Articles on Ecumenism and interfaith "unity".
(1) The "Evangelicals and Catholics Together" Document
"A formal declaration boldly documents the Evangelical and Catholic commitment to work together to evangelize and bring about social reform in the world. The Evangelicals and Catholics Together: The Christian Mission in the Third Millennium has, in effect, laid the groundwork for Evangelicals to set aside their distinctive doctrines and unite with the Catholic Church and other religions which are coming together by 2000 A.D."  Also read the article "The Evangelical Seduction" by T.A. McMahon.

(3) Billy Graham Interview With Robert Schuller by Joseph R. Chambers, D.D., 1998
This unfortunate interview was conducted by Rev. Robert Schuller in 1997.  For a copy of the video tape this interview came from,  call Robert Schuller Today at 1-800-9POWER9, and order the $20 video tape of the May 31, 1997 (Program #1426) Hour of Power TV broadcast message titled, "Say 'Yes' To Possibility Thinking."  Please note that the corresponding $5 audio tape DOES NOT contain the interview with Billy Graham - i.e., you really have to cough up the $20 if you want to see this evidence that one of the men God has used to bring countless millions to salvation has now given in to the spirit of the age, the spirit of false unity called Ecumenism and Inter-Faith.  We must pray for people like Billy Graham, whom God has used in the past to preach the message of the gospel, but is now old and is apparently being misled by people who are wolves in sheep's clothing.  We do not agree with Graham's stance on ecumenism nor do we endorse his practice of sending new believers back to apostate churches.  For more evidence that Billy Graham is either losing his critical faculties or is just plain deceived, read Billy Graham's Disobedience To The Word Of God. For his ecumenical view of RCC, read Billy Graham & His Bible.  For other quotes from crusades and articles, read Billy Graham - The Facts.

(4) Luis Palau by Biblical Discernment Ministries, 1998
Like some other well known evangelists, pastors and teachers, Luis Palau has been slipping further and further into ecumenicalism -- unity for unity's sake.  How could this happen to a man whom God has used to preach the gospel to millions of people?  This article details that slide and is a vivid reminder that just because a Christian with the gift of evangelism is famous does not mean Christians should stand for unsound doctrine that is preached or practiced by that person.  It takes more to preach the gospel than to simply declare a formula on how to be saved.  It looks to us as though Palau is watering down the gospel message; making overtures to a number of apostate churches, sending people back to them after they allegedly make a decision to follow Christ; and joining organizations with doctrinal stands that are against Scripture.  Luis Palau is perhaps one of the greatest communicators of our age.  Although this article tends to nitpick at some issues that are secondary, in our opinion, it does highlight the fact that Christians need to be very discerning about advising non-believers to go to a crusade where new believers are sent back to apostate churches such as the Roman Catholic Church or Third Wave churches that have been spawned from such movements as the Toronto "Blessing" or Brownsville A/G to be discipled with unbiblical doctrines and practices.

(5) Schuller Meets With Cho And Pope by The Calvary Contender, 1998
Things are really gearing up for the Jubilee 2000 celebration around the world.  All the "biggies" will apparently be there to "ride the beast".

(6) Ecumenism - Where Do You Draw The Line? by Sandy Simpson, 1998
"This is a short essay to illustrate just how unbiblical, subjective and relativistic Ecumenism really is.  Ecumenism starts innocently enough. Is begins with a tolerant perspective of other denominations.  Then it moves on to cults.  Finally it ends in an acceptance of other religions, evolving into what is called "Inter-Faith".

(7) Let No One Deceive You With Ecumenical Evangelism by Mike Gendron, 1998
"As we approach the new millennium, we are witnessing the greatest push toward ecumenical unity the world has ever seen. Under the banner of AD 2000 all professing Christians are urged to join hands to fulfill the Great Commission before the year 2000. This pronounced urgency for ecumenical evangelism is an attempt to provide Jesus a wonderful 2000th birthday present when He returns. The movement  has easily captured the fancy of many Christians.  However, the proposal for all Christians to forget their differences and unite for the purpose of evangelizing the world, completely ignores the fact that Roman Catholic, Orthodox and many Protestant churches preach a false gospel that denies the sufficiency of Jesus Christ and His finished work of redemption. A key to the success of this effort to unite has been a commitment to "tolerate one another's beliefs and just love Jesus." Overlooked in their zeal is the fact that if they all loved the same "Jesus" they would not tolerate a compromised gospel."

