retreat no further, maybe this
would be an excellent opportunity to evaluate whether we have already retreated
concerning the gospel. That ground may have been given because of
ecumenical expediency, pluralistic pressures, biblical illiteracy or faith
in statements such as The Manhattan Declaration which minimize the uniqueness
and narrowness of the gospel message in an attempt to change society.
Rather than giving ground maybe this would be a good time to take a fresh
look at the gospel. Maybe we should define it more carefully, guard
it more tenaciously, proclaim it more boldly, and believe in its power
more profoundly. For, after all, Paul tells us it is the power of
God unto salvation. And, after all, it is what Christ has commissioned
us to do.

(140) Edinburgh
2010 by Gary Gilley, Think On These Things, April/May 2010 - Volume
16, Issue 2
Recently all branches of Christendom have placed on par the so-called
Cultural Mandate with the Great Commission. The Cultural Mandate
carries the implication that as caretakers of the earth, mankind, including
Christians, has been authorized by God to solve the socio-political problems
facing the world. With this presupposition the evangelical church
is increasingly seeing the gospel as two-pronged – proclaim the good news
of redemption in Christ and the good news that working together we can
solve the injustices prevalent all over the globe. Without denial
of our role as stewards of God’s creation, the Cultural Mandate (once referred
to as the Social Gospel) confuses the mission given to us by Christ and
dilutes the resources to do what only the church has been called to do
– tell people how they can be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ.
(141) Uniting
Religions for World Change: The G8 World Religions Summit by Carl
Teichrib, Chief Editor of Forcing Change, 7/12/10
Points to Ponder About Christian Interfaith Involvement: 1)
The interfaith approach is rationally directionless. If all religions are
equally valid or hold some common level of spiritual authenticity, as the
interfaith movement asserts, then all religions are ultimately baseless.
Therefore, the nonbeliever can logically reject Christianity as a meaningless
sect among many meaningless faiths. For by acknowledging another religion
as a vehicle that proclaims the revelation of God, even tentatively, the
exclusive nature of God as revealed in the Bible (Isaiah 45:18-22; John
14:6-7) can no longer be viewed as exclusively true. The door has now been
opened to consider any other spiritual claim as legitimate; and to not
accept these other claims would demonstrate an intolerant exclusivity.
Either Jesus Christ is who He claimed to be, the great I AM – the only
true God – or He’s only one way among many and His claim is false. It’s
an all or nothing position (see Joshua 24:14-24). 2) The interfaith position
muddies the Christian mission of bringing the good news of Jesus Christ
as God incarnate come to redeem sinful humanity. Inter-religious bridge
building bolsters the idea (continued on page 17)

For example, Pastor Rick Warren has publicly stated that he has no problem
in working together with Muslims, as long as there is a common goal to
work together for the cause of good. We are living in perilous times!
(144) Evangelical Leaders Embrace Syncretism

Brannon begins by telling people that one of his greatest concerns
is the rise of false teachings in America. He points out that as Christians
we are called to expose such teachings and to destroy every argument raised
up against the principles of Christ. With that in mind, Brannon described
six characteristics of a false teacher:
--They will look and sound like Christians.
--They will produce fruit and doctrine that is anti-Christ.
--They love titles.
--They deny the deity of Jesus Christ.
--They have a form of godliness yet deny God, the gospel, and salvation
through Christ alone.
--They proclaim a false Jesus and a false gospel.
Brannon shows how these characteristics are causing some evangelical
leaders to be open to a syncretism/pluralism that has them attempting to
seek common spiritual ground with those of Mormon, Islamic, and other unbiblical
faith systems.
Ingrid Schlueter draws an important conclusion by saying that although
doctrinal distinctions won’t go away completely, there’s an obvious worldwide
effort afoot to build a common “spiritual well” that everyone can draw
from.
(145) “Half-Baked”
Christianity - A Meditation Upon Hosea 7:8 by Pastor Larry DeBruyn,
10/19/10
In a previous generation, a churchman observed of the church's relationship
to the surrounding culture of that era and said: "I looked for the church
and found it in the world. I looked for the world and found it in the church."
In the history of American Christianity there perhaps has never been a
time when the criticism uttered by that Englishman against the church of
his day is not also an apt indictment of Christianity in our culture today.

