Four Books That the Enemy Has Used To Corrupt Christianity
by Sandy Simpson

This DVD is a message based on this article.

The four books that have changed the church by giving an introduction to the false teachings of the New Apostolic/Latter Rain (NAR), the Emerging Church/Contemplative/Catholic Mysticism (EC), pragmatic Church Growth (CG) methodologies of C. Peter Wagner, Robert Schuller and Peter Drucker, and the teachings of the World Christian Gathering on Indigenous People (WCGIP) are as follows:

Surprised by the Power of the Spirit by Jack Deer, Celebration of Discipline by Richard Foster, Purpose Driven Church by Rick Warren & Etnerity In Their Hearts by Don Richardson.

These four books were widely read by Christians from virtually every denominational background before their ramifications and the movements they would spawn were known.  They lay error alongside truth so were considered not to be a threat to churches.  Therefore these books then became part of the consciousness of many Christians and churches, thereby laying the basis for the introduction of the modern day false teachings of the NAR, EC, CG and WCGIP that have become part of the landscape of Christendom today.

Night Marchers and UFOs on the Big Island
by Sandy Simpson

This DVD is a message based on this article.

With the resurgence of the old religion of Hawaii and the continual invocation of Pelé and other "deities" for years in the secular culture and even in churches with regards to worshipping 'Io, is it any wonder that those beings are beginning to manifest again?  In a story called "Night Marchers" on the Kawaihae site and in a YouTube video on the same subject, eyewitnesses claim all kinds of sightings that they think are the warriors, ancestors and demi-gods of Hawaii coming back.  Interestingly the first book the Hawaiian Heritage site recommends in its "Suggested Reading" list is "Perpetuated in Righteousness" by Daniel Kikawa that we reviewed in our book "Idolatry In Their Hearts" by Sandy Simpson and Mike Oppenheimer. Since Kikawa claims that 'Io is the True God and one that the Hawaiians worshipped in secret, we have to wonder if Kikawa also thinks 'Io is showing up in these night marches? Since YWAM, Aloha Ke Akua and Hilo New Hope participated in worshipping 'Io at the "edge of Hale-ma'uma'u Crater" it sounds like they have all been inviting the old "gods" to return to Hawaii.

"They Will Believe
The Lie"
by Sandy Simpson

This DVD is a message based on this article.

I am doing a Bible study right now on what I would call "renewing our minds".  It is based on this verse:

Romans 12:2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will.

The only way to renew our minds is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, confess our sins, and be saved, then to study the written Word and allow the indwelling Holy Spirit to teach us.  Our minds are corrupted by virtue of the sin nature and what we have learned in life because our filters are off. I gave an illustration of straining coconut to make coconut milk.  If you use a 1 inch screen everything will pass through.  Even if you use a quarter inch screen you will get mostly coconut meat in your milk.  You have to use a fine screen in order to separate the milk from the leftover.  Our filters are off and the first thing God begins to do is correct our worldview, because if your worldview is off you will not understand God's reality.  We need to learn to see things from His perspective.  This is why I started this study by going back to an original problem.

2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

This has always been an interesting passage to me for a few different reasons.  What is "the lie" that is talked about here in verse 9 and 11?  What are the ways that "wickedness deceives those who are perishing" and how long has this been going on or does this only begin to happen at the coming of the lawless one?  In what way does "the lie" cause those who do not believe the truth to "delight in wickedness"?

The First Nations Movement
Deceiving The Nations!
4-DVD Series

Critical Missiological Issue!

The "Indigenous People's" (IPM) or "First Nations" movement is an unbiblical movement teaching heresies and doctrines of demons. It is being spread worldwide by YWAM, Don Richardson, John Dawson, Richard Twiss, Terry LeBlanc, Daniel Kikawa and many other adherents.  The IPM or World Christian Gathering On Indigenous People is full of the false teachings of the Third Wave, New Apostolic Reformation (NAR), Word-Faith, Dominionism, Latter Rain and many other false theological systems.  But it does have it's own distinctives that are driven by the works of Daniel Kikawa, Richard Twiss, and Don Richardson in particular.  They are teaching Christians to "redeem" their cultures by worshipping their former gods, pretending they are YHWH.

"Christians" Who Try To Poke Holes In Sola Scriptura
by Sandy Simpson

This DVD is a message based on this article: "Christians" Who Try To Poke Holes In Sola Scriptura

There are a number of the leadership of the Emerging Church (EC) who do not believe that the Bible is the highest authority for the Christian faith.  Most do not believe that the Bible is inerrant in the original manuscripts and many do not acknowledge that the Bible is our highest revelation.  Yet this is a core doctrine over which true believers and false brethren must separate. Those who try to poke holes in Sola Scriptura make excuses like (1) we need to reinterpret the Bible through the lens of postmodern culture and religion (2) the Bible never uses the words "Sola Scriptura" therefore it is not a Biblical concept (3) there is new revelation for the church through the Holy Spirit apart from what is written and the precepts of the Bible and (4) the Bible just doesn't address our postmodern situation therefore we cannot rely on it for the truth and answers for our problems today.  I will prove that all the above arguments, and more, from EC leaders and others is exactly what they are teaching.  I will give you quotes from their teachings, videos and books. The postmodern church and its "movements" are abandoning Sola Scriptura in their rush to be like the Roman Catholic Church, which takes its authority from a mix of Scripture and tradition.

"As a result the Church, to whom the transmission and interpretation of Revelation is entrusted, "does not derive her certainty about all revealed truths from the holy Scriptures alone. Both Scripture and Tradition must be accepted and honored with EQUAL sentiments of devotion and reverence." (Roman Catholic Catechism, Given October 11, 1992, the thirtieth anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council, in the fourteenth year of my Pontificate. Page 31).

The Question Of Dominion
by Sandy Simpson

This DVD is a message based on this article: The Question Of Dominion.

I am writing this article as an apologetic against the Third Wave, Latter Rain, Word of Faith and Reformed Theology teachings that the Church is to rise up and take over the systems of government, businesses and every other aspect of life. "See, the problem is, is that Satan has had too much of his way in our society because he has a government!  And the only way to overthrow a government is with a government.  It won't happen otherwise.  So therefore the government of the church has to get into place in the extended church just like we do have it very well in place, we haven't reached our goal yet ..."  (Transcript of C. Peter Wagner, Arise Prophetic Conference, Gateway Church, San Jose, CA, 10-10-2004) Wagner has substituted the "government of the church" for the coming government of Jesus Christ in the Millennial Kingdom.  Wagner is "Kingdom Now" while the Bible teaches "Kingdom Come". What I wanted to do with this article is put the issue of dominion to rest by studying the definition the Bible gives to dominion and ruling authority.  When we look at the subject we can easily ascertain what is going on today and what God requires of the Church.

Shepherd Or Hireling?
by Sandy Simpson

This DVD is a message based on the article: "Shepherd Or Hireling?"

The Bible lays out the definitions of both an overseer (under shepherd) and a hireling.  John 10:11-13  I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. (KJV)  1 Tim. 3:1-3   Here is a trustworthy saying: If anyone sets his heart on being an overseer, he desires a noble task. Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. (NIV)  Titus 1:7-13  Since an overseer is entrusted with God's work, he must be blameless, not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. Rather he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined. He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it. For there are many rebellious people, mere talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision group. They must be silenced, because they are ruining whole households by teaching things they ought not to teach - and that for the sake of dishonest gain. Even one of their own prophets has said, "Cretans are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons." This testimony is true. Therefore, rebuke them sharply, so that they will be sound in the faith. (NIV) A hireling does not really care about being a watchman, but is more concerned with protecting his reputation, position and income.  A true watchman will guard the flock against wolves from within (Acts 20:30) and without (Acts 20:29) no matter the cost to his reputation, position or income. Following is a little quiz you can take to see if you are a true Biblical under shepherd as a leader in your church, are becoming a hireling, or are one now.

Testing Music In The Church
by Sandy Simpson

This DVD is a message based on these articles: Testing Music In The Church, Testing Music In The Church-Part 2, and Worship Song Ratings.

Too many churches today are allowing music to be used in their services that is not glorifying to the Lord and can actually be a hindrance to the teaching of sound doctrine. Pastors and leaders should be using their leadership role to test what is being played and sung in their churches. Though some are quick to test preaching and teaching from their pulpits, many ignore the music being used in the same services. This is a tragic mistake. Music is a powerful medium. It is something that effects deeply the body, mind and emotions. It is a proven fact that music often stays with a person far longer than what is taught or preached. Songs roam around in our heads, especially if the melody appeals to us. What is often overlooked is the serious impression music makes on people, and the teaching they are getting over and over again as they allow the song to repeat in their minds and on their lips. Music teaches things much more subtly yet sometimes far more effectively. That's why the lyrical content of music in the church, as well as its effect on the spiritual lives of those who perform and listen, should be vigorously examined by the leaders of the church.  This is a 2-DVD set.

Examine Yourselves & Hold On!
by Sandy Simpson

This DVD is a message based on the articles "Examine Yourself To See If You Are In The Faith" and "Hold On!"

2 Cor. 13:5  Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves.
Do you not realise that Christ Jesus is in you - unless, of course, you fail the test?

People who call themselves followers of Christ or "Christians" and claim they are born again must believe certain things.  If they do not then they fail the test of faith.  They can claim they are born again all they want and "once saved, always saved" but if they fail the test of faith there is no eternal security.  Only God knows who will be saved, from beginning to end, because of His foreknowledge and omniscience (Rom. 8:29, 1 Pet. 1:2).  God did not make an arbitrary judgment about who would be saved and who would not.  His Spirit is given to those He foreknew, when convicted of sin by His Holy Spirit, would choose to believe and commit themselves to Jesus Christ.  We are not God and we do not have His omniscience.  Therefore, according to Paul, we must be sure our belief system is in the right place once our eyes have been opened to the Truth.  I am not saying we do not have assurance of salvation, but our assurance comes not only because of His Atonement and promises of salvation but from our continuing in the Faith, which is always the Biblical criteria. Those who would be Bible teachers must teach according to the whole counsel of God's Word.  Let me be clear. There is only one way to salvation.  That is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.  I will deal with a few of those issues following, but it is important to recognize that being saved is not just a matter of believing that Jesus lived, or that He was a man, or simply giving mental ascent to His existence in whatever form.

"Blasphemizing" The Bible
by Sandy Simpson

This DVD is a message based on this article.

I am going to go over an article I wrote back in 2006 in preparation for the book I wrote with Mike Oppenheimer called “Idolatry in Their Hearts'.  This book is an apologetic against the false teachings of the World Christian Gathering on Indigenous People movement, the Emerging Church and the New Apostolic Reformation which got their ideas from the book “Eternity in Their Hearts" by Don Richardson.  At the time that book came out no one really saw the dangerous ideas Richardson was promoting.  All they would have had to do was look at the two subtitles of that book to understand the implications.  The first subtitle in the 1981 edition read: The Untold Story of Christianity among Folk Religions of Ancient People.  Those who read this book found some interesting cross-cultural ideas but apparently missed the false premise of the book starting with the subtitle. How could Christianity be “among folk religions" where the Gospel had not been preached (Rom. 10:14-15)? At that time Christians who read the book were apparently satisfied that, though there was some questionable material present, it made for an interesting discussion on how to do cross-cultural ministry. The subtitle it has today, which was first published in 1984, is as follows: Startling Evidence of Belief in the One True God in Hundreds of Cultures Throughout the World.  This should have been a red flag for many Christians but then, who reads subtitles?  But how could the “One True God" be known to Ge“not know God".

Resources For Pastors
"Good English Bible Translations"
by Sandy Simpson

This DVD is a message based on this article.

I was talking with a pastor after a Wednesday night service and he mentioned that I said I had done an article comparing English Bible translations.  He called me up later and asked me to come back and present the contents of that article I sent out in about 2002 to my mailing list for the Pacific Waves Newsletter which, unfortunately, I can no longer afford to publish and mail.  However an archive of past issues of that newsletter can be found here. In that article I detailed a number of good and bad resources for pastors including Bible translations, concordances, commentaries, Bible dictionaries, etc.  I present an edited version of part of that article on this DVD, particularly dealing with English Translations of the Bible.  Translation is a very detailed endeavor and should only be undertaken by those with a proper education in that subject and a sound doctrinal background.  I read a few books on that subject and it helped me understand the complexities involved.  Hebrew is a rich language so it is hard to distill one Hebrew word down to one English word.  Greek is a very technical language and it is also not easy to translate.  This is why it is imperative to use the good English translations out there for comparison along with a good concordance and Bible dictionary.

Kingdom Now or Kingdom Come?
by Sandy Simpson

This DVD is a message based on this article.

There are two kingdoms being taught in many churches today. Teaching about one of the kingdoms is on the decline while the other is being promoted all over the place.  I am warning Christians that they need to check out who is using the word "kingdom", the books they have been reading and recommend on building "the kingdom", the people they have been hanging out with at conferences, and what they mean by "the kingdom".