(8) Promise Keepers
We can no longer support Promise Keepers because of many problems with doctrines that are taught, the background, teachings and guiding force behind the movement (Vineyard, Latter Rain, Joel's Army), their compromised doctrinal statement, and especially their ecumenical goals.  Here is an article that has many quotes from leaders of this organization providing ample proof that they are ecumenical and aberrant, if not heretical in doctrine.  This long article details a lot of what has been taught by Promise Keepers.

(9) Promise Keepers Changes Doctrinal Statement To Appease Catholics by David W. Cloud, 1997
"When Promise Keepers first published its brief statement of faith, it did not include the phrase "by faith alone." It was added because of the outcry of those who protested that the absence of this phrase leaves room for false gospels which mix grace and works, faith and sacraments. You see, false gospelers do not deny that salvation is by faith and by grace. What they deny is that it is by grace ALONE through faith ALONE without works and sacraments of any sort. Now we see that Promise Keepers has again modified its statement to remove "by faith alone" to please the Catholic leaders with whom they are fellowshipping. Promise Keepers vice president, Paul Edwards, tells us that PK's doctrinal statement is "dynamic" and "open to change." This is typical of those with an ecumenical agenda. They claim that sound doctrine is precious to them, but in practice they are incredibly flexible and nonchalant about the most foundational of doctrines."

(10) Promise Keepers Woos Catholics by Jim Kirksey, Denver Post Staff Writer, 1998
"Bill McCartney and his Promise Keepers were embraced by the Denver Catholic Archdiocese ... at a gathering of more than 250 men, and a handful of women, at the John Paul II Center in south Denver. "

(11) Who Is God by Luis Palau, 1997
Here is a "Luis Palau Responds" article that seems odd to us.  See if you agree with this sentence taken from the article: "The bottom line is you can be any religion you want to be, as long as what you believe about God corresponds to reality."  Is this really true?  How can a person find Jesus Christ as a Buddhist, as Palau indicates?  How can a person find salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone in the Roman Catholic church?  How can a person be of ANY religion other than true Christianity, even Judaism, and not acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the Messiah?  How does Luis Palau think God views worshipping Him while continuing to worship other gods?  No other "religions" own God at all.  No religion does.  But only Judaism and Christianity worship YHWH.  Other religions worship demons.  God has revealed Himself to this age through His Only Son, Jesus Christ who is made evident through the body of Christ, the Christian church.  You cannot exclude the body of Christ or the Scriptures from the process of coming to the full knowledge of God.  It is impossible.  These statements by Luis Palau indicate just how far he has slid into ecumencalism and interfaith compromise. (12) Pacific Revival Center - Wolves Among The Flock by Deception In The Church, 1998
"There is a church that is trying desperately to ingratiate itself with the rest of the body of Christ on Guam.  This article is a warning that they are hiding behind the fact that they "went out from us" long ago (1 Jn. 2:19).  The church is affiliated with the UPCI (United Pentecostal Church International).  It has recently changed its name to Pacific Revival Center.  They have managed to get their church prominently displayed in the Pacific Daily News in the Lifestyle section, have advertised "miracle" and "revival" meetings at which unseemly pleas for money were made, and have started a semi-regular "Worship & Praise" event that they are inviting all churches on Guam to participate in."

(13) The Dangers Of The Alpha Course by Deception In The Church, 1998
"The Alpha Course, though teaching some truth, also lays truth alongside error.  The wooing of people using the gospel message, only to later enslave them in ritualism, works salvation, and occult manifestations is one of the great deceptions of our time.  One of the cleverest ploys of the enemy in our day is to allow "unprincipled" men to use the salvation message as an enticement to unsuspecting and untrained people, while they secretly introduce false doctrine, thereby giving "the devil a foothold" for fleshly manifestations and temptations in their lives.  The men who designed this course are laying error alongside truth, introducing error secretly ("pareisaxousinin" in Greek) the result of which will ruin the faith of the believer in the end.  The Bible says of this process: "But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them--bringing swift destruction on themselves." (2 Pet. 2:1) Beware of the Alpha Course!" (14) Assemblies Of God & World Council Of Churches Together by Ecumenical News International, 1998
A recent Ecumenical News report mentioned that a World Council of Churches "continuation committee" included a "respected Pentecostal representative" from the Assemblies of God and a representative from the Roman Catholic Church. (9/21/98) The committee's objective is to form a global ecumenical forum.