Hosts Global Faith Forum For World's Religions by Paul Proctor,
News With Views, November 17, 2010
The Christian Post reported recently that NorthWood Church in Keller,
Texas, scheduled a Global Faith Forum for Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindus,
Buddhists and atheists in hopes they would “listen to one another and even
build friendships.” The report stated, “the forum isn't a gathering of
theologians to debate religions,” but instead, an “opportunity for people
of multiple faiths to get to know one another, start conversations, and
learn from each other.”

Lama Sends His Monks To Methodist Emory University For Training In Science
by Associated Press, 1/3/2011
ATLANTA - Some of the newest students at Emory University in Atlanta
-- home to a Methodist seminary and school of theology -- are Tibetan monks
sent by the Dalai Lama to learn science. Wearing the traditional crimson
robes and closely shorn heads, the six men -- most in their 30s -- are
taking physics, biology, and chemistry classes with hopes of returning
to Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in India to teach science to other monks
and nuns.

(150) Rick
Warren and Saddleback Unveil Tony Blair Peace Program by Ingrid
Schluter, Crosstalk Blog, 3/3/11
Rick Warren believes the world can have peace without the Prince
of Peace. He is awarding Tony Blair, a pro-abortion, Roman Catholic convert
with a peace prize in a few days at Saddleback Church. Click here for Warren’s
details. As we see Dr. John Piper’s open embrace of Warren at his Desiring
God conferences, one of which will be held at Warren’s church in April,
we are reminded of the emergence of a new spirituality that is without
the cross of Jesus Christ (just ask Tony Blair about his plan to unite
world religions), of “peace” without the author of peace, Jesus Christ,
and of an apostate evangelicalism that has now linked arms with the United
Nations to push Agenda 21 goals.
(151) National
Association of Evangelicals seeks common ground with Mormonism
by Ken Silva, 3/11/11
Notice carefully that God the Holy Spirit doesn’t say anything about
the Apostle Paul looking for common ground on issues where they could work
together. Instead, God tells the Christian that we shouldn’t be aligned
with unbelieving pagan idolators, which is precisely what the Bible teaches
they are:
(152) Unveiling
the Global Interfaith Agenda by Carl Teichrib, Chief Editor, Crossroad,
3/15/11
Religious pluralism isn’t a new concept, but it has made tremendous
inroads during the past ten years. This development hasn’t been confined
to churches only, but now tracks through international politics, economics,
and major social structures. In past issues of Forcing Change various aspects
of this movement have been expounded on, including environmental links.
However, the following article, which is divided into two parts, offers
a unique window into the growing clout of the interfaith agenda and its
deeper meaning. Increasingly, this socio-religious pluralism will find
its way into more local programs and actions, including community functions,
civic politics, and economic “justice” agendas. All of this will impact
churches, from local congregations to national boards, and will become
increasingly visible in secular fields such as public education and the
workplace. Already this is happening. As mentioned, this article is comprised
of two parts: the front section, “An Inside Look,” details my observations
while attending a 2001 interfaith event in St. Petersburg, Florida. A special
emphasis is placed on what to watch for regarding the impact of the inter-religious
agenda at the more local and discernable level. The second part of this
article is a review of the 2004 Barcelona Parliament of the World’s Religions.
While I didn’t attend this event, the information and intelligence that
came out of this gathering gives us an interesting “big picture” sweep
of the global interfaith program, including its linkages to issues of economic
governance.
(153) Muslim
Worship in Christian Churches by Crosstalk, 4/12/11
Dr. Alex McFarland is a renowned expert in Christian apologetics
(one who explains and rationally defends faith). He is the author of many
books including the devotional book series for teens: Stand: Seeking the
Way of God; Stand: Unleashing the Wisdom of God and Stand: Diving Into
God’s Words. Dr. McFarland served as the president of Southern Evangelical
Seminary in North Carolina, and has spent over two decades training teens
and adults in biblical worldview reasoning, much of that time working with
Focus on the Family. Last September, Heartsong Church in Cordova, Tennessee,
let members from the Memphis Islamic Center hold Ramadan prayers. Aldersgate
United Methodist Church in Alexandria, Virginia, allows the Islamic Circle
of North America to hold regular Friday prayers at their facility while
a new mosque is being built. While respect and tolerance are certainly
biblical virtues, are the two churches mentioned above examples that cross
a line leading into unbiblical affirmation and endorsement? Can we share
a platform with those of other beliefs as long as we aren’t doing it in
the sense that we believe that all beliefs are valid? From discussion of
youth groups and sanctuaries to reverence for worship, our slipping standards
in these areas all point to why many in Christianity are tolerating heretical
speakers and philosophies in their churches today.