This DVD series is a teaching based on this article.

From Church To Emerging Church DVD Series
by Sandy Simpson
The issue of the Emerging Church and it's introduction into many churches and mission organizations has reached a critical point.  Many do not undersand what is being leavened into churches by the EC leadership.  Many would be shocked to know their belief systems involve Universalism, New Age, defense of postmodernism, Interfaithism, and many other false doctrines.  In order to reach out to this generation the EC leadership is proposing a whole new "map" to deal with what they perceive is a lack of understanding on the part of the churches on how to communicate.  EC proponants believe the "scripture" for today is evolving and must change in order to reach postmoderns.

Idolatry In Their Hearts
Landmark Book!
by Sandy Simpson & Mike Oppenheimer
Does having eternity in your heart mean that you know God and are His child? Could Gentile cultures understand the Gospel from the stars? Did God create man's cultures? Has God always been in the process of redeeming cultures from the time of Babel by placing in them a true revelation of Himself? Is there the worship of YHWH in all cultures and religions through the names of supreme beings?  Have all cultures always had a way to make things right between them and God? These questions and many more are answered in this book that addresses the false teachings of The New Apostolic Reformation regarding missiological methods as being carried out by many agencies including the World Christian Gathering on Indigenous People, YWAM, and many Bible societies.

Lessons In Forgiveness
Great Study!
by Sandy Simpson

Through the years I have been presented with many opportunities to forgive. Sometimes the situation was so severe that it took me some time to forgive and start the process of healing for myself, and eventually for others. I learned that a Christian needs to forgive other people even if they have not repented of their sins. That can be really hard if we let it be hard. But if we give our burdens over to the Lord, He will carry them and that frees us up to treat other people with love, compassion, and be in the right frame of mind and heart to set them up for reconciliation with Jesus Christ. That does not mean we tolerate their sin. We simply forgive them for what they have done to us, whether perceived or real, and move on to looking for ways to redeem them. We can then present to them the "truth in love" even when we have to rebuke them.

Articles on Ecumenism and interfaith "unity".

(1) The "Evangelicals and Catholics Together" Document
"A formal declaration boldly documents the Evangelical and Catholic commitment to work together to evangelize and bring about social reform in the world. The Evangelicals and Catholics Together: The Christian Mission in the Third Millennium has, in effect, laid the groundwork for Evangelicals to set aside their distinctive doctrines and unite with the Catholic Church and other religions which are coming together by 2000 A.D."  Also read the article "The Evangelical Seduction" by T.A. McMahon.

(3) Billy Graham Interview With Robert Schuller by Joseph R. Chambers, D.D., 1998
This unfortunate interview was conducted by Rev. Robert Schuller in 1997.  For a copy of the video tape this interview came from,  call Robert Schuller Today at 1-800-9POWER9, and order the $20 video tape of the May 31, 1997 (Program #1426) Hour of Power TV broadcast message titled, "Say 'Yes' To Possibility Thinking."  Please note that the corresponding $5 audio tape DOES NOT contain the interview with Billy Graham - i.e., you really have to cough up the $20 if you want to see this evidence that one of the men God has used to bring countless millions to salvation has now given in to the spirit of the age, the spirit of false unity called Ecumenism and Inter-Faith.  We must pray for people like Billy Graham, whom God has used in the past to preach the message of the gospel, but is now old and is apparently being misled by people who are wolves in sheep's clothing.  We do not agree with Graham's stance on ecumenism nor do we endorse his practice of sending new believers back to apostate churches.  For more evidence that Billy Graham is either losing his critical faculties or is just plain deceived, read Billy Graham's Disobedience To The Word Of God. For his ecumenical view of RCC, read Billy Graham & His Bible.  For other quotes from crusades and articles, read Billy Graham - The Facts.

(4) Luis Palau by Biblical Discernment Ministries, 1998
Like some other well known evangelists, pastors and teachers, Luis Palau has been slipping further and further into ecumenicalism -- unity for unity's sake.  How could this happen to a man whom God has used to preach the gospel to millions of people?  This article details that slide and is a vivid reminder that just because a Christian with the gift of evangelism is famous does not mean Christians should stand for unsound doctrine that is preached or practiced by that person.  It takes more to preach the gospel than to simply declare a formula on how to be saved.  It looks to us as though Palau is watering down the gospel message; making overtures to a number of apostate churches, sending people back to them after they allegedly make a decision to follow Christ; and joining organizations with doctrinal stands that are against Scripture.  Luis Palau is perhaps one of the greatest communicators of our age.  Although this article tends to nitpick at some issues that are secondary, in our opinion, it does highlight the fact that Christians need to be very discerning about advising non-believers to go to a crusade where new believers are sent back to apostate churches such as the Roman Catholic Church or Third Wave churches that have been spawned from such movements as the Toronto "Blessing" or Brownsville A/G to be discipled with unbiblical doctrines and practices.

(5) Schuller Meets With Cho And Pope by The Calvary Contender, 1998
Things are really gearing up for the Jubilee 2000 celebration around the world.  All the "biggies" will apparently be there to "ride the beast".

(6) Ecumenism - Where Do You Draw The Line? by Sandy Simpson, 1998
"This is a short essay to illustrate just how unbiblical, subjective and relativistic Ecumenism really is.  Ecumenism starts innocently enough. Is begins with a tolerant perspective of other denominations.  Then it moves on to cults.  Finally it ends in an acceptance of other religions, evolving into what is called "Inter-Faith".

(7) Let No One Deceive You With Ecumenical Evangelism by Mike Gendron, 1998
"As we approach the new millennium, we are witnessing the greatest push toward ecumenical unity the world has ever seen. Under the banner of AD 2000 all professing Christians are urged to join hands to fulfill the Great Commission before the year 2000. This pronounced urgency for ecumenical evangelism is an attempt to provide Jesus a wonderful 2000th birthday present when He returns. The movement  has easily captured the fancy of many Christians.  However, the proposal for all Christians to forget their differences and unite for the purpose of evangelizing the world, completely ignores the fact that Roman Catholic, Orthodox and many Protestant churches preach a false gospel that denies the sufficiency of Jesus Christ and His finished work of redemption. A key to the success of this effort to unite has been a commitment to "tolerate one another's beliefs and just love Jesus." Overlooked in their zeal is the fact that if they all loved the same "Jesus" they would not tolerate a compromised gospel."

(8) Promise Keepers
We can no longer support Promise Keepers because of many problems with doctrines that are taught, the background, teachings and guiding force behind the movement (Vineyard, Latter Rain, Joel's Army), their compromised doctrinal statement, and especially their ecumenical goals.  Here is an article that has many quotes from leaders of this organization providing ample proof that they are ecumenical and aberrant, if not heretical in doctrine.  This long article details a lot of what has been taught by Promise Keepers.

(9) Promise Keepers Changes Doctrinal Statement To Appease Catholics by David W. Cloud, 1997
"When Promise Keepers first published its brief statement of faith, it did not include the phrase "by faith alone." It was added because of the outcry of those who protested that the absence of this phrase leaves room for false gospels which mix grace and works, faith and sacraments. You see, false gospelers do not deny that salvation is by faith and by grace. What they deny is that it is by grace ALONE through faith ALONE without works and sacraments of any sort. Now we see that Promise Keepers has again modified its statement to remove "by faith alone" to please the Catholic leaders with whom they are fellowshipping. Promise Keepers vice president, Paul Edwards, tells us that PK's doctrinal statement is "dynamic" and "open to change." This is typical of those with an ecumenical agenda. They claim that sound doctrine is precious to them, but in practice they are incredibly flexible and nonchalant about the most foundational of doctrines."

(10) Promise Keepers Woos Catholics by Jim Kirksey, Denver Post Staff Writer, 1998
"Bill McCartney and his Promise Keepers were embraced by the Denver Catholic Archdiocese ... at a gathering of more than 250 men, and a handful of women, at the John Paul II Center in south Denver. "

(11) Who Is God by Luis Palau, 1997
Here is a "Luis Palau Responds" article that seems odd to us.  See if you agree with this sentence taken from the article: "The bottom line is you can be any religion you want to be, as long as what you believe about God corresponds to reality."  Is this really true?  How can a person find Jesus Christ as a Buddhist, as Palau indicates?  How can a person find salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone in the Roman Catholic church?  How can a person be of ANY religion other than true Christianity, even Judaism, and not acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the Messiah?  How does Luis Palau think God views worshipping Him while continuing to worship other gods?  No other "religions" own God at all.  No religion does.  But only Judaism and Christianity worship YHWH.  Other religions worship demons.  God has revealed Himself to this age through His Only Son, Jesus Christ who is made evident through the body of Christ, the Christian church.  You cannot exclude the body of Christ or the Scriptures from the process of coming to the full knowledge of God.  It is impossible.  These statements by Luis Palau indicate just how far he has slid into ecumencalism and interfaith compromise. (Original location of this file was at: but it has since been taken off the web.)

(12) Pacific Revival Center - Wolves Among The Flock by Deception In The Church, 1998
"There is a church that is trying desperately to ingratiate itself with the rest of the body of Christ on Guam.  This article is a warning that they are hiding behind the fact that they "went out from us" long ago (1 Jn. 2:19).  The church is affiliated with the UPCI (United Pentecostal Church International).  It has recently changed its name to Pacific Revival Center.  They have managed to get their church prominently displayed in the Pacific Daily News in the Lifestyle section, have advertised "miracle" and "revival" meetings at which unseemly pleas for money were made, and have started a semi-regular "Worship & Praise" event that they are inviting all churches on Guam to participate in."

(13) The Dangers Of The Alpha Course by Deception In The Church, 1998
"The Alpha Course, though teaching some truth, also lays truth alongside error.  The wooing of people using the gospel message, only to later enslave them in ritualism, works salvation, and occult manifestations is one of the great deceptions of our time.  One of the cleverest ploys of the enemy in our day is to allow "unprincipled" men to use the salvation message as an enticement to unsuspecting and untrained people, while they secretly introduce false doctrine, thereby giving "the devil a foothold" for fleshly manifestations and temptations in their lives.  The men who designed this course are laying error alongside truth, introducing error secretly ("pareisaxousinin" in Greek) the result of which will ruin the faith of the believer in the end.  The Bible says of this process: "But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them--bringing swift destruction on themselves." (2 Pet. 2:1) Beware of the Alpha Course!" (14) Assemblies Of God & World Council Of Churches Together by Ecumenical News International, 1998
A recent Ecumenical News report mentioned that a World Council of Churches "continuation committee" included a "respected Pentecostal representative" from the Assemblies of God and a representative from the Roman Catholic Church. (9/21/98) The committee's objective is to form a global ecumenical forum.

(16) Rick Joyner, Paul Cain, Knights Of Malta, And Saddam Hussein by Paw Creek Ministries, 1998
"Something breathtaking is happening among key Charismatics (Third Wavers) like Rick Joyner and Paul Cain.  Rick Joyner recently announced that he was knighted by the Knights Of Malta.  Apparently, Paul Cain had already been knighted or was knighted at the same time." (17) Pope John Paul II Receives The Mark of "Aarti", A Prayer To The Hindu Goddess Durga
This is a photo of the pope receiving the mark of a prayer "aarti" to the Hindu female goddess Durga by a professing Christian Hindu woman.  By the time this photo was taken, however, the pope had already been involved in a number of pagan rituals on his trip to India in 1986, including taking the mark of Shiva.  Here is the documented quote: "Still at Madras on February 5, 1986, 'A sugarcane, fashioned into the form of a cross, signifying a Hindu offering to a carnal god, was brought into the presence of the Pope. A little later, during the offertory procession, a coconut was carried to the altar, a typical Hindu offering, which they offer to their idols. Finally, a man placed sacred ashes on his forehead. IT WAS NOT A MATTER OF TILAC BUT OF SACRED ASHES OR VIBHUTI. (*164) THREE DAYS EARLIER, ON FEBRUARY 2, HE HAD RECEIVED ON HIS FOREHEAD THE TILAC OR TIKA, THE RED POWDERY PASTE OF THE HINDUS, THE SIGN OF THE ADORERS OF SHIVA. (*165) *164 ‘Msgr.’ Lefebvre, op. cit. p.177. *165 La Croix of February 6, and 'I' Express' of February 7/13, 1986, with photo."  The Catholic objections to this photo, and their deceptive tactics to try to hide what the pope did on the web, have unearthed even further evidence of the interfaith dabbling with demons by the papacy.

(18) Some Scandalous Photographs of John Paul II
More photos of compromising situations where the Pope is seen in a display of interfaith "unity" with those outside of what would be considered "Christian" circles.  But, as you can clearly see, we are not talking about a Christian organization when we talk about the Vatican.  We are talking about an apostate cultic version of "Christianity" that is trying desperately to position itself to ride the coming U.N. global government.