(16) Rick Joyner, Paul Cain, Knights Of Malta, And Saddam Hussein by Paw Creek Ministries, 1998
"Something breathtaking is happening among key Charismatics (Third Wavers) like Rick Joyner and Paul Cain.  Rick Joyner recently announced that he was knighted by the Knights Of Malta.  Apparently, Paul Cain had already been knighted or was knighted at the same time." For a follow-up on this story, check this out!

(17) Pope John Paul II Receives The Mark of "Aarti", A Prayer To The Hindu Goddess Durga
This is a photo of the pope receiving the mark of a prayer "aarti" to the Hindu female goddess Durga by a professing Christian Hindu woman.  By the time this photo was taken, however, the pope had already been involved in a number of pagan rituals on his trip to India in 1986, including taking the mark of Shiva.  Here is the documented quote: "Still at Madras on February 5, 1986, 'A sugarcane, fashioned into the form of a cross, signifying a Hindu offering to a carnal god, was brought into the presence of the Pope. A little later, during the offertory procession, a coconut was carried to the altar, a typical Hindu offering, which they offer to their idols. Finally, a man placed sacred ashes on his forehead. IT WAS NOT A MATTER OF TILAC BUT OF SACRED ASHES OR VIBHUTI. (*164) THREE DAYS EARLIER, ON FEBRUARY 2, HE HAD RECEIVED ON HIS FOREHEAD THE TILAC OR TIKA, THE RED POWDERY PASTE OF THE HINDUS, THE SIGN OF THE ADORERS OF SHIVA. (*165) *164 ‘Msgr.’ Lefebvre, op. cit. p.177. *165 La Croix of February 6, and 'I' Express' of February 7/13, 1986, with photo."  The Catholic objections to this photo, and their deceptive tactics to try to hide what the pope did on the web, have unearthed even further evidence of the interfaith dabbling with demons by the papacy.

(18) Some Scandalous Photographs of John Paul II
More photos of compromising situations where the Pope is seen in a display of interfaith "unity" with those outside of what would be considered "Christian" circles.  But, as you can clearly see, we are not talking about a Christian organization when we talk about the Vatican.  We are talking about an apostate cultic version of "Christianity" that is trying desperately to position itself to ride the coming U.N. global government.

(19) Preach That Gospel, John Paul II!
Here's a lesson on how to win friends and influence people.  Don't preach that Jesus Christ is the only Way, Truth and Life but entice people with the concept of a female deity!  I'm sure this went over well with the Hindus in attendance from Bombay.  What better way to use every opportunity we have to witness for Christ!  This article was taken directly from the official Vatican site at vatican.va and is an official documentation of a "General Audience" with the Pope.

(20) Evangelical Leaders Participate In Papal Mass by David Cloud, 1998
"Pat Robertson and Bill Bright participated in a papal mass in New York's Central Park during John Paul II's October visit to the United States. According to the Religious News Service, Pat Robertson marched at the head of an ecumenical procession (which included Bright) to the papal altar and was seated with Protestant, Orthodox and other Christian leaders. Robertson is the Charismatic head of the 700 Club and Bright is the head of Campus Crusade for Christ."

(21) The Significance Of Filled Stadiums by Ed Tarkowski, 1996
"What makes this unity dangerous is this: (a) Doctrinal differences are being set aside in order to tear down denominational walls for the sake of demonstrating what is being called biblical unity.  (b) This is the door through which Latter Rain "manifestations" of "glory" enter! "

(22) Paul Cain/Rick Joyner - Preparing For The New World Order by Paw Creek Ministries, 1999

(23) Latter Rain And Promise Keepers by John Yonge, 1999
"After joining the Kansas City crew, Cain prophesied that stadiums the world over will be filled with Christians enroute to building the "army" and taking the world for Christ. And wouldn't you know it that shortly afterwards, the leader of Promise Keepers, Bill McCartney, who is a Latter Rainist from the Vineyard church in Boulder, Colorado, started filling stadiums with Christian men from all denominations."