as 'something hostile to Jesus Christ himself' by Michael Carl,
WND, 6/24/11
Dozens of Christian churches, from Park Hill Congregational in Denver
to Hillview United Methodist in Boise, Idaho, and First United Lutheran
in San Francisco to St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church in Honolulu, are planning

(159) Green
Bay Catholic Priest David Ricken leads Mass at Lifefest Before Joint Worship
with Greg Laurie by Lighthouse Trails, 7/12/11
LTRP Note: Today, a pastor sent Lighthouse Trails the link to the
following news article. In view of our article on 7/11/11, “The
Jesuit Agenda and the Evangelical/Protestant Church,” we post this
news item. Bishop David Ricken who led Mass at Lifefest is on the Bishops
Advisory Council at Creighton University, a Jesuit school. OSHKOSH — Bishop
David Ricken always wanted to go to Lifest. But since taking over as head
of the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay in 2008, something else always came
up. [Bishop] Ricken led 9 a.m. Mass from the Thrivent Café Stage
on the final day of the 13th annual Lifest celebration at Sunnyview Expo
Center. Hundreds worshipped as intermittent showers trickled down on the
large tent. Protestant devotions, a children’s service and the Catholic
Mass each were held separately before joint worship at 11 a.m. on the grandstand
featuring Lenz; Greg Laurie, senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship
in Riverside, Calif., and head of the international Harvest Crusades.
(160) Bishop
Ricken, Marian Apparitions and the Connection with Greg Laurie
by Understanding The Times, 7/15/11
Since Greg Laurie shared the platform in Oskosh, Wisconsin at the
Lifest Celebration with Roman Catholic Bishop Ricken, another news item
now places Laurie and Ricken in the headlines. This time it is the fascination
with Marian apparitions that Ricken supports and has been promoting. It
is well known that Jesuits are behind the devotion to “Our Lady of Peace”
also called the "Queen of Heaven." This will be an important part of developing
a One World Religion for Peace that will usher in the Antichrist. The questions
that need to be asked are these: Why would Greg Laurie endorse Roman Catholic
Jesuit Bishop Ricker by sharing the platform with him at the Lifest gathering?
Is Laurie aware of the damage he has done to Calvary Chapel by doing this
or is this just part of the game plan? While this is only speculation,
one could also ask, why does Laurie link hands with Rick Warren who has
linked hands with the Pope of Rome through Tony Blair for the P.E.A.C.E.
Plan? Would someone (for example) Chuck Smith or Brian Brodersen please
stand up and explain what is happening to the Calvary Chapel movement?

Progress: The Building of the New World Religion by Heidi Swander,
July 18, 2011
"The New Age is upon us and we are witnessing the birth pangs of
the new culture and the new civilization. This is now in progress. That
which is old and undesirable must go . . . The spirit has gone out of the
old faiths and the true spiritual light is transferring itself into a new
form which will manifest on Earth eventually as the New World Religion."
So said occultist Alice Bailey (1880-1949) while under the influence of
her spirit guide, Djwal Khul. As I wrote in an article last March, Bailey
and her demonic counterpart actually laid the foundation for the New World
Order. The New World Religion piece of that coming global order is advancing
successfully on at least three fronts:

(163) Is the God
of Chrstianity and the God of Islam the same? by Matt Slick, CARM,
8/3/11
No, the God of Christianity and the God of Islam are not the same.
First of all, the God of Christianity is a Trinity where the God of Islam
is not. The Trinity is the monotheistic teaching that God exists eternally
as three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. In
Islam, this is blatantly denied.

(169) Countering
the Counter Reformation in the Midst of Evangelical Christianity
by Roger Oakland, 1/10/12
In June of 2005, Paul Smith recommended that Another Jesus: The
Eucharistic Christ and the New Evangelization be given out to the Calvary
pastors at the annual senior pastors conference at Murrieta. As UTT did
with New Wine and the Babylonian Vine, the books were donated through Calvary
Distribution and handed out. In the back of the book is a commentary called
“Passion Evangelism” that exposes Mel Gibson’s plan to win the world to
the Eucharistic Christ. By many accounts, the conference was deemed to
be a watershed. A panel discussion one afternoon about Calvary basics ended
up in a free-for-all. Greg Laurie led the way with Bob Coy in stand-up
comedy. Things got serious when Greg Laurie chastised pastors for not participating
in Harvest Crusades just because of his desire to be linked with Purpose
Driven globalist pastor, Rick Warren. The only pastor who seemed to be
in favor of studying the Bible instead of someone’s book was Mike Macintosh.