(19) Preach That Gospel, John Paul II!
Here's a lesson on how to win friends and influence people.  Don't preach that Jesus Christ is the only Way, Truth and Life but entice people with the concept of a female deity!  I'm sure this went over well with the Hindus in attendance from Bombay.  What better way to use every opportunity we have to witness for Christ!  This article was taken directly from the official Vatican site at and is an official documentation of a "General Audience" with the Pope.

(20) Evangelical Leaders Participate In Papal Mass by David Cloud, 1998
"Pat Robertson and Bill Bright participated in a papal mass in New York's Central Park during John Paul II's October visit to the United States. According to the Religious News Service, Pat Robertson marched at the head of an ecumenical procession (which included Bright) to the papal altar and was seated with Protestant, Orthodox and other Christian leaders. Robertson is the Charismatic head of the 700 Club and Bright is the head of Campus Crusade for Christ."

(21) The Significance Of Filled Stadiums by Ed Tarkowski, 1996
"What makes this unity dangerous is this: (a) Doctrinal differences are being set aside in order to tear down denominational walls for the sake of demonstrating what is being called biblical unity.  (b) This is the door through which Latter Rain "manifestations" of "glory" enter! "

(23) Latter Rain And Promise Keepers by John Yonge, 1999
"After joining the Kansas City crew, Cain prophesied that stadiums the world over will be filled with Christians enroute to building the "army" and taking the world for Christ. And wouldn't you know it that shortly afterwards, the leader of Promise Keepers, Bill McCartney, who is a Latter Rainist from the Vineyard church in Boulder, Colorado, started filling stadiums with Christian men from all denominations."

(24) The Alpha Course - Final Answer Or Fatal Attraction? by G. Richard Fisher, 1999
"When the April 27, 1998, edition of Christianity Today magazine ran a full-page advertisement promoting a new line of resources by the respected Christian publisher, David C. Cook Communications, how could one doubt the trustworthiness of such materials? If along with that, they were endorsed in that same promotion by J.I. Packer, Alister McGrath, Luis Palau and Leighton Ford, how could one hesitate even for a moment — how could one resist? Surely this is a bandwagon worthy of a ride. The Alpha program sounds like a great idea. After all, with such heavyweights backing it and a program to facilitate an introduction to the Christian faith (with weekend retreats and group discussions) it has to be good — or does it? If nothing else, one must admit that Alpha is packaged impressively for maximum sales. Popularity does not mean that something is true. If it did, Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny would be real entities. Popularity does not automatically equal truth nor can it create truth."

(27) The "Evangelical Celebration" Document by Rev. Jerry Moser, 1999
"It must be questioned by serious Bible believers whether drafting yet another document is the biblical way to address compromise in presenting the Gospel--since following the biblical method is as essential as the Gospel itself. The Apostle Paul’s method in defending the Gospel is like that of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. It is to lay a charge against those who teach false doctrine, and in so doing to glorify the Father. After the Apostle pronounces the judgment of God on those who continued in a false gospel, he explained his guideline for doing so, "For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ." (Galatians 1:10)  Four of the endorsers of ECT II were involved in the actual drafting of this present document. They are J. I. Packer, Timothy George, Thomas Oden, and John Woodbridge. Leading Evangelicals together with these four men have drafted and published EC. It is of the utmost importance to ask if these four signatories to ECT II--men who now have been included as drafters of EC--have repented both privately and publicly of what they had previously signed? If so, to whom was the statement made and where may their public repentance statement be found? Have they formally responded to the resolution passed at the 1999 Ex-Catholics for Christ (ECFC) conference which called for them to "publicly renounce the ECT accords and ask the church at large for forgiveness for their past participation in these accords?"

(28) Tony Campolo - Interfaith ... Here We Come! by Andy Neckar, CNV News Service, 1999
"On a recent edition of CNN's Crossfire, Tony Campolo refused to say Jesus is the only way to heaven. The panel was discussing events at the Southern Baptist Convention in Atlanta. Campolo would not answer the question directly but said, "The Apostle Paul says that there are people who have light that is not Christian light, and they will be judged on that basis." (32) The Cell Church Model - Alpha Course Lite? by Sandy Simpson, 1999
"The cell group model out of Singapore is Alpha Course Lite!  It is simply another front for the Third Wave, another way to seduce churches, looking for a more personal approach, to be more like the house churches of the first century ... and to subtly introduce heresy.  Remember the M.O. of false teachers: 2 Pet. 2:1  But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them--bringing swift destruction on themselves."

(33) Alpha - The Last Word In Evangelism? by Chris Hand, 1998
"Many people claim to have been helped through going on the Alpha course and believe it has brought them an understanding of God and how to respond to Him.  Testimonies and accounts of wonderful things that have happened to individuals abound.  In the light of all this, surely there cannot be anything wrong with it?  With so many in today's society gripped by materialism and atheism, can Alpha be anything other than a good thing?  As young people become hopelessly enmeshed in a godless culture, should we not applaud the efforts of Alpha and help make it a success? We wished that the answers to these questions could be an emphatic 'Yes'. But closer examination of Alpha prevents such a clean bill of health being given to it.  Why this concern?  There are six vital reasons we would like to bring to your attention."

(35) Houses Built Upon The Sand - A Biblical Examination Of The Lighthouse Movement by Delusion & Apostasy Watch News, 9/25/99
There are a few interesting facts in this series of articles.  First, there is a list of the current participating church denominations and parachurch organizations who have already covenanted with Lighthouse.  Second, we find out that Lighthouse is attempting to sign up and collect personal information into a very large computer database on all its members and churches.  Third, we can see looming behind this veiled attempt at evangelism an agenda leading many into the apostate Third Wave and ultimately to the "woman who rides the beast".  The people behind this organization, such as C. Peter Wagner and Edwardo Silvoso are, on the one hand, at the forefront of promoting and organizing the "New Apostolic Reformation" where they are attempting to build a new foundation for the "church", and on the other attempting to implement this Lighthouse scheme that is supposed to benefit the cause of Christ.  After reading this information it becomes clear what true believers and the true Body of Christ ought to do ... (1) stay out of this organization (2) do not submit your information to this database (3)  remain in your local church in the area the Lord has called you to (4) continue to do the work of preaching the gospel and taking care of the less fortunate without the assistance and materials of programs like these (5) and avoid any association with these people or any events they promote.

(36) The World Christian Movement - Evangelism Vs. Evangelization by Albert James Dager, Media Spotlight, Volume 22 - Number 1 (Summer 1999)
"The Lord's prophecy concerning the greatest end-time deception should warn us that things are not always as they seem. For a deception to be so seductive that even the very elect would take pause to wonder if it is of God, it would have to have all the earmarks of a true work of God. That means it would come in the name of Jesus, it would have a great deal of solid biblical truth, it would affirm the Gospel, and it would be a "good work." And signs and wonders would accompany it. Those who might recognize and expose the deception would be looked upon as divisive, hateful and deceived themselves. For the most part, the churches would go along with the deception."  Read Part 1, Part 2, Part 3.  Part 4 is actually a seperate article on Dominion Theology.

(38) Cell Churches alias Life groups (cells), Cell groups, Neighborhood Groups, Oikos (household), Basic Christian Communities, Shepherd groups etc., by Jo Gardner, Adullam News No. 7, Feb. 97
"Just what we wanted! What a wonderful idea! recognition of house fellowships as churches! But wait! Jesus does say that ‘where two or three come together in my Name, there am I in the midst’  Matthew 8:20. Such a group IS a church in action, perhaps more so than some Sunday services. It has the imprimatur of Christ Himself."

(39) Observations On The Alpha Course by Alan Morrison, Jonathan Bayes and William Horsburgh, 1999
"These days it would appear that if you are bold enough to admit that you do not use the Alpha Course, you are likely to find that people look at you with gaping-mouthed disbelief, as if to ask, "And which planet do you live on?" The present popularity of the Alpha Course means that we need to evaluate whether we might be able to use it, and if we conclude that we ought not, then we need to be able to explain why we do not use it. Such evaluations and explanations have to be theologically based. It is not helpful to others to reject something of which we know nothing simply because of the stable from which it has
emerged. If we do reject it, we need to explain our reasons for doing so soundly but graciously."

"As we dig in the ecumenical walls for 1986 the most striking event we see is the Day of Prayer for World Peace. Never before in Christian history has there been a clearer fulfillment of the New Testament prophecies of the great falling away from the faith and of the formation of the Harlot one-world religion. Indeed, in this now famous peace meeting we see that the hour is very, very late, brethren."  Keep in mind that this is an Independent Baptist perspective.  Be aware that DITC does not agree with everything on this web site!  However, this is a good article on the RCC and Interfaithism.

(49) The Day of Pardon and Papal Penitence Century 21: Biblical Unity or Papal Conformity? by Richard Bennett and Michael de Semlyen, 2000
"On Sunday, March 12, the first Sunday of Lent, the Pope presided over a solemn ceremony called “The Day of Pardon” in St. Peter’s Basilica, Rome, in which he asked God for forgiveness for the historical wrongs of the Roman Catholic Church (RCC). The ceremony was presented as another profoundly significant event in the RC Church’s “Millennium Jubilee Holy Year” and a further step, unprecedented but necessary, in the process of unity. It was a modern media event staged for maximum impact to encourage “unity”. The impression given is that it is a genuine attempt to wipe the slate clean and to apologize for the past wrongs of the Church. Careful examination, however, shows that the Pope’s “Day of Pardon” was in fact not an apology, but rather a day of deception."

(53) Church Unity by Dr. Opal Reddin, 3/00
"Ecumenical pressures will continue to mount, and diverse winds of doctrine will blow fiercely against the Church. Should we succumb to a "fortress" mentality, hiding behind our orthodox doctrines and waiting for the Rapture to set us free from conflict? By no means! Jesus is building His Church, and He invites us to march with Him as we storm the gates of hell, setting captives free, and establishing churches where the rue Gospel is preached in power and glory. (61) Jumping On The Bandwagon - Australian Christian Churches Seduced by the Beat of a Different Drummer? by Hughie Seaborn, 9/00
"I think my title "Jumping on the Bandwagon" is an
appropriate description for the subject I am about to discuss, that of the February 2000 launching of Australian
Christian Churches (hereafter, ACC), the result of an initiative of the National Executive of the Assemblies of God in Australia (hereafter, AOG). The initiative called for an alliance between various Pentecostal and Charismatic
denominations in Australia with Brian Houston, General Superintendent of the Australian AOG, installed as the
inaugural President. The launching of the ACC has been hailed in both secular and Christian press as an enormous success in bringing together a number of independent Christian bodies for the purpose of "making a real difference in the community" and "offering a dynamic spiritual dimension missing from many people's lives." But is the ACC alliance really anything more than just a numbers and money game using secular and new-age
business principles in conjunction with questionable, but popular, and very successful church growth programs?"

(63) True Vs. False Unity by David Cloud, Way Of Life Literature, O Timothy magazine, Volume 12, Issue 1, 1994
"The Bible speaks of unity in two different ways. (1) A false unity based upon man's desires and goals independent of God (Gen. 11:1-9). The Bible condemns any proposed unity which is not founded in God's truth. The cry of the hour is unity of the world and unity of religion, but that is the false unity of the Antichrist (Rev. 17-18) and should be resisted by God's people. Ecumenism means the whole world, and it is the spirit of the end times apostasy. (2) A biblical unity based on apostolic truth (Ep. 4:3,13). In this passage we see true biblical unity. It is far removed from the ecumenical philosophy!"

"It has been but a short time since Charles Colson, like some modern day Chamberlain alighting from his aircraft, held aloft the ECT and declared, “Peace in our time.”  It has been a mere six years; yet the folly of their deeds, apparent to many before, has now been made apparent to all.  We can only conclude that if the “evangelicals” who signed that notorious document do not denounce the Vatican, then their act was not one of wishful thinking, but willful betrayal.  Rome has dropped her mask; the empty ecumenical charade has ended, and therefore it is time for those who love God’s word to sound the alarm in earnest.  Let us play the man, for our people, and for the cities of our God."

Billy Graham: "Well I think I am in wonderful fellowship with all of them."
Larry King: "You’re comfortable with Salt Lake City. You’re comfortable with the Vatican?"
Billy Graham: "I am very comfortable with the Vatican."
We are still waiting a reply to our letter to Billy Graham but still no repsonse!

(72) Graham Museum Honors First Pope As An Evangelist by David Cloud, 7/01
"...The Billy Graham Museum honors the first Roman pope as a great evangelist. This is in the Rotunda of Witnesses which is at the beginning of the tour. It is a circular room containing nine 20-foot tall banners or tapestries depicting various alleged fathers of evangelism. Museum literature says, "Each banner bears an individual witness selected from Christian history and was chosen on the merit of its revelation of Christ as Lord and Savior." The banners begin with the Apostle Paul and end with Oswald Chambers. Two of the men featured in this evangelistic hall of fame are Gregory the Great and Francis of Assisi. Both of these, of course, are Roman Catholics who preached a false sacramental gospel of faith-works."