(24) The Alpha Course - Final Answer Or Fatal Attraction? by G. Richard Fisher, 1999
"When the April 27, 1998, edition of Christianity Today magazine ran a full-page advertisement promoting a new line of resources by the respected Christian publisher, David C. Cook Communications, how could one doubt the trustworthiness of such materials? If along with that, they were endorsed in that same promotion by J.I. Packer, Alister McGrath, Luis Palau and Leighton Ford, how could one hesitate even for a moment — how could one resist? Surely this is a bandwagon worthy of a ride. The Alpha program sounds like a great idea. After all, with such heavyweights backing it and a program to facilitate an introduction to the Christian faith (with weekend retreats and group discussions) it has to be good — or does it? If nothing else, one must admit that Alpha is packaged impressively for maximum sales. Popularity does not mean that something is true. If it did, Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny would be real entities. Popularity does not automatically equal truth nor can it create truth."

(27) The "Evangelical Celebration" Document by Rev. Jerry Moser, 1999
"It must be questioned by serious Bible believers whether drafting yet another document is the biblical way to address compromise in presenting the Gospel--since following the biblical method is as essential as the Gospel itself. The Apostle Paul’s method in defending the Gospel is like that of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. It is to lay a charge against those who teach false doctrine, and in so doing to glorify the Father. After the Apostle pronounces the judgment of God on those who continued in a false gospel, he explained his guideline for doing so, "For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ." (Galatians 1:10)  Four of the endorsers of ECT II were involved in the actual drafting of this present document. They are J. I. Packer, Timothy George, Thomas Oden, and John Woodbridge. Leading Evangelicals together with these four men have drafted and published EC. It is of the utmost importance to ask if these four signatories to ECT II--men who now have been included as drafters of EC--have repented both privately and publicly of what they had previously signed? If so, to whom was the statement made and where may their public repentance statement be found? Have they formally responded to the resolution passed at the 1999 Ex-Catholics for Christ (ECFC) conference which called for them to "publicly renounce the ECT accords and ask the church at large for forgiveness for their past participation in these accords?"

(28) Tony Campolo - Interfaith ... Here We Come! by Andy Neckar, CNV News Service, 1999
"On a recent edition of CNN's Crossfire, Tony Campolo refused to say Jesus is the only way to heaven. The panel was discussing events at the Southern Baptist Convention in Atlanta. Campolo would not answer the question directly but said, "The Apostle Paul says that there are people who have light that is not Christian light, and they will be judged on that basis." (32) The Cell Church Model - Alpha Course Lite? by Sandy Simpson, 1999
"The cell group model out of Singapore is Alpha Course Lite!  It is simply another front for the Third Wave, another way to seduce churches, looking for a more personal approach, to be more like the house churches of the first century ... and to subtly introduce heresy.  Remember the M.O. of false teachers: 2 Pet. 2:1  But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them--bringing swift destruction on themselves."

(33) Alpha - The Last Word In Evangelism? by Chris Hand, 1998
"Many people claim to have been helped through going on the Alpha course and believe it has brought them an understanding of God and how to respond to Him.  Testimonies and accounts of wonderful things that have happened to individuals abound.  In the light of all this, surely there cannot be anything wrong with it?  With so many in today's society gripped by materialism and atheism, can Alpha be anything other than a good thing?  As young people become hopelessly enmeshed in a godless culture, should we not applaud the efforts of Alpha and help make it a success? We wished that the answers to these questions could be an emphatic 'Yes'. But closer examination of Alpha prevents such a clean bill of health being given to it.  Why this concern?  There are six vital reasons we would like to bring to your attention."