(171) Global
Ecumenism: The High Road to Trampling Truth Underfoot by Chris
Lawson, Spiritual Research Network, 2/13/12
In summary, the heavily coalescing global ecumenical movement is
a counterfeit Christianity. It is rapidly blending with Liberal churches
and an entire generation of pagans and churchgoers that have been born
and steeped in societies rife with “politically correct” thinking and New
Age Christ Consciousness Interfaith teachings. In the name of the ecumenical
Jesus which cannot save from sin and hell, people around the world are
embracing this movement as a movement of love, tolerance and unity. To
many it is a movement where the Divine, the Silence, the Divine Mystery,
mystical Ecstasy, Samadhi, Enlightenment and much more can all be experienced
and where “archaic dogma” such as the Bible is downplayed and cast out.
[33] Even things as extreme as consciousness altering contemplative (occult)
meditation are taking place in churches that at one time used to effectively
teach the Bible. The end result in all of this is a mystical system that
utterly rejects Jesus Christ as the only way to God, or morphs Him into
something He is clearly not. It is a system that is accepting of anyone
and everyone that says that Mary is “Co-Redemptrix,” that “Eucharistic
Adoration” is true worship [34] and that “mystically” all paths can lead
to God!
(172) Sharing
Speaking Platforms: Compromises and Consequences - When Leaders Wrongly
Share Speaking Platforms with Ecumenists and Teachers of False Doctrine
by Chris Lawson, Spiritual Research Network, 2/21/12
Many years ago Pastor Chuck Smith’s long-time associate, Calvary
Chapel Costa Mesa’s Associate Pastor, L.E. Romaine, once told me personally”Don’t
complain about it unless you first try to do something about it.” Pastor
Romaine was exhorting us (pastors) not to complain about anything, unless
we seek first to aright the situation, no matter what it is. Obviously,
the Bible says we are not to grumble and complain, and Romaine knew that
too. Romaine was simply communicating to us that we ought to deal with
issues and not make messes in the church; theological, or otherwise. The
following material is not meant to be a complaint, but an introduction
as to why Calvary Chapel is not standing against Ecumenical compromises.
I am not complaining, I am telling the truth.

(174) Rick
Warren builds bridge to Muslims by Carlos Delgado, OC Register,
2/27/12
The Rev. Rick Warren, pastor of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest
and one of America's most influential Christian leaders, has embarked on
an effort to heal divisions between evangelical Christians and Muslims
by partnering with Southern California mosques and proposing a set of theological
principles that includes acknowledging that Christians and Muslims worship
the same God.
(175) Concerning
Ecumenism? The people speak! - Open Letter To David Sedaca And LCJE,
2/27/12
Ecumenism is not a side issue. It is a matter of utmost importance
that we resist the tide. Below are some of the people who have signed the
petition to call Lausanne Consultation for Jewish Evangelism to renounce
their ecumenism and to guarantee their abstinence from any ecumenical partnerships.
They are all from different churches and ministries but that are all united
in this belief that Ecumenism is a danger to the body of Christ.
(176) Rick
Warren's "Bridge to Islam" - Joseph Farah challenges megapastor over latest
friendship overture by Joseph Farah, 2/29/12
Here is the key to illustrating his error: Do Muslims even claim
to worship the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, as Christians and Jews
do? No, they do not. They believe God did not create a covenant with Isaac
and Jacob, but rather with Abraham’s firstborn son Ishmael. They believe
the Jewish and Christian Bibles are misrepresentations of truth. They believe
the Quran accurately and faithfully represents the true personality and
will of God.
(177) Calvary
Chapel Pastors and CCOF Ministry Reject Warnings About Ecumenical Jerry
Boykin by Chris Lawson, Spiritul Research Network, 3/1/12
Letter to Roger Wing (CCOF Ministry). This material is being
presented here because I have spent hundreds of hours researching, writing,
and in correspondence with many people from Calvary Chapel fellowships
who are tired of the numerous big-name Calvary Chapel pastors who are compromising
Scripture for the sake of ecumenical relations. I have no personal issues
with Jerry Boykin, nor am I on a diatribe against fellow pastors. I am
however extremely concerned about the continued Calvary Chapel slide into
popular Christianity and the ecumenism that many have been grievously observing
for years now. It is clear to many that next to nothing is being done about
it and as a pastor I refuse to be a bystander while the flock of God is
being ravaged from within.
(178) Apprising
Ministries Exclusive On Rick Warren, Jim Hinch and Islam by Ken
Silva, 3/5/12
Apprising Ministries has long been a leading critic of the semi-pelagian
(at best) doctrine of Southern Baptist megachurch pastor Rick Warren. In
articles like Rick Warren And Teachings Of Demons I’ve also clearly documented
his sinful ecumenicism as well. Of course that’s merely one of the fruits
festering within apostatizing evangelicalism because of its foolish fascination
with corrupt Contemplative Spirituality/Mysticism.
(179) Rick
Warren, Islam, and the Real Issue by Eric Barger, 3/7/12
Warren can deny the word "Chrislam" all he wants. He can line up
surrogates to speak for him day and night. But until he recants the Yale
document and clearly defines that Islam's prophet, Isa, isn't Jesus Christ
and that Islam's false god, Allah, isn't Jehovah, lots of us are going
to speak louder and louder. No matter how you slice it, to confuse Islam's
deity with God Almighty is a denial of the one true and living God and
His only Son.