(73) Salvation Army And The Roman Catholic Church by Rebecca A. Sexton, 8/01
"We, along with James, pray that the Salvation Army will reconsider its position of support for the doctrines of the Roman Catholic church. Roman Catholicism is a cult parading around as “Christian brothers”. If true Christians do not stand up against the lies of the RCC, then millions of Catholics will perish because we have failed to preach the truth to them, and perhaps millions more will be deceived into believing that truth must give way to unity."

(75) Globalism & Interfaith - Here We Come! by Sandy Simpson, 9/16/01
"As the days wear on in the aftermath of the attack on the World Trade Towers and the Pentagon, we are watching a globalist, interfaith agenda unfold on worldwide television.  I am here to say that if this continues the full wrath of God is bound to come upon our nation and the world!" - This article is also available in The Midnight Herald, November 2001, Volume V, No. 2 - Subscribe here.

(80) Another Interfaith Papal Prayer Meeting At Assisi by Zenit.Org, 1/23/02
DITC Comments: The pope organized yet another interfaith prayer meeting for world peace.  As with the last Assisi prayer event, almost every religion showed up as well as many Protestants.  But to pray for world peace to pagan gods is ludicrous.  Oh, it's nice to get together with other people for potluck, but to pray?  Who are they praying to?  Does it even matter anymore who God is to these people?  Perhaps he has simply become a fig newton of the imagination of man?  So many religions, cults and sects of Christianity were present.  Catholics, charismatic Catholics, Orthodox, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Shintoists, Confusionists, Zoroastrianists and others all got together with the Anglican Communion; World Lutheran Federation; Alliance of Reformed Churches; Pentecostals; World Baptist Alliance; Friends World Committee for Consultation (Quakers); Salvation Army; and the World Council of Churches.  The only world peace these people are going to accomplish is the short lived peace of the antichrist!

(81) The Exclusiveness Of Christ - Understanding the Present War by David Wilkerson, October 29, 2001
"Satan's ecumenical union of churches will bring about a great persecution. And the union itself will be the chief  persecuting force. Even now, the Russian Orthodox Church is pressuring Russia's government to shut down all evangelical churches in that country. They want to drive out evangelical Christianity completely from their midst. Here in America we see the beginnings of the same kind of pressure. I was handed a videotape of a network TV interview with a well-known evangelist. The interviewer asked the minister point blank: "Will Muslims be saved? And will Jews be saved if they don't believe in Jesus?" Clearly, the evangelist was being pressed into a corner. He knew if he answered with Peter's statement, "There is no other name whereby men can be saved except Jesus Christ, the Son of God," he would have been despised. The press would have crucified him. Instead, the evangelist was applauded for his answer: "Muslims love Jesus. And Jews have the Spirit of Jesus in them. Yes, they'll both be saved." I couldn't believe what I heard this committed Christian leader saying."

(82) Amalgamation of Apostates - Word of Faith, Pentecostal and Charismatic Leaders Unite by Charisma News Service, 6/5/02
"Almost 30 senior figures representing Word of Faith, Charismatic, traditional Pentecostal and Oneness Pentecostals met for three days at a Washington, D.C.-area hotel to talk and pray in an unprecedented move toward unity."

(83) Evangelicals And Pagans Together by Bill Randles, Dicernment Newsletter, September/October 2002
The world loves this kind of spirituality but God hates it. Jehoshaphat, a genuinely godly king of Judah, attempted a "good" thing -- all in the name of unity, of course. This "good" thing was joining forces with the apostate King Ahab in a war against the Syrians. After barely escaping with his life, and that by the mercy of God, Jehoshaphat was confronted by Jehu the prophet with a message that perhaps applies to our leaders in this day: "Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the Lord?" (2 Chron. 19:2)

(84) Dr. Billy Graham's Universalism: Again And Again by Dr. O. Talmadge Spence, Christian Purities Fellowship, February/March 1998, Volume 26, Number 1
I simply believe that those who were genuinely saved under the Billy Graham ministry have now a responsibility
to the world of a judgment that heretofore they may have thought they did not have to make. I had rather for them defend Graham's message instead of myself. But the Billy Graham evangelistic theological ball is now in their own court. I wonder what they will do with it. The world has given too much aura to one man.

(85) A Chink In The Armor by Jacob Prasch, edited for print by Sandy Simpson, Discernment Conference 2001, Calvary Chapel Pearl Harbor, Honolulu, HI, 3/11/01
Jehoshaphat was a good man, a good man who made bad errors.  And right before our eyes there are good men today making that same bad errors.  May God in His mercy correct them and protect us.

(87) Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) by Mike Oppenheimer, Let Us Reason Ministries, 3/03
Is this a Christian television station or a mixture that will bring a unity of Christianity with the world and other religions?

(88) In Bed With TBN by Jackie Alnor, Christian Sentinel Report, May 2003
The Christian Sentinel and many others have written to respectable church leaders who are regular guests on TBN or have their own programs on that network. We have asked them their reasoning for it. Half of our letters over the past couple of decades remain unanswered, but those who did respond -- to a man -- agree that TBN is full of spiritual poison. They defend their position as trying to be light in the darkness. But our argument is that they can’t do that without compromise. One word spoken against the Word/Faith heresies and they will be cut off.

(89) The Papacy And Islam by Richard Bennett and Robert J. Nicholson, 2003
The Pope's profession of a ‘civilization of love’ in his rapprochement with Islam represents only another tactical re-appraisal of circumstances and opportunities for Rome.  It is merely the old idol of humanistic sentiment religiously recycled and held out to the world as the cohesive force that will unite all sincere religious people in a concordat of international condemnation against the kind of anti-social fanaticism that led to the September 11th horror.  The profound danger for Evangelical people is that they,
unthinking, might come to embrace Rome’s claim to be the true spokesman for Christ on this earth, a lie which is deeply embedded in this new thrust for inter-faith ecumenicity.

(90) Ecumenism Fostered By Mysticism by Ed Tarkowski, STAND & COMFORT Newsletter #47 (Vol 3 No 14)
The trend toward mystical exercises and experiences continues to rise, spurred on by interdenominational fellowship within Christianity and fellowship and prayer with non-Christian religions brought about through public tragedies. The meditations and contemplations are basically the same in purpose, though the names they are given vary depending on one's religious affiliation (Christian, Hindu, Buddhism, etc). Is there danger in these like spiritual experiences being practiced across the board?

(91) Fuller Seminary to Create Interfaith Code of Ethics Compiled by Ted Olsen, Christianity Today, 12/08/2003
"One of the nation's leading evangelical Christian seminaries has launched a federally funded project for making peace with Muslims, featuring a proposed code of ethics that rejects offensive statements about each other's faiths, affirms a mutual belief in one God, and pledges not to proselytize," Times religion writer Teresa Watanabe begins her story.

(92) Is This Evangelicalism's Terminal Generation? by Albert Mohler Author, Speaker, President of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, 6/1/2004
The shape of the evangelical challenge in postmodern America comes down to this--we must be continually on the alert to defend the faith, for the Christian faith now faces unprecedented attacks. The rise of a postmodern culture has produced an intellectual context in which the very concept of truth is held under suspicion, and claims to revealed truth are simply ruled out of order.

(93) Open Letter To Ravi Zacharias by Bud Press, Christian Research Service, 11/04
Mouw must be held accountable for his statements. He needs to repent and apologize to those who work tirelessly to promote the real Jesus to the Mormons, as well as other non-Christian cults.

Can Christians and Mormons stand together? A dialogue to bring us closer in unity. ... Greg Johnson, director of Standing Together Ministries, located in Utah has teamed up with Mormon representative, Robert Millet, to go on a public tour of what they call, dialogues between an Evangelical and Mormon. Robert Millet and Pastor Greg Johnson are trying to develop relationships between the two “churches” in a new way.

(100) WCC, NAE, Buddhists, Muslims and Hindus by Herescope, Discernment Research Group, 5/12/06
It isn't just the neo-evangelical leaders who are finding common ground with other world religions (see this week's Herescope posts). The 9th Assembly of the World Council of Churches, held February 14-23 in Porto Alegre, Brazil is leading the charge. And the NAE isn't far behind!

(103) Will the Real Evangelicals Please Stand Up?
Great Commission or Great Omission? by Sherry Neese, Apostasy Alert, 8/21/07
Pope Benedict’s recent statement removed any shadow of doubt as to the unbreachable chasm that exists between the religious system he represents and the biblical view of salvation. According to the old adage, "Hope springs eternal" one might think that dispelling this myth would bring all ecumenical overtures to Rome to a screeching halt. Not so. A meeting was held August 8-12 in Toulouse, France, jointly hosted by the Vatican and the World Council of Churches for the purpose of coming to a meeting of the minds on a code of conduct for evangelizing.

(104) Bush: All religions pray to 'same God' reported by Roger Oakland, Understanding The Times, 10/7/07
Based on facts provided in the following article, the United States of America is headed for judgment.  President Bush, who professes to be a Christian, does not understand biblical Christianity. He is a player who is dedicated to moving the world towards a one world religion for the cause of peace that is ANTICHRISTIAN.

(105) Can a Christan pray to Allah? by Pastor Chuck Baldwin, Food For Thought, 10/07
Therefore, when President Bush says Muslims and Christians worship the same god, he is saying the Lord Jesus Christ is not superior to the pagan moon god, Allah. Or to turn it around, Bush is saying the pagan moon god, Allah, is equal to the Lord Jesus Christ. And it would appear that Bush would have the same belief regarding the Shinto gods, or any other pagan god, for that matter.

(106) Trading Truth for Solidarity by Berit Kjos, May 2007
It's no secret that the today's world system is driven by a vision of global solidarity and spiritual pluralism. We don't know God's precise schedule, but He warned us long ago to prepare for a time of "falling away," when people with "itching ears" would trade truth for myth and reject the "sound doctrine" needed to guard against deception.  Do those signs describe our times?

What we are witnessing: 1. The world continues to rush toward a major conflict in the Middle East that will lead to a change in government[s] and bring about more war. 2. There is a paradigm shift going on in the minds of Americans and others on Islam and its threat.3. The church seems to be following it in step with all the talking points of the liberals. 4. The differences are shrinking between the liberals in politics and the liberal movement that is growing in the church.

Christian leaders across denominational lines responded to the unprecedented open letter signed last month by 138 representative Muslim leaders with their own letter, calling on the two Abrahamic faiths to love God and neighbors together.  Over 100 theologians, ministry leaders, and prominent pastors have thus far signed the response letter issued by the Yale Center for Faith and Culture. Signers include Jim Wallis, president of Sojourners; Rick Warren, founder and senior pastor of Saddleback Church; John Stott, rector emeritus of All Souls Church in London; and Leith Anderson, president of the National Association of Evangelicals.

(115) Influential Evangelicals Withdraw from Christian-Muslim Statement by Lillian Kwon, Christian Post Reporter, 2/9/08
The Christian-endorsed statement – which included such signatories as Rick Warren of Saddleback Church, Billy Hybels of Willow Creek Community Church, and Leith Anderson of the National Association of Evangelicals – urged for interfaith dialogue that would build relations and reshape the Christian and Islam communities. Christian leaders also asked for forgiveness of sins committed against Muslims in the Crusades and excesses of the war on terrors in the letter.

(118) The Next Wave Of The Spirit by Roger Oakland, Understanding The Times, 5/15/08
Catch the wave - that’s a common expression to hear these days in charismatic circles. Over the years there have been several waves – the Latter Rain wave, the Toronto Blessing wave, the Pensacola wave. The claim is the Holy Spirit comes in waves and that a tsunami is coming that will sweep the world. What about this idea?

(119) Heartlines Review by Salvador Ung Hayworth, 6/06
A new project has been undertaken in South Africa. It is an initiative, which will use television, radio and print media to tell stories in order to get the nation of South Africa talking and thinking about values. The campaign is called ‘Heartlines’ and starts on 16 th July 2006. It will run for eight weeks and each week will show a film that highlights one of the eight values that it seeks to deal with. The eight values are ‘second chances, responsibility, forgiveness, perseverance, self-control, accepting difference, compassion and honesty’. This project is seeking to promote a conversation, based on these values, in order to bring out a transformation in South African society. Hence Heartlines is a ‘Values-Driven Transformation’. So what has this got to do with the Christian Church? Well as a matter of fact there are people who are stating that this is a Christian movement to ‘further the kingdom of God’.

(120) Update On The Heartlines Project - 4th June 2008 by Salvador Ung Hayworth, 6/08
In July 2006, the first phase of the campaign was launched. This included two main initiatives: a national broadcast of eight HEARTLINES films or dramas, with supporting print and below-the-line media components and the start of social mobilisation of faith-based organisations, during which FBOs were given relevant tools to teach values and were encouraged to undertake discussion-based activities.” Since doing the review of the Heartlines website and of the Values Booklet I thought that though not many people would give heed to the warning concerning the project, that at least it would die down and become another fad. What I did not know is that that stint was just phase one in Heartlines agenda.