(35) Houses Built Upon The Sand - A Biblical Examination Of The Lighthouse Movement by Delusion & Apostasy Watch News, 9/25/99
There are a few interesting facts in this series of articles.  First, there is a list of the current participating church denominations and parachurch organizations who have already covenanted with Lighthouse.  Second, we find out that Lighthouse is attempting to sign up and collect personal information into a very large computer database on all its members and churches.  Third, we can see looming behind this veiled attempt at evangelism an agenda leading many into the apostate Third Wave and ultimately to the "woman who rides the beast".  The people behind this organization, such as C. Peter Wagner and Edwardo Silvoso are, on the one hand, at the forefront of promoting and organizing the "New Apostolic Reformation" where they are attempting to build a new foundation for the "church", and on the other attempting to implement this Lighthouse scheme that is supposed to benefit the cause of Christ.  After reading this information it becomes clear what true believers and the true Body of Christ ought to do ... (1) stay out of this organization (2) do not submit your information to this database (3)  remain in your local church in the area the Lord has called you to (4) continue to do the work of preaching the gospel and taking care of the less fortunate without the assistance and materials of programs like these (5) and avoid any association with these people or any events they promote.

(36) The World Christian Movement - Evangelism Vs. Evangelization by Albert James Dager, Media Spotlight, Volume 22 - Number 1 (Summer 1999)
"The Lord's prophecy concerning the greatest end-time deception should warn us that things are not always as they seem. For a deception to be so seductive that even the very elect would take pause to wonder if it is of God, it would have to have all the earmarks of a true work of God. That means it would come in the name of Jesus, it would have a great deal of solid biblical truth, it would affirm the Gospel, and it would be a "good work." And signs and wonders would accompany it. Those who might recognize and expose the deception would be looked upon as divisive, hateful and deceived themselves. For the most part, the churches would go along with the deception."  Read Part 1, Part 2, Part 3.  Part 4 is actually a seperate article on Dominion Theology.

(38) Cell Churches alias Life groups (cells), Cell groups, Neighborhood Groups, Oikos (household), Basic Christian Communities, Shepherd groups etc., by Jo Gardner, Adullam News No. 7, Feb. 97
"Just what we wanted! What a wonderful idea! recognition of house fellowships as churches! But wait! Jesus does say that ‘where two or three come together in my Name, there am I in the midst’  Matthew 8:20. Such a group IS a church in action, perhaps more so than some Sunday services. It has the imprimatur of Christ Himself."

(39) Observations On The Alpha Course by Alan Morrison, Jonathan Bayes and William Horsburgh, 1999
"These days it would appear that if you are bold enough to admit that you do not use the Alpha Course, you are likely to find that people look at you with gaping-mouthed disbelief, as if to ask, "And which planet do you live on?" The present popularity of the Alpha Course means that we need to evaluate whether we might be able to use it, and if we conclude that we ought not, then we need to be able to explain why we do not use it. Such evaluations and explanations have to be theologically based. It is not helpful to others to reject something of which we know nothing simply because of the stable from which it has
emerged. If we do reject it, we need to explain our reasons for doing so soundly but graciously."

"As we dig in the ecumenical walls for 1986 the most striking event we see is the Day of Prayer for World Peace. Never before in Christian history has there been a clearer fulfillment of the New Testament prophecies of the great falling away from the faith and of the formation of the Harlot one-world religion. Indeed, in this now famous peace meeting we see that the hour is very, very late, brethren."  Keep in mind that this is an Independent Baptist perspective.  Be aware that DITC does not agree with everything on this web site!  However, this is a good article on the RCC and Interfaithism.

(49) The Day of Pardon and Papal Penitence Century 21: Biblical Unity or Papal Conformity? by Richard Bennett and Michael de Semlyen, 2000
"On Sunday, March 12, the first Sunday of Lent, the Pope presided over a solemn ceremony called “The Day of Pardon” in St. Peter’s Basilica, Rome, in which he asked God for forgiveness for the historical wrongs of the Roman Catholic Church (RCC). The ceremony was presented as another profoundly significant event in the RC Church’s “Millennium Jubilee Holy Year” and a further step, unprecedented but necessary, in the process of unity. It was a modern media event staged for maximum impact to encourage “unity”. The impression given is that it is a genuine attempt to wipe the slate clean and to apologize for the past wrongs of the Church. Careful examination, however, shows that the Pope’s “Day of Pardon” was in fact not an apology, but rather a day of deception."