This document shows how Hinch came to his conclusions.

Updated! (185) Rick
Warren once again caught up in controversy by Marsha West, Renew
America, 3/21/12
Rick Warren has been pushing interfaith dialogue for years. So it's
no surprise that he's attempting to build a bridge between Christians and
Muslims. There's nothing wrong with doing that as long as the primary purpose
is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Mark 16:15-16 However, Jim Hinch
stated that he was told by Pastor Tom Holladay "King's Way was an effort
to build bridges of friendship and cooperation, not an attempt to evangelize."
(Online source) Rick Warren once said, "I see absolutely zero reason in
separating my fellowship from anybody." In his ecumenical outreach, Southern
Baptist Pastor Rick Warren has associated with the apostate Roman Catholic
Church, the United Nations, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the Tony
Blair Faith Foundation. These last two organizations have as primary goals
setting up a global government and bringing all religions of the world
together, respectively. Pastor Warren awarded the former Prime Minister

(187) “Chrislam”
- Do Christians and Muslims Worship the Same God? by Pastor Larry
DeBruyn, Gurading His Flock Ministries, 3/31/12
Some Christians naively and mistakenly equate that because Christianity
and Islam are monotheistic faiths (belief in one God), Christians and Muslims
worship the same God, the synthesis of the two religions being labeled,
“Chrislam.”[1] Mega church leader Rick Warren calls the reconciliation
King’s Way.[2] To advocates for the synthesis, any differences between
the two religions are viewed as superficial. Differences can be overcome
by an ecumenical appeal to the “nobler side” of the different religion’s
devotees. After all, only the names for God differ. Muslims call
Him Allah, while Christians address Him as Lord. The singleness of God
is thought of as an ecumenical rallying point, a basis for mutual understanding,
if not some kind of unity, between the religions.

List of Speakers at “Rediscovering God in America” Conference Draws Strong
Concerns by Roger Oakland, 8/11/12
As I pen these words, a conference is taking place this weekend
that is further indication of the spiritual deception and the blurring
of lines happening in the church today. Some call this deception in the
church a conspiracy. In our view, the deception should be called outright
heresy and part of the Great Apostasy (2 Thessalonians 2:3). Will anyone
wake up and smell the smoke? Apparently, no one is willing to say a word.
Where is the discernment? Where are the pastors who should be warning?
(191) The
Evangelical Ecumenical Apostasy of the Present Day (YouTube video)
by Richard Bennett, The Berean Beacon, 4/10/13
At the present time, an appalling Evangelical Ecumenical Apostasy
has happened. What is at stake is the very righteousness of Christ Jesus
the Lord in His perfect, finished work that is proclaimed in the Gospel.
In fact, many well-known Evangelicals in their endeavors to attract people
have concealed the Gospel of grace. The video that you are about to see
gives the names of those who embrace this horrendous apostasy. We ask that
you make this video known to your church. The hour has come for biblical
separation from those who have perverted the very Gospel of the Lord Jesus
Christ. In face of all this abounding deception, how do we live and reign
daily with Christ Jesus? The Apostle Paul gives us the answer, “For if
by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive
abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life
by one, Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:20-21). As you profess your faith in Jesus
Christ alone, if you can, let us hear from you at: richardmbennett@yahoo.com
It is imperative that we do something, so kindly make the video known to
others by forwarding its URL to your church, family, and friends.

bigots who used to do it. And the Spirit spoke to me.”