(121) Are Evangelical Pulpits About To Praise Islam? by Jan Markell, 8/4/08
Following a four-day conference last week at Yale University, Christian and Muslim leaders from around the world announced the first step of the “Common Word” exchange drafted last November.  A joint statement was affirmed in their support of religious freedom and further interfaith dialogue based on their common love for God and neighbor. But something is very wrong with this picture. Over 140 conference participants unanimously approved a cooperative statement that signaled a “new beginning of collaboration between Christians and Muslims” where stronger assertions of faith would be required. So the statement began by affirming the “unity and absoluteness of God” and God’s merciful love as central to both religions.

(125) Further Thoughts on the Manhattan Declaration and a Response to Frank Beckwith by James White, 11/25/09

(126) The Manhattan Declaration a response by Alistair Begg, 11/23/09
In accord with others who have chosen not to sign, my reservation is not with the issues themselves, or in standing with others who share the same concerns, but it is in signing a declaration along with a group of leading churchmen, when I happen to believe that the teaching of some of their churches is in effect a denial of the biblical gospel. I wonder whether it might not have been more advantageous for evangelicals to unite on this matter, rather than seeking cooperation with segments from Rome, Eastern Orthodoxy and the Latter Day Saints.  The necessary co-belligerence, as far as I’m concerned, can never be rooted in a Gospel other than that which has been given to us.

(127) Our Regretful Inability To Become A Signatory - The Manhattan Declaration by Jacob Prasch on behalf of Moriel Ministries, 12/02/09
We again emphasize that we are not opposed to Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, or Mormon people personally and we share in the convictions contained in this declaration. While sanctioning the contents, however, we can never become signatory to anything published under the demonic auspices of ecumenical deception.

(128) Unity, Diversity and Division that Glorifies God by Claude T. Stauffer, Calvary Chapel of Hope, 12/3/09
There is a unity that glorifies God. There is a diversity that glorifies God. There is a division that glorifies God. God is clear on what unity, diversity and division is acceptable to Him and brings glory to Him. The Bible reveals that in the Last Days there will be a one world religion. This religion of unity is referred to as Mystery Babylon and has its roots at the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11). This false religious system will ultimately be brought down by God (cf. Revelation 17). The unity of Mystery Babylon is not glorifying to God but opposes God with all deception and rebellion against Him and His word. This false unity is on the rise today. That is a unity true Christians do not want to be a part of. Having a Biblical God ordained understanding of how unity, diversity and division relate to one another is critical to glorifying God by both what we participate in and what we separate from.

(130) The Manhattan Declaration: Another Dominionist Covenant by Herescope, 12/4/09
Whenever you see a broad ecumenical coalition gathering together to sign some sort of agreement, statement, covenant, declaration, manifesto, or whatever name they call it, be on the lookout for Dominionism. The agreement, statement, covenant, declaration, manifesto, etc. may sound all well and good. It probably represents any number of worthy causes, ideologies and agendas. And this is precisely how people are hooked in to signing on. After all, how could you be AGAINST saving unborn babies, good marriages, and morality?

(131) Manhattan Declaration: “Perhaps Millions” Being Led Toward the New Age/New Spirituality by Lighthouse Trails, 12/4/09
Given the fact that a large number of the main 149 signatories have directly or indirectly promoted advocates of the New Age/New Spirituality (i.e., contemplative/emerging), it is not difficult to see that (even with good intentions) the Manhattan Declaration may provide an appealing and subtle avenue into the New Spirituality  for a vast number of signers, many of whom might not otherwise have had exposure to it given the conservative tendencies of most of the signers.

(132) Evangelicals and Catholics Together and the Rejection of End-Time, Bible-Believing Christians by Roger Oakland, 12/7/09
If you haven’t already noticed, anti-Christian sentiment is growing toward those who believe in a biblical last days/Book of Revelation scenario prior to Christ’s return. A 2005 article titled “Lutheran leader calls for an ecumenical council to address growing biblical fundamentalism” should help convince you. The article shows not only this growing resentment towards Bible-believing Christians but also the interspiritual path this change in attitude is taking.

(133) Manhattan Declaration by Mike Gendron, Proclaiming The Gospel Ministries, 12/12/09
Whereas it is good to unite as co-belligerents with a united voice to fight moral and political issues, any accord that attempts to overlook, dismiss, nullify or compromise the Gospel is antithetical to the command for all Christians to earnestly contend for the faith.

(134) The Manhattan Declaration: Aiding the Counter Reformation? by Chris Pinto, Adullam Films, 12/13/09
Understanding the information we put forth in A Lamp in the Dark could not be more relevant to the Church today, especially as it pertains to the Counter Reformation.  The devil’s latest deceptive ploy is called The Manhattan Declaration – so named because of an ecumenical group that met in Manhattan in 2009.

(135) The Manhattan Declaration by Gary Gilley, Think On These Things, February/March 2010 - Volume 16, Issue 1
Instead of drawing moral/political lines in the sand, courageously and even defiantly declaring that we will retreat no further, maybe this would be an excellent opportunity to evaluate whether we have already retreated concerning the gospel.  That ground may have been given because of ecumenical expediency, pluralistic pressures, biblical illiteracy or faith in statements such as The Manhattan Declaration which minimize the uniqueness and narrowness of the gospel message in an attempt to change society.  Rather than giving ground maybe this would be a good time to take a fresh look at the gospel.  Maybe we should define it more carefully, guard it more tenaciously, proclaim it more boldly, and believe in its power more profoundly.  For, after all, Paul tells us it is the power of God unto salvation.  And, after all, it is what Christ has commissioned us to do.

(136) Christians, Muslims, Jews Worship at Evangelical Megachurch by Lillian Kwon, Christian Post, 2/3/10
It was an unusual Sunday morning worship at Northwood Church in Keller, Texas. Christians, Muslims and Jews sat together in the megachurch to hear an evangelical pastor preach about Jesus. As Northwood Senior Pastor Bob Roberts said Sunday, the three groups are making an attempt to get to know one another, understand the different teachings and worldviews, and become friends.

Tony Blair is preparing to launch a "faith offensive" across the United States over the next year, after building up relationships with a network of influential religious leaders and faith organisations.

(140) Edinburgh 2010 by Gary Gilley, Think On These Things, April/May 2010 - Volume 16, Issue 2
Recently all branches of Christendom have placed on par the so-called Cultural Mandate with the Great Commission.  The Cultural Mandate carries the implication that as caretakers of the earth, mankind, including Christians, has been authorized by God to solve the socio-political problems facing the world.  With this presupposition the evangelical church is increasingly seeing the gospel as two-pronged – proclaim the good news of redemption in Christ and the good news that working together we can solve the injustices prevalent all over the globe.  Without denial of our role as stewards of God’s creation, the Cultural Mandate (once referred to as the Social Gospel) confuses the mission given to us by Christ and dilutes the resources to do what only the church has been called to do – tell people how they can be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ.

Points to Ponder About Christian Interfaith Involvement:  1) The interfaith approach is rationally directionless. If all religions are equally valid or hold some common level of spiritual authenticity, as the interfaith movement asserts, then all religions are ultimately baseless. Therefore, the nonbeliever can logically reject Christianity as a meaningless sect among many meaningless faiths. For by acknowledging another religion as a vehicle that proclaims the revelation of God, even tentatively, the exclusive nature of God as revealed in the Bible (Isaiah 45:18-22; John 14:6-7) can no longer be viewed as exclusively true. The door has now been opened to consider any other spiritual claim as legitimate; and to not accept these other claims would demonstrate an intolerant exclusivity. Either Jesus Christ is who He claimed to be, the great I AM – the only true God – or He’s only one way among many and His claim is false. It’s an all or nothing position (see Joshua 24:14-24). 2) The interfaith position muddies the Christian mission of bringing the good news of Jesus Christ as God incarnate come to redeem sinful humanity. Inter-religious bridge building bolsters the idea (continued on page 17)

(143) World Council of Churches to Host Muslim-Christian Dialogue comment by Roger Oakland, Understanding The Times, 8/13/10
The road towards a One World Religion is being constructed at an incredible rate. While the Word Council of Churches is one of the leaders in the construction process, there are many other contributors as well. For example, Pastor Rick Warren has publicly stated that he has no problem in working together with Muslims, as long as there is a common goal to work together for the cause of good. We are living in perilous times!

(144) Evangelical Leaders Embrace Syncretism
Date: October 08, 2010
Host: Brannon Howse
Guest: Ingrid Schlueter
Listen: RealAudio | Windows Media | MP3 | Order Tape or CD
Brannon begins by telling people that one of his greatest concerns is the rise of false teachings in America. He points out that as Christians we are called to expose such teachings and to destroy every argument raised up against the principles of Christ. With that in mind, Brannon described six characteristics of a false teacher:
--They will look and sound like Christians.
--They will produce fruit and doctrine that is anti-Christ.
--They love titles.
--They deny the deity of Jesus Christ.
--They have a form of godliness yet deny God, the gospel, and salvation through Christ alone.
--They proclaim a false Jesus and a false gospel.
Brannon shows how these characteristics are causing some evangelical leaders to be open to a syncretism/pluralism that has them attempting to seek common spiritual ground with those of Mormon, Islamic, and other unbiblical faith systems.
Ingrid Schlueter draws an important conclusion by saying that although doctrinal distinctions won’t go away completely, there’s an obvious worldwide effort afoot to build a common “spiritual well” that everyone can draw from.

(145) “Half-Baked” Christianity - A Meditation Upon Hosea 7:8 by Pastor Larry DeBruyn, 10/19/10
In a previous generation, a churchman observed of the church's relationship to the surrounding culture of that era and said: "I looked for the church and found it in the world. I looked for the world and found it in the church." In the history of American Christianity there perhaps has never been a time when the criticism uttered by that Englishman against the church of his day is not also an apt indictment of Christianity in our culture today.

(146) Church Hosts Global Faith Forum For World's Religions by Paul Proctor, News With Views, November 17, 2010
The Christian Post reported recently that NorthWood Church in Keller, Texas, scheduled a Global Faith Forum for Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists and atheists in hopes they would “listen to one another and even build friendships.” The report stated, “the forum isn't a gathering of theologians to debate religions,” but instead, an “opportunity for people of multiple faiths to get to know one another, start conversations, and learn from each other.”

(148) Dali Lama Sends His Monks To Methodist Emory University For Training In Science by Associated Press, 1/3/2011
ATLANTA - Some of the newest students at Emory University in Atlanta -- home to a Methodist seminary and school of theology -- are Tibetan monks sent by the Dalai Lama to learn science. Wearing the traditional crimson robes and closely shorn heads, the six men -- most in their 30s -- are taking physics, biology, and chemistry classes with hopes of returning to Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in India to teach science to other monks and nuns.

(149) The Rise Of Chrislam? by Ken Silva, 2/23/11
As an example of how CSM leads to syncretism consider Doug Pagitt Excited About Interfaith Powwows At Solomon’s Porch and Samir Selmanovic Defends Worshipping With Witches; it’s deeper into mainstream evangelicalism than you may even know as evidenced by The Daniel Plan of Purpose Driven Pope Rick Warren because The Daniel Plan Of Rick Warren Encourages Unbiblical Meditation. But could this lead to a blending of Christianity and Islam i.e. Chrislam?

(150) Rick Warren and Saddleback Unveil Tony Blair Peace Program by Ingrid Schluter, Crosstalk Blog, 3/3/11
Rick Warren believes the world can have peace without the Prince of Peace. He is awarding Tony Blair, a pro-abortion, Roman Catholic convert with a peace prize in a few days at Saddleback Church. Click here for Warren’s details. As we see Dr. John Piper’s open embrace of Warren at his Desiring God conferences, one of which will be held at Warren’s church in April, we are reminded of the emergence of a new spirituality that is without the cross of Jesus Christ (just ask Tony Blair about his plan to unite world religions), of “peace” without the author of peace, Jesus Christ, and of an apostate evangelicalism that has now linked arms with the United Nations to push Agenda 21 goals.