(53) Church Unity by Dr. Opal Reddin, 3/00
"Ecumenical pressures will continue to mount, and diverse winds of doctrine will blow fiercely against the Church. Should we succumb to a "fortress" mentality, hiding behind our orthodox doctrines and waiting for the Rapture to set us free from conflict? By no means! Jesus is building His Church, and He invites us to march with Him as we storm the gates of hell, setting captives free, and establishing churches where the rue Gospel is preached in power and glory. (61) Jumping On The Bandwagon - Australian Christian Churches Seduced by the Beat of a Different Drummer? by Hughie Seaborn, 9/00
"I think my title "Jumping on the Bandwagon" is an
appropriate description for the subject I am about to discuss, that of the February 2000 launching of Australian
Christian Churches (hereafter, ACC), the result of an initiative of the National Executive of the Assemblies of God in Australia (hereafter, AOG). The initiative called for an alliance between various Pentecostal and Charismatic
denominations in Australia with Brian Houston, General Superintendent of the Australian AOG, installed as the
inaugural President. The launching of the ACC has been hailed in both secular and Christian press as an enormous success in bringing together a number of independent Christian bodies for the purpose of "making a real difference in the community" and "offering a dynamic spiritual dimension missing from many people's lives." But is the ACC alliance really anything more than just a numbers and money game using secular and new-age
business principles in conjunction with questionable, but popular, and very successful church growth programs?"

(62) Unity: The True And The False? by Dan Corner
"In our day, we hear much about unity. Some of this is good, but most of it is bad."

(63) True Vs. False Unity by David Cloud, Way Of Life Literature, O Timothy magazine, Volume 12, Issue 1, 1994
"The Bible speaks of unity in two different ways. (1) A false unity based upon man's desires and goals independent of God (Gen. 11:1-9). The Bible condemns any proposed unity which is not founded in God's truth. The cry of the hour is unity of the world and unity of religion, but that is the false unity of the Antichrist (Rev. 17-18) and should be resisted by God's people. Ecumenism means the whole world, and it is the spirit of the end times apostasy. (2) A biblical unity based on apostolic truth (Ep. 4:3,13). In this passage we see true biblical unity. It is far removed from the ecumenical philosophy!"

(66) Dominus Iesus:  Rome Exalts Her Throne - A Kiss of Death for the Ecumenists by Richard M. Bennett
"It has been but a short time since Charles Colson, like some modern day Chamberlain alighting from his aircraft, held aloft the ECT and declared, “Peace in our time.”  It has been a mere six years; yet the folly of their deeds, apparent to many before, has now been made apparent to all.  We can only conclude that if the “evangelicals” who signed that notorious document do not denounce the Vatican, then their act was not one of wishful thinking, but willful betrayal.  Rome has dropped her mask; the empty ecumenical charade has ended, and therefore it is time for those who love God’s word to sound the alarm in earnest.  Let us play the man, for our people, and for the cities of our God."

(67) Heaven Open To Everyone, Says Pope by Bruce Johnston in Rome, Electronic Telegraph, ISSUE 2023, Friday 8, December 2000
"THE Pope has amended a Vatican pronouncement that the Roman Catholic Church was the "only way to salvation", saying that Heaven is open to all as long as they are good."

(68) DITC Commentary On The Story: "Heaven Open To Everyone, Says Pope" by Sandy Simpson, 12/00

(69) Alpha Course - In A Nutshell by Neil Richardson, Vanguard Magazine, Volume 6.2, Issue 22, 12/00
"It's been on my mind for some time to try to collate all the sources for information on the Alpha course, and bring together a point-by-point overview of it. This is principally for the reason that Alpha course can be hard to digest, simplify and pass on some of the pieces that have been written about it. Are there, at our fingertips, say, 5 clear reasons why we have reservations about the Alpha course?"