"Without
a doubt there is no Biblical reason to hold hands with the likes of those
(such as the Roman Catholic Church) who deny the Word of God and the way
of salvation through Christ. This video is closed with Rexella Van Impe
saying, "Unity among believers comes from our union with Christ. Let us
love one another if we love Him."31 Unity of believers is based on doctrine
that is taught in the Word of God; II John 9-11 and many other verses declare
this simple plain thrust of the Scriptures."

The Question Of Dominion
by Sandy Simpson
This DVD is a message based on this article: The
Question Of Dominion.
I am writing this article as an apologetic against
the Third Wave, Latter Rain, Word of Faith and Reformed Theology teachings
that the Church is to rise up and take over the systems of government,
businesses and every other aspect of life. "See, the problem is, is that
Satan has had too much of his way in our society because he has a government!
And the only way to overthrow a government is with a government.
It won’t happen otherwise. So therefore the government of the church
has to get into place in the extended church just like we do have it very
well in place, we haven’t reached our goal yet ..." (Transcript of
C. Peter Wagner, Arise Prophetic Conference, Gateway Church, San Jose,
CA, 10-10-2004) Wagner has substituted the "government of the church" for
the coming government of Jesus Christ in the Millennial Kingdom.
Wagner is "Kingdom Now" while the Bible teaches "Kingdom Come". What I
wanted to do with this article is put the issue of dominion to rest by
studying the definition the Bible gives to dominion and ruling authority.
When we look at the subject we can easily ascertain what is going on today
and what God requires of the Church.

Shepherd Or Hireling?
by Sandy Simpson
This DVD is a message based on the article: "Shepherd
Or Hireling?"
The Bible lays out the definitions of both an overseer
(under shepherd) and a hireling. John 10:11-13 I am the good
shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. But he that
is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth
the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth
them, and scattereth the sheep. The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling,
and careth not for the sheep. (KJV) 1 Tim. 3:1-3 Here
is a trustworthy saying: If anyone sets his heart on being an overseer,
he desires a noble task. Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband
of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able
to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome,
not a lover of money. (NIV) Titus 1:7-13 Since an overseer
is entrusted with God's work, he must be blameless—not overbearing, not
quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest
gain. Rather he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is
self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined. He must hold firmly to
the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage
others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it. For there are
many rebellious people, mere talkers and deceivers, especially those of
the circumcision group. They must be silenced, because they are ruining
whole households by teaching things they ought not to teach—and that for
the sake of dishonest gain. Even one of their own prophets has said, "Cretans
are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons." This testimony is true.
Therefore, rebuke them sharply, so that they will be sound in the faith.
(NIV) A hireling does not really care about being a watchman, but is more
concerned with protecting his reputation, position and income. A
true watchman will guard the flock against wolves from within (Acts 20:30)
and without (Acts 20:29) no matter the cost to his reputation, position
or income. Following is a little quiz you can take to see if you are a
true Biblical under shepherd as a leader in your church, are becoming a
hireling, or are one now.

First of all, the best way you can support this web site is to
be a Berean. Search the Scriptures daily and stand firm in your faith against
the apostasy of the last days. It would give me great joy if more Christians
would learn to discern! Secondly, please continue to uphold this
ministry in prayer. The expository nature of this site has brought down
the wrath of the enemy countless times. Thirdly, there are many
costs involved in running this site as well as providing research and materials
so that you will be armed with the truth. I send out three separate newsletters
and provide other apologetics materials free of charge to Christian leaders
in this area of the world. I am a full time missionary supported by sending
churches in the U.S. For some years I did not ask for support but some
people have sent me support and asked how they can help, so I want to provide
the following information. Please don't neglect other Christian ministries
that uphold the truth as God lays them on your heart. There are many.