(151) National Association of Evangelicals seeks common ground with Mormonism by Ken Silva, 3/11/11
Notice carefully that God the Holy Spirit doesn’t say anything about the Apostle Paul looking for common ground on issues where they could work together. Instead, God tells the Christian that we shouldn’t be aligned with unbelieving pagan idolators, which is precisely what the Bible teaches they are:

(152) Unveiling the Global Interfaith Agenda by Carl Teichrib, Chief Editor, Crossroad, 3/15/11
Religious pluralism isn’t a new concept, but it has made tremendous inroads during the past ten years. This development hasn’t been confined to churches only, but now tracks through international politics, economics, and major social structures. In past issues of Forcing Change various aspects of this movement have been expounded on, including environmental links. However, the following article, which is divided into two parts, offers a unique window into the growing clout of the interfaith agenda and its deeper meaning. Increasingly, this socio-religious pluralism will find its way into more local programs and actions, including community functions, civic politics, and economic “justice” agendas. All of this will impact churches, from local congregations to national boards, and will become increasingly visible in secular fields such as public education and the workplace. Already this is happening. As mentioned, this article is comprised of two parts: the front section, “An Inside Look,” details my observations while attending a 2001 interfaith event in St. Petersburg, Florida. A special emphasis is placed on what to watch for regarding the impact of the inter-religious agenda at the more local and discernable level. The second part of this article is a review of the 2004 Barcelona Parliament of the World’s Religions. While I didn’t attend this event, the information and intelligence that came out of this gathering gives us an interesting “big picture” sweep of the global interfaith program, including its linkages to issues of economic governance.

(153) Muslim Worship in Christian Churches by Crosstalk, 4/12/11
Dr. Alex McFarland is a renowned expert in Christian apologetics (one who explains and rationally defends faith). He is the author of many books including the devotional book series for teens: Stand: Seeking the Way of God; Stand: Unleashing the Wisdom of God and Stand: Diving Into God’s Words. Dr. McFarland served as the president of Southern Evangelical Seminary in North Carolina, and has spent over two decades training teens and adults in biblical worldview reasoning, much of that time working with Focus on the Family. Last September, Heartsong Church in Cordova, Tennessee, let members from the Memphis Islamic Center hold Ramadan prayers. Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Alexandria, Virginia, allows the Islamic Circle of North America to hold regular Friday prayers at their facility while a new mosque is being built. While respect and tolerance are certainly biblical virtues, are the two churches mentioned above examples that cross a line leading into unbiblical affirmation and endorsement? Can we share a platform with those of other beliefs as long as we aren’t doing it in the sense that we believe that all beliefs are valid? From discussion of youth groups and sanctuaries to reverence for worship, our slipping standards in these areas all point to why many in Christianity are tolerating heretical speakers and philosophies in their churches today.

(154) Chrislam - the bottom of the slide by Mike Oppenheimer, 6/20/11
The converging of two diametrically opposed religions.

(155) Jerry Boykin and the Calvary Chapel Connection by Roger Oakland, Understanding The Times, 6/21/11
Understand The Times has  discovered that Calvary Chapel has been, and still does, promote a high officer in the Vatican’s Jesuitical, “Knights of Malta”. Jerry Boykin, former commander of the United States Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center Special Forces Psychological Operations, is that man. The Order of Malta is a religious order of the Vatican. Jerry Boykin holds the title of Grand Chancellor with the Vatican’s Jesuitical, “Knights of Malta”.

(156) What would Jesus think? Churches now promote Islam - Spiritual treason' seen as 'something hostile to Jesus Christ himself' by Michael Carl, WND, 6/24/11
Dozens of Christian churches, from Park Hill Congregational in Denver to Hillview United Methodist in Boise, Idaho, and First United Lutheran in San Francisco to St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church in Honolulu, are planning to send "a message both here at home and to the Arab and Muslim world about our respect for Islam" with a time to read the Quran during worship this Sunday. It's not just wrong, but dangerous, according to Christian trends analysts.

(157) Interfaith Alliance and Islam by Matt Slick, CARM, 6/25/11
On Sunday, June 26th, the Interfaith Alliance group is promoting a "Faith Shared" event where the Quran will be read in Christian Churches.

(158) The Interfaith Alliance” and Islam, followup by Matt Slick, CARM, 6/27/11
An organization called “The Interfaith Alliance” promoted a “Faith Shared” project where churches across the U.S. would do things like have a Muslim Imam read the Quran in the Christian Pulpit.

(159) Green Bay Catholic Priest David Ricken leads Mass at Lifefest Before Joint Worship with Greg Laurie by Lighthouse Trails, 7/12/11
LTRP Note: Today, a pastor sent Lighthouse Trails the link to the following news article. In view of our article on 7/11/11,  “The Jesuit Agenda and the Evangelical/Protestant Church,” we post this news item. Bishop David Ricken who led Mass at Lifefest is on the Bishops Advisory Council at Creighton University, a Jesuit school. OSHKOSH — Bishop David Ricken always wanted to go to Lifest. But since taking over as head of the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay in 2008, something else always came up. [Bishop] Ricken led 9 a.m. Mass from the Thrivent Café Stage on the final day of the 13th annual Lifest celebration at Sunnyview Expo Center. Hundreds worshipped as intermittent showers trickled down on the large tent. Protestant devotions, a children’s service and the Catholic Mass each were held separately before joint worship at 11 a.m. on the grandstand featuring Lenz; Greg Laurie, senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, Calif., and head of the international Harvest Crusades.

(160) Bishop Ricken, Marian Apparitions and the Connection with Greg Laurie by Understanding The Times, 7/15/11
Since Greg Laurie shared the platform in Oskosh, Wisconsin at the Lifest Celebration with Roman Catholic Bishop Ricken, another news item now places Laurie and Ricken in the headlines. This time it is the fascination with Marian apparitions that Ricken supports and has been promoting. It is well known that Jesuits are behind the devotion to “Our Lady of Peace” also called the "Queen of Heaven." This will be an important part of developing a One World Religion for Peace that will usher in the Antichrist. The questions that need to be asked are these: Why would Greg Laurie endorse Roman Catholic Jesuit Bishop Ricker by sharing the platform with him at the Lifest gathering? Is Laurie aware of the damage he has done to Calvary Chapel by doing this or is this just part of the game plan? While this is only speculation, one could also ask, why does Laurie link hands with Rick Warren who has linked hands with the Pope of Rome through Tony Blair for the P.E.A.C.E. Plan? Would someone (for example) Chuck Smith or Brian Brodersen please stand up and explain what is happening to the Calvary Chapel movement?

(161) In Progress: The Building of the New World Religion by Heidi Swander, July 18, 2011
"The New Age is upon us and we are witnessing the birth pangs of the new culture and the new civilization. This is now in progress. That which is old and undesirable must go . . . The spirit has gone out of the old faiths and the true spiritual light is transferring itself into a new form which will manifest on Earth eventually as the New World Religion." So said occultist Alice Bailey (1880-1949) while under the influence of her spirit guide, Djwal Khul. As I wrote in an article last March, Bailey and her demonic counterpart actually laid the foundation for the New World Order. The New World Religion piece of that coming global order is advancing successfully on at least three fronts:

(162) The Vatican, Jerry Boykin, David Barton, and more Jesuit agendas by William Saunders, Real Time Fellowship, 7/30/11
Report on the ecumenical, interfaith, Dominionist agenda of the Knights of Malta and Jerry Boykin.

(163) Is the God of Chrstianity and the God of Islam the same? by Matt Slick, CARM, 8/3/11
No, the God of Christianity and the God of Islam are not the same. First of all, the God of Christianity is a Trinity where the God of Islam is not. The Trinity is the monotheistic teaching that God exists eternally as three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. In Islam, this is blatantly denied.

(164) Chuck Smith - Calvary Chapel - Knights of Malta - Vatican connection by First Plumbline Apologetics, 8/6/11
Sorry to break this to you, but Chuck Smith is going to far, recently Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa is promoting and highly esteeming the The Grand Magisterial Chancery for the Knights of Malta - Jerry Boykin. Jerry Boykin is a returning visitor to Calvary Chapel.  YouTube video.

(165) Chrislam – Another New Kind of Interspiritual “Christianity” by Mike Oppenheimer, Let Us Reason Ministries, 8/13/11
While Terry Jones wanted to burn the Qur’an there are pastors that want to read the Qur’an in church to their congregations. In response to a local Qur’an burning, Larry Reimer, a minister of the United Church of Gainesville, decided to read Scripture from the Qur’an as part of worship services on September 12, 2010, prodded further about religious relatives. “Christianity, Judaism, and Islam are all part of the Abrahamic tree of faith. We all believe in the same God, and in many aspects we are all trying to accomplish the same goals.”

(166) Land buys a big Tri-Faith leap (Christians, Jews & Muslims) by Christopher Burbach, Omaha World Herald, 12/15/11
Omaha Jewish, Muslim and Christian organizations have purchased land for neighboring houses of worship, and at least one, Temple Israel, plans to begin construction in the spring of 2012, leaders of the Tri-Faith Initiative said Tuesday. Construction also is expected to begin next year on a planned fourth building, called a Tri-Faith Center, with social, educational and conference facilities that all the groups could use.

(167) James Robison: The Lord wants Protestants and Catholics to unite as one by Sue, Suze Blog, 12/19/11
James Robinson sounds like the new spokesperson for Catholicism on his TV broadcast show Life Today. Robinson praised Fox News Contributor Fr. Jonathon Morris, claiming the Lord was upon him and we should listen to him.

(168) Keep Thy Heart with All Diligence by David Dombrowski, 12/21/11
A growing and subtle tactic that is actually producing more “bridges” is to invite speakers of differing values, perspectives, and doctrines to the same conference and thereby make the speaker of compromised or apostate teachings appear more credible.

(169) Countering the Counter Reformation in the Midst of Evangelical Christianity by Roger Oakland, 1/10/12
In June of 2005, Paul Smith recommended that Another Jesus: The Eucharistic Christ and the New Evangelization be given out to the Calvary pastors at the annual senior pastors conference at Murrieta. As UTT did with New Wine and the Babylonian Vine, the books were donated through Calvary Distribution and handed out. In the back of the book is a commentary called “Passion Evangelism” that exposes Mel Gibson’s plan to win the world to the Eucharistic Christ. By many accounts, the conference was deemed to be a watershed. A panel discussion one afternoon about Calvary basics ended up in a free-for-all. Greg Laurie led the way with Bob Coy in stand-up comedy. Things got serious when Greg Laurie chastised pastors for not participating in Harvest Crusades just because of his desire to be linked with Purpose Driven globalist pastor, Rick Warren. The only pastor who seemed to be in favor of studying the Bible instead of someone’s book was Mike Macintosh.

(170) Wheaton College “Dialogue” Evening – Exploring “Common Ground” with Catholicism in “A Conversation on Unity” by Lighthouse Trails, 1/31/12

(171) Global Ecumenism: The High Road to Trampling Truth Underfoot by Chris Lawson, Spiritual Research Network, 2/13/12
In summary, the heavily coalescing global ecumenical movement is a counterfeit Christianity. It is rapidly blending with Liberal churches and an entire generation of pagans and churchgoers that have been born and steeped in societies rife with “politically correct” thinking and New Age Christ Consciousness Interfaith teachings. In the name of the ecumenical Jesus which cannot save from sin and hell, people around the world are embracing this movement as a movement of love, tolerance and unity. To many it is a movement where the Divine, the Silence, the Divine Mystery, mystical Ecstasy, Samadhi, Enlightenment and much more can all be experienced and where “archaic dogma” such as the Bible is downplayed and cast out. [33] Even things as extreme as consciousness altering contemplative (occult) meditation are taking place in churches that at one time used to effectively teach the Bible. The end result in all of this is a mystical system that utterly rejects Jesus Christ as the only way to God, or morphs Him into something He is clearly not. It is a system that is accepting of anyone and everyone that says that Mary is “Co-Redemptrix,” that “Eucharistic Adoration” is true worship [34] and that “mystically” all paths can lead to God!

(172) Sharing Speaking Platforms: Compromises and Consequences - When Leaders Wrongly Share Speaking Platforms with Ecumenists and Teachers of False Doctrine by Chris Lawson, Spiritual Research Network, 2/21/12
Many years ago Pastor Chuck Smith’s long-time associate, Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa’s Associate Pastor, L.E. Romaine, once told me personally”Don’t complain about it unless you first try to do something about it.” Pastor Romaine was exhorting us (pastors) not to complain about anything, unless we seek first to aright the situation, no matter what it is. Obviously, the Bible says we are not to grumble and complain, and Romaine knew that too. Romaine was simply communicating to us that we ought to deal with issues and not make messes in the church; theological, or otherwise. The following material is not meant to be a complaint, but an introduction as to why Calvary Chapel is not standing against Ecumenical compromises. I am not complaining, I am telling the truth.

More than Gold (MTG) was formed in VANCOUVER Canada in 2004, as a means to use the Olympics as a platform for promoting Church Unity, with the added Roman Catholic agenda to eventually bring people directly under Papal subjection.

(174) Rick Warren builds bridge to Muslims by Carlos Delgado, OC Register, 2/27/12
The Rev. Rick Warren, pastor of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest and one of America's most influential Christian leaders, has embarked on an effort to heal divisions between evangelical Christians and Muslims by partnering with Southern California mosques and proposing a set of theological principles that includes acknowledging that Christians and Muslims worship the same God.

(175) Concerning Ecumenism? The people speak! - Open Letter To David Sedaca And LCJE, 2/27/12
Ecumenism is not a side issue. It is a matter of utmost importance that we resist the tide. Below are some of the people who have signed the petition to call Lausanne Consultation for Jewish Evangelism to renounce their ecumenism and to guarantee their abstinence from any ecumenical partnerships. They are all from different churches and ministries but that are all united in this belief that Ecumenism is a danger to the body of Christ.