(70) Youth With A Mission Experiments With New, Unscriptural Missions Strategy by Watchman's Trumpet - 2000, Foundation Magazine, Dennis W.Costella, May - Jun 2000
"Several international missions organizations, including Youth With a Mission (YWAM), are testing a new approach to missionary work in areas where Christianity is unwelcome.  A March 24, 2000, Charisma News Service report said some missionaries are now making converts but are allowing them to "hold on to many of their traditional religious beliefs and practices" so as to refrain from offending others within their culture. "

(71) Excerpt From Billy Graham Interview On Larry King Live, January 22, 1997
RealPlay video of a very unfortunate interview by Larry King of Billy Graham.  He made statements such as the following:
Larry King: "What do you think of Mormonism, Catholicism, other faiths within the Christian concept?"
Billy Graham: "Well I think I am in wonderful fellowship with all of them."
Larry King: "You’re comfortable with Salt Lake City. You’re comfortable with the Vatican?"
Billy Graham: "I am very comfortable with the Vatican."
We are still waiting a reply to our letter to Billy Graham but still no repsonse!

(72) Graham Museum Honors First Pope As An Evangelist by David Cloud, 7/01
"...The Billy Graham Museum honors the first Roman pope as a great evangelist. This is in the Rotunda of Witnesses which is at the beginning of the tour. It is a circular room containing nine 20-foot tall banners or tapestries depicting various alleged fathers of evangelism. Museum literature says, "Each banner bears an individual witness selected from Christian history and was chosen on the merit of its revelation of Christ as Lord and Savior." The banners begin with the Apostle Paul and end with Oswald Chambers. Two of the men featured in this evangelistic hall of fame are Gregory the Great and Francis of Assisi. Both of these, of course, are Roman Catholics who preached a false sacramental gospel of faith-works."

(73) Salvation Army And The Roman Catholic Church by Rebecca A. Sexton, 8/01
"We, along with James, pray that the Salvation Army will reconsider its position of support for the doctrines of the Roman Catholic church. Roman Catholicism is a cult parading around as “Christian brothers”. If true Christians do not stand up against the lies of the RCC, then millions of Catholics will perish because we have failed to preach the truth to them, and perhaps millions more will be deceived into believing that truth must give way to unity."

(75) Globalism & Interfaith - Here We Come! by Sandy Simpson, 9/16/01
"As the days wear on in the aftermath of the attack on the World Trade Towers and the Pentagon, we are watching a globalist, interfaith agenda unfold on worldwide television.  I am here to say that if this continues the full wrath of God is bound to come upon our nation and the world!" - This article is also available in The Midnight Herald, November 2001, Volume V, No. 2 - Subscribe here.

"Almost all of the apparitions have stated that Mary is going to usher in a new era of peace and unity. Under her mantle all people will gather in peace and solve the problems facing the world. Her emphasis on unity and ecumenism has garnered attention from the media."

(77) The Papacy And Islam by Richard M. Bennett & Robert J. Nicholson, Posting 55, 2001
"In spite of the catastrophic events of September 11th, the Pope has continued faithfully the Roman Catholic Church policy of affirmation and approval of Islam."

(78) World Religions Peace Summit Planned By Pope by Chuck Missler, Koinania House, November 20, 2001
"Believing we have reached a historic moment for humanity, Pope John Paul is calling the world's religious leaders together to pray for peace and to work to overcome armed conflict."

(79) Bishop Swing Rewrites Christianity And History
To Bring Them In Line With The Globalist Agenda
Of His United Religions Initiative and the United Nations Commentary Report By Lee Penn, THE CHRISTIAN CHALLENGE (Washington, DC), July 12, 2001
"CALIFORNIA EPISCOPAL BISHOP WILLIAM E. SWING, founder of the United Religions Initiative (URI), promoted his interfaith movement to members of the prestigious Commonwealth Club of San Francisco on April 25--with the support of a nationally-known, liberal Roman Catholic university president."

(80) Another Interfaith Papal Prayer Meeting At Assisi by Zenit.Org, 1/23/02
DITC Comments: The pope organized yet another interfaith prayer meeting for world peace.  As with the last Assisi prayer event, almost every religion showed up as well as many Protestants.  But to pray for world peace to pagan gods is ludicrous.  Oh, it's nice to get together with other people for potluck, but to pray?  Who are they praying to?  Does it even matter anymore who God is to these people?  Perhaps he has simply become a fig newton of the imagination of man?  So many religions, cults and sects of Christianity were present.  Catholics, charismatic Catholics, Orthodox, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Shintoists, Confusionists, Zoroastrianists and others all got together with the Anglican Communion; World Lutheran Federation; Alliance of Reformed Churches; Pentecostals; World Baptist Alliance; Friends World Committee for Consultation (Quakers); Salvation Army; and the World Council of Churches.  The only world peace these people are going to accomplish is the short lived peace of the antichrist!