(176) Rick Warren's "Bridge to Islam" - Joseph Farah challenges megapastor over latest friendship overture by Joseph Farah, 2/29/12
Here is the key to illustrating his error: Do Muslims even claim to worship the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, as Christians and Jews do? No, they do not. They believe God did not create a covenant with Isaac and Jacob, but rather with Abraham’s firstborn son Ishmael. They believe the Jewish and Christian Bibles are misrepresentations of truth. They believe the Quran accurately and faithfully represents the true personality and will of God.

(177) Calvary Chapel Pastors and CCOF Ministry Reject Warnings About Ecumenical Jerry Boykin by Chris Lawson, Spiritul Research Network, 3/1/12
Letter to Roger Wing (CCOF Ministry).  This material is being presented here because I have spent hundreds of hours researching, writing, and in correspondence with many people from Calvary Chapel fellowships who are tired of the numerous big-name Calvary Chapel pastors who are compromising Scripture for the sake of ecumenical relations. I have no personal issues with Jerry Boykin, nor am I on a diatribe against fellow pastors. I am however extremely concerned about the continued Calvary Chapel slide into popular Christianity and the ecumenism that many have been grievously observing for years now. It is clear to many that next to nothing is being done about it and as a pastor I refuse to be a bystander while the flock of God is being ravaged from within.

(178) Apprising Ministries Exclusive On Rick Warren, Jim Hinch and Islam by Ken Silva, 3/5/12
Apprising Ministries has long been a leading critic of the semi-pelagian (at best) doctrine of Southern Baptist megachurch pastor Rick Warren. In articles like Rick Warren And Teachings Of Demons I’ve also clearly documented his sinful ecumenicism as well. Of course that’s merely one of the fruits festering within apostatizing evangelicalism because of its foolish fascination with corrupt Contemplative Spirituality/Mysticism.

(179) Rick Warren, Islam, and the Real Issue by Eric Barger, 3/7/12
Warren can deny the word "Chrislam" all he wants. He can line up surrogates to speak for him day and night. But until he recants the Yale document and clearly defines that Islam's prophet, Isa, isn't Jesus Christ and that Islam's false god, Allah, isn't Jehovah, lots of us are going to speak louder and louder. No matter how you slice it, to confuse Islam's deity with God Almighty is a denial of the one true and living God and His only Son.

(180) Does Rick Warren Believe Christians & Muslims Pray to "Same God?" by Understanding The Times, 3/9/12
Rick Warren denied the contents of a February 23 Orange County Register article that said Warren's church and Muslims worship the "same God." However, documents recently released by Jim Hinch to Ken Silva of Apprising Ministries show how Hinch came to his conclusion in his story "Rick Warren Builds Bridge to Muslims." The OC Register reporter shared a part of the King's Way document that was agreed upon by local Muslims and Warren's church. This document shows how Hinch came to his conclusions.

(181) Rick Warren Doublespeak by Understanding The Times, 3/9/12
Rick Warren is an expert at saying one thing one time and then making public statements saying that he did not say what he said. On March 25, 2011 Rick Warren spoke at Saddleback along with Tony Blair and they explained their coming idea for a PEACE Plan that could unite all religions. Warren is a master at double-speak.

(182) Rick Warren Says No Kingsway Document And No Saddleback "Staff" Involved by Ken Silva, 3/12/12
To get to the bottom of this, someone needs to sit Rick Warren down and make him define the words he’s using.

(183) Looking to the Past to Unravel Confusion About Rick Warren, Islam, and Warren’s All-Inclusive “Second Reformation” by Lighthouse Trails, 3/14/12
A recent Orange County Register news story titled “Rick Warren builds bridge to Muslims”  has caught the attention of many people including several online news sources. The story resulted in a rebuttal by Rick Warren, denying the allegations the article made. For those who are trying to figure out what Rick Warren’s true beliefs are regarding Muslims and Christians uniting, we think the best way to unravel the confusion is to take a look at the past.

(184) More On The Kings Way Presentation At Saddleback Church by Ken Silva, 3/16/12
Apprising Minsitries continues our coverage of what’s becoming Kings Way-gate. Unfortunately, leading Southern Baptist pastor Rick Warren seems to be sounding more like SBC politician Bill Clinton than a Christian pastor.

Updated! (185) Rick Warren once again caught up in controversy by Marsha West, Renew America, 3/21/12
Rick Warren has been pushing interfaith dialogue for years. So it's no surprise that he's attempting to build a bridge between Christians and Muslims. There's nothing wrong with doing that as long as the primary purpose is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Mark 16:15-16 However, Jim Hinch stated that he was told by Pastor Tom Holladay "King's Way was an effort to build bridges of friendship and cooperation, not an attempt to evangelize." (Online source) Rick Warren once said, "I see absolutely zero reason in separating my fellowship from anybody." In his ecumenical outreach, Southern Baptist Pastor Rick Warren has associated with the apostate Roman Catholic Church, the United Nations, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the Tony Blair Faith Foundation. These last two organizations have as primary goals setting up a global government and bringing all religions of the world together, respectively. Pastor Warren awarded the former Prime Minister of Britton, who is a recent convert to Catholicism, the annual International Medal of PEACE.  Read Part 1 & Part 2.

(187) “Chrislam” - Do Christians and Muslims Worship the Same God? by Pastor Larry DeBruyn, Gurading His Flock Ministries, 3/31/12
Some Christians naively and mistakenly equate that because Christianity and Islam are monotheistic faiths (belief in one God), Christians and Muslims worship the same God, the synthesis of the two religions being labeled, “Chrislam.”[1] Mega church leader Rick Warren calls the reconciliation King’s Way.[2] To advocates for the synthesis, any differences between the two religions are viewed as superficial. Differences can be overcome by an ecumenical appeal to the “nobler side” of the different religion’s devotees. After all, only the names for God differ.  Muslims call Him Allah, while Christians address Him as Lord. The singleness of God is thought of as an ecumenical rallying point, a basis for mutual understanding, if not some kind of unity, between the religions.

(188) When Love Divorces Doctrine and Unity Rejects Truth - A Response to End-Time Ecumenism by Dr. John C. Whitcomb, Whitcomb Ministries, Inc., 7/24/12
It is evident that leading neo-evangelicals believe that our main goal is to eliminate doctrinal distinctives and to emphasize unity among those claiming to be believers.

(189) A Rising World Religion - Neo-paganism, Neo-satanism, Neo-christianity.... What's the difference? - Not much! But the consequence of rejecting Truth will be tyranny and persecution! by Berit Kjos, 8/10/12
Don't forget: As the post-Christian nations of the West turn from God's Truth and ways to popular alternatives as did ancient Israel, He may well raise up powerful enemies -- today's version of Babylon -- that will conquer and oppress our nation.

(190) Surprising List of Speakers at “Rediscovering God in America” Conference Draws Strong Concerns by Roger Oakland, 8/11/12
As I pen these words, a conference is taking place this weekend that is further indication of the spiritual deception and the blurring of lines happening in the church today. Some call this deception in the church a conspiracy. In our view, the deception should be called outright heresy and part of the Great Apostasy (2 Thessalonians 2:3). Will anyone wake up and smell the smoke? Apparently, no one is willing to say a word. Where is the discernment? Where are the pastors who should be warning?

(191) The Evangelical Ecumenical Apostasy of the Present Day (YouTube video) by Richard Bennett, The Berean Beacon, 4/10/13
At the present time, an appalling Evangelical Ecumenical Apostasy has happened. What is at stake is the very righteousness of Christ Jesus the Lord in His perfect, finished work that is proclaimed in the Gospel. In fact, many well-known Evangelicals in their endeavors to attract people have concealed the Gospel of grace. The video that you are about to see gives the names of those who embrace this horrendous apostasy. We ask that you make this video known to your church. The hour has come for biblical separation from those who have perverted the very Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. In face of all this abounding deception, how do we live and reign daily with Christ Jesus? The Apostle Paul gives us the answer, “For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:20-21). (193) When All Religions Become One by Mike Oppenheimer, at The Berean Call, 6/21/13
It's been stated that there are only two religious systems in the world, though there are thousands of religions. The most popular system is that man makes his own way to God and does various works to please Him, to be accepted by Him (or her, or it). The other way, the true way -- that God came from heaven, became man, did the work for mankind that no other man could do, and man needs to accept it and live by it.

(198) An Evaluation of Muslim Dreams & Visions of Isa (Jesus) by Dennis McBride, 10/19/13 - Read Part 1 & Part 2
Conclusion: If Muslims were having dreams about Jesus, which resulted in opening their hearts to the gospel, I’d say, “Praise the Lord”, because I believe the Holy Spirit can use natural dreams to convict people of their need for salvation and direct them to the gospel if He so chooses. However, the reports I’m hearing and reading claim that Jesus Himself, in the person of Isa, is appearing to Muslims in dreams. I must reject the accuracy of those claims for all the reasons outlined above, and conclude that such dreams and visions lack biblical authority and must therefore be viewed as extra-biblical experiences generated from sources other than the Holy Spirit. I must also continue to pray that the gospel of Jesus Christ, not dreams and visions of Isa, will permeate Muslim communities throughout the world for the glory of our Lord and the salvation of many precious souls.

(199) Toward Big Hearted Ecumenism: Pope Francis Speaks to Lutheran Leaders and Shows Us the Way by Deacon Keith Fournier, Catholic Online, 11/5/13
Pope Francis met with members of the Lutheran-Catholic Commission on Unity. Like his predecessors, John Paul II and Benedict XVI, Francis is a Pope of Christian unity. Francis said: "We must try to bring about unity. Today, I spent 40 minutes with an evangelical pastor. And we prayed together, seeking unity." Timothy George, the dean of Beeson Divinity School wrote a piece entitled, Our Francis, Too: Why we can enthusiastically join arms with the Catholic leader. He wrote: "Catholics and evangelicals are the two largest faith communities in the body of Christ. Without forgetting the deep differences that divide us, now as never before we are called to stand and work together for the cause of Christ in a broken world!" Mike Gendron of Prclaiming The Gospel comments: Biblical unity is a sovereign work of the Holy Spirit, not man. This unity occurs with the Holy Spirit baptizes believers, who share a common faith in the Gospel, into the Body of Christ (1 Cor. 12:13; John 1:12-13). False unity is a work of man's prideful ambitions and can only be accomplished by suppressing or rejecting doctrinal truth (Genesis 11:1-9).

(202) Christlam: Merging Christianity with Islam by Laurie Roth, News With Views, 2/14/14
There is zero relationship at all with Islam, Muhammad and Allah, and Christianity, Jesus Christ and Jehovah. It is blaspheming Christ and the Holy Bible to dare even talk about combining the two faiths with Any ‘poser’ pastor, including big dog Rick Warren and any other who dares include Islam as part of the Christian family is false, evil and from the pit of hell...

(203) Hope 2014 by First Plumbline, 3/9/13
Since 2008, Hope Together has been working effortlessly in making sure that many of the evangelical churches are given over to the RCC, with little or no resistance from Pastors and leaders, we encourage you do not let your particular church group fall victim and pray to the ecumenical movement through Hope Together, in our experiance we have seen first hand through Hope Together is caperble of using decietful means, with regaurds to Roman Catholosism history shown the results of what the Vatican is capable of even to the point of covering up its past crimes and covertly giving misleading information even by keeping its atrocities secret, and this had been recently proven by the media and Victims on the following subjects, Trafficking and abduction of babies in Australia, UK, Spain and Argentina, the sexual abuse of children and even in its history of both the Spanish Inquisition and the Medieval Inquisition, Historical documents on the victimes of the Catholic Inquisitions and in recent history during WWII such as Jasenovac in Croatia and in Balkan history we know the Vatican cannot be trusted, in the UK much of the information on Romes history today is forgotten until recently but many evangelicals are simply not learning from its past.

(205) Christians Are Being Duped Into Believing the “One God” Doctrine of Chrislam by Christine Pasciuti, 4/19/14

(207) The Islamizing Of America’s Churches - How Some Pastors Are Selling Out The Faith by Al Dagar, Media Spotlight, 6/17/14
As  for  true  give-and-take  in  these  “dialogues,”  would  any Muslim  imam  invite  Christians  into  his  mosque  to  say  that Mohammed is not a true prophet of God? Or to say that he was a false prophet, or that Islam is a satanic religion? Would anyone ever be able to say anything negative about any aspect of Islam, no matter how small? Never. These Christian leaders who kowtow to Islam are not even good enough to be called hirelings as described by Jesus, who run when they see the wolves coming to feed on the flock. They open the gates and invite the wolves in, then stand there smiling while the flock is being devoured. Then they tell the wolves to come back at a later date; they’ll have more lambs for them to eat.

(208) Pope Francis Orders Vatican To Create First Ever Art Exhibition To Promote Chrislam by NTEB News Desk, 6/26/14
Pope Francis can best be described as a man on a mission. That mission seems to be the unification of the Vatican’s Roman Catholic system with Islam. This demonic hybrid is what is more commonly known as Chrislam. Francis is building on the already impressive body of work in this field started by apostate Emergent Church preacher Rick Warren. German website DW reports that for the first time ever, the Vatican is staging an unusual exhibition in the Emirate of Shajah. The show is seen as a sign of openness and cooperation between religions.

(284) Rick Warren's Ecumenical Path to Rome Continues by Roger Oakland, 6/29/14

(286) An Evaluation of Muslim Dreams & Visions of Isa (Jesus) by Dennis McBride, 7/9/14
My Goal: The goal of this paper is to evaluate the reported phenomenon of Jesus (Isa) appearing to some Muslims in dreams and visions, and to discern if such reports fit the pattern of Scripture as determined through conservative grammatical/historical principles of interpretation (hermeneutics). My Concerns: I first became aware of the Muslin dreams phenomenon through a Christian brother who spoke with great excitement about a special moving of the Lord within Muslim communities. I wanted to share his excitement because I knew something of the difficulties of Muslim evangelism, and the great joy missionaries experience over even one Muslim coming to faith in Christ. However, over the course of our conversations my questions and concerns started to mount. In short, I questioned if it was really Jesus appearing to these people, and if so, why? What special circumstances at this point in redemptive history would necessitate Him personally intervening, when He said it would be the Holy Spirit’s role to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment through the preaching of the gospel by human preachers (John 16:8; Rom. 10:14-15; 1 Cor. 1:21)? I had no desire to resist or even question what God might be doing, but I feared these dreams of Isa might be little more than extra-biblical psychological or spiritual encounters that could supplant God’s Word and potentially lead their participants away from biblical authority rather than into it. And I was greatly concerned to hear the supposedly biblical rationale some of my fellow conservative Bible teachers were offering in defense of this movement. Some former defenders of the centrality and sufficiency of God’s Word in evangelism seemed suddenly to be sacrificing that doctrine on the altar of subjective mystical encounters. I needed to understand why, and to evaluate their rationale by God’s Word. I also needed to examine Isa’s communication to determine if it was consistent with Christ’s communication while He was on earth.  Read Part 1 & Part 2.

(287) Pope Francis Meets Evangelical Delegation at The Berean Call, 7/11/14
[TBC: Rome has consistently stated it has never changed. Consequently, only the “evangelicals” have compromised their position. In the hope of sharing “love” to a “hurting world,” we must first of all share the biblical gospel—something denied by Catholicism with its gospel of works.]

(288) Evangelical Church Takes Another Big Step Toward Rome—This Time? Franklin Graham  by Lighthouse Trails, 8/27/14
Editor’s Note: As we continue on with our coverage regarding evangelical leaders and their ecumenical moves toward Roman Catholicism, we once again wish to state that we bear no animosity toward individual Catholics, but we are compelled to challenge these leaders on their compromise of the Christian faith according to Scripture.

(289) “Stage Managed” Ecumenism by Orrell Steinkamp, The Plumbline, Volume 19, No. 4, July/August 2014
Unbelievable and largely unseen ecumenical coalitions and ad hoc alliances are forming. These alliances are being forged by a small cadre of seeker-driven mega church celebrity pastors/authors. These vision-casting celebrities are in effect acting as power brokers in forming ecumenical coalitions. As with all coalitions these players are attempting to gain something for themselves and their “ministries” and the expanding of their personal reputations. They are willing to exchange their platforms and pulpits with other celebrities of like class and clout. These platform exchanges often cross boundaries into false and even heretical territory. Consequently, these celebrities become an endorsement of false teaching to the masses of low information evangelicals who are fans of these various Christian celebrities. The opportunity for these maneuvers is that classical evangelicalism as a theologically descriptive word is becoming near meaningless. Gregory Thornbury, now president of Kings College states: “the evangelicalism I signed up for is gone forever....In fact many leading theologians today see evangelicalism as a relic of a by gone era.” (Thornbury, Recovering Classic Evangelicalism, Crossway, 2013, pp. 223)   The vacuum created by the disappearance of classical evangelicalism, unfortunately has been filled by TV ministries, bookstores, stadiums rallies, mega churches and extended mega church campuses and their media promotions.

(290) The Catholic Church’s Role in the Coming One-World Global Religion by Roger Oakland, 9/7/14
I am not certain when I first realized that the Roman Catholic Church, particularly the Jesuits, were the root force behind the coming one-world religion. If I were pressed to come up with an original time, it would be difficult. Coming to this realization was more of a process for me. The Bible foretells the coming of the Harlot. G.S. McLean always instilled in me that the harlot was apostate Christianity. This I still believe is the proper definition.

(294) Rick Warren at the Vatican Humanum Conference: "We All Love Jesus Christ" by Do Not Be Surprised, 11/21/14
Rick Warren spoke on the "Biblical Meaning of Marriage" Tuesday at the Vatican, where he is among 30 global religious leaders examining the changing roles of marriage and family in the world. Warren joined leaders from 23 countries and 14 religions invited by Pope Francis on at the kickoff Monday to The Complementarity of Man and Woman: An International Colloquium. “It’s great to be with leaders from different streams of Christianity from all over the world,” Warren said from the Vatican on Monday.  “Although we have some differences, we all love Jesus Christ and we all want marriages and families to be healthy and strong.” Upon meeting Pope Francis, Warren said: “Up close, you can feel the humility and compassion that others see from afar.”

(295) Muslims Chant to Remove Jesus at Washington’s National Cathedral by Roger Oakland, 11/24/14
It looked like a chilling scene from a Last Days, anti-Christ-takes-over-the-world disaster movie. Hundreds of Muslims take over America’s most notable church, prostrate on their prayer rugs as their unified chant echoes out in full volume: “There is only one god, he begets not and I bear witness that Muhammad is His only servant and Apostle." Only this was not a movie. This was the scene, last Friday, for the first time in history, at the iconic National Cathedral in Washington, where orthodox Muslim clerics were invited to lead an Islamic prayer service. A congregation of hundreds were lead by an Imam in declaring that “god has no son, that Jesus Christ cannot be his son, and that there is no god like Allah.” Only a single middle-age woman jumped up in the middle of the service and shouted, “America was founded on Christian principles. .?.?. Leave our church alone!” She was escorted quickly out of the church by security guards.

(296) Will Rick Warren Play a Role In Persuading Some Calvary Chapel Pastors To Follow His Lead Towards Ecumenical Evangelicalism? by Understand the Times, 12/5/14
On November 17-19, 2014, an interreligious conference was hosted at the Vatican to discuss the sanctity of marriage under the definition that marriage is a relationship between a man and a woman. Beside numerous representatives of the Roman Catholic Church, the conference was attended and addressed by members of the Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, Jewish, and Mormon faiths. Also, well-known Christian evangelical leaders from the United States—Pastor Rick Warren and Russel Moore—played a major role and were in attendance.

(297) ‘Pope Francis’ Bows Head in ‘Silent Adoration’ Beside Islamic Grand Mufti in Turkey’s Blue Mosque by Heather Clark, 12/6/14
ISTANBUL, Turkey – In a move that drew some concerns from onlookers worldwide, the Roman Catholic pontiff known as Francis visited Turkey’s Blue Mosque on Saturday, expressing reverence during a moment of prayer observed by the nation’s grand mufti, who led him on a tour of the Islamic facility. According to reports, Francis took off his shoes, folded his hands and bowed his head, standing silently next to Rahmi Yaran, who serves as the nation’s highest Islamic leader as grand mufti. The two faced Mecca as Yaran prayed with his palms raised.

(298) City Calls on Allah, Zeus, Satan by Bob Unruh, 12/12/14
He prayed: "Mother Earth, we gather today in your redeeming and glorious presence to invoke your eternal guidance in the universe, the original creator of all things. May the efforts of this council blend the righteousness of Allah with the all knowing wisdom of Satan. May Zeus, the great god of justice, grant us strength tonight. Jesus might forgive our shortcomings while Buddha enlightens us through his divine affection. We praise you Krishna for the sanguine sacrifice that freed us all. After all, if almighty Thor is with us, who can ever be against us? And finally for the bounty of logic, reason and science, we simply thank the atheists, agnostics, humanists, who now account for one in five Americans and growing rapidly. In closing. Let us above all, love one another, not to obtain mythical rewards for ourselves now, hereafter or based on superstitious threats of eternal damnation, but rather embrace secular-based principles of morality, and do good for goodness sake. And so we pray, so what?"

(299) Rick Warren on Roman Catholicism: "We have more in common than what divides us" at The Berean Call, 12/17/14
Warren, whose Purpose Driven Life and Purpose Driven Church books have sold millions of copies around the world, recorded a video interview for the Catholic News Service in which he said: "We have far more in common than what divides us." He continued: "When you talk about Pentecostals, charismatics, evangelicals, fundamentalists, Catholics, Methodists, Baptists, Presbyterians ... Well, they would all say we believe in the trinity, we believe in the Bible, we believe in the resurrection, we believe salvation is through Jesus Christ. These are the big issues.  (ACT Commentary: I'm sorry to say this but Warren has proven himself, yet again, to be one of the biggest ignoramuses in Christianity.  Trinity? They have basically added Mary to the Godhead.  The Bible? They believe that the Scriptures and Tradition are equal in authority.  Salvation? They do not believe that salvation is by grace alone, and the pope has indicated that all major religions worship the same God.  How then is Catholicism ANYTHING like Biblical Christianity?)

Jack Van Impe

(1) Van Impe Accused Of Bias by MKG, Personal Freedom Outreach, 1997
"During the past few years, Van Impe and his ministry have become widely ecumenical and has openly patronized Roman Catholicism. Van Impe has said, “I have read the entire new catechism, 2800 points. And I know what they believe and we misrepresent them so often. I was one of those bigots who used to do it. And the Spirit spoke to me.”

(3) Jack Van Impe - Master Of Memory; Minister Of Compromise by Dr. Ken Johnson, 1995

"Without a doubt there is no Biblical reason to hold hands with the likes of those (such as the Roman Catholic Church) who deny the Word of God and the way of salvation through Christ. This video is closed with Rexella Van Impe saying, "Unity among believers comes from our union with Christ. Let us love one another if we love Him."31 Unity of believers is based on doctrine that is taught in the Word of God; II John 9-11 and many other verses declare this simple plain thrust of the Scriptures."

New Sandy Simpson Messages
on CD & DVD

Karma (by any other name)
by Sandy Simpson

This DVD is a message based on this article.

According to Wikipedia:

"Karma means action, work or deed; it also refers to the principle of causality where intent and actions of an individual influence the future of that individual.  Good intent and good deed contribute to good karma and future happiness, while bad intent and bad deed contribute to bad karma and future suffering.  Karma is closely associated with the idea of rebirth in some schools of Asian religions.  In these schools, karma in the present affects one's future in the current life, as well as the nature and quality of future lives - or, one's samsara. With origins in ancient India, it is a key concept in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism, Taoism, Shintoism, Ching Hai and others."(emphasis mine)

Mirram-Webster defines it this way:

the force created by a person's actions that is believed in Hinduism and Buddhism to determine what that person's next life will be like: the force created by a person's actions that some people believe causes good or bad things to happen to that person

Given the definitions of "karma" above, this same idea, usually without the reincarnation aspect in Christian circles, has been taught for decades in New Thought movements such as the Positive Thinking/Positive Confession teachings of Norman Vincent Peale & Robert Schuller, the Word of Faith ideas of Essex Kenyan, Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland and Benny Hinn, the mixture of Eastern Mysticism and Christianity by Korean false teachers such as the "force of faith" Paul Yongii Cho, and newer renditions and fusions by people like Joel Osteen, Joseph Prince, T.D. Jakes (recently agreeing with Oprah Winfrey who teaches karma on her WHO network), and others such as Ernest Angley, John Bevere, Markus Bishop, Juanita Bynum, Morris Cerullo, Kim Clement, Paul Crouch, Creflo Dollar, Jesse Duplantis, Marilyn Hickey, Brian Houston, Rodney Howard-Browne, Larry Huch, Bishop Eddie L. Long, Clarence McClendon, Joyce Meyer, Myles Munroe, Steve Munsey, Mike Murdock, Rod Parsley, Peter Popoff, Fred Price, Oral Roberts, R.W. Shambach, Robert Schuller, Karl Strader, Robert Tilton, Paula White, Ed Young and many others.

His Name, The Only Name
by Sandy Simpson

This DVD is a message based on this article.

Zechariah 14:9 NIV The LORD will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one LORD, and his name the only name.

The reason I wrote this article based on Zech 14:9 is that I was reminded of how many so-called Christians, who are influential in the churches, are promoting the worship of God in the names of other gods.