(81) The Exclusiveness Of Christ - Understanding the Present War by David Wilkerson, October 29, 2001
"Satan's ecumenical union of churches will bring about a great persecution. And the union itself will be the chief  persecuting force. Even now, the Russian Orthodox Church is pressuring Russia's government to shut down all evangelical churches in that country. They want to drive out evangelical Christianity completely from their midst. Here in America we see the beginnings of the same kind of pressure. I was handed a videotape of a network TV interview with a well-known evangelist. The interviewer asked the minister point blank: "Will Muslims be saved? And will Jews be saved if they don't believe in Jesus?" Clearly, the evangelist was being pressed into a corner. He knew if he answered with Peter's statement, "There is no other name whereby men can be saved except Jesus Christ, the Son of God," he would have been despised. The press would have crucified him. Instead, the evangelist was applauded for his answer: "Muslims love Jesus. And Jews have the Spirit of Jesus in them. Yes, they'll both be saved." I couldn't believe what I heard this committed Christian leader saying."

(82) Amalgamation of Apostates - Word of Faith, Pentecostal and Charismatic Leaders Unite by Charisma News Service, 6/5/02
"Almost 30 senior figures representing Word of Faith, Charismatic, traditional Pentecostal and Oneness Pentecostals met for three days at a Washington, D.C.-area hotel to talk and pray in an unprecedented move toward unity."

(83) Evangelicals And Pagans Together by Bill Randles, Dicernment Newsletter, September/October 2002
The world loves this kind of spirituality but God hates it. Jehoshaphat, a genuinely godly king of Judah, attempted a "good" thing -- all in the name of unity, of course. This "good" thing was joining forces with the apostate King Ahab in a war against the Syrians. After barely escaping with his life, and that by the mercy of God, Jehoshaphat was confronted by Jehu the prophet with a message that perhaps applies to our leaders in this day: "Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the Lord?" (2 Chron. 19:2)

(84) Dr. Billy Graham's Universalism: Again And Again by Dr. O. Talmadge Spence, Christian Purities Fellowship, February/March 1998, Volume 26, Number 1
I simply believe that those who were genuinely saved under the Billy Graham ministry have now a responsibility
to the world of a judgment that heretofore they may have thought they did not have to make. I had rather for them defend Graham's message instead of myself. But the Billy Graham evangelistic theological ball is now in their own court. I wonder what they will do with it. The world has given too much aura to one man.

(85) A Chink In The Armor by Jacob Prasch, edited for print by Sandy Simpson, Discernment Conference 2001, Calvary Chapel Pearl Harbor, Honolulu, HI, 3/11/01
Jehoshaphat was a good man, a good man who made bad errors.  And right before our eyes there are good men today making that same bad errors.  May God in His mercy correct them and protect us.

(87) Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) by Mike Oppenheimer, Let Us Reason Ministries, 3/03
Is this a Christian television station or a mixture that will bring a unity of Christianity with the world and other religions?

(88) In Bed With TBN by Jackie Alnor, Christian Sentinel Report, May 2003
The Christian Sentinel and many others have written to respectable church leaders who are regular guests on TBN or have their own programs on that network. We have asked them their reasoning for it. Half of our letters over the past couple of decades remain unanswered, but those who did respond -- to a man -- agree that TBN is full of spiritual poison. They defend their position as trying to be light in the darkness. But our argument is that they can’t do that without compromise. One word spoken against the Word/Faith heresies and they will be cut off.

(89) The Papacy And Islam by Richard Bennett and Robert J. Nicholson, 2003
The Pope's profession of a ‘civilization of love’ in his rapprochement with Islam represents only another tactical re-appraisal of circumstances and opportunities for Rome.  It is merely the old idol of humanistic sentiment religiously recycled and held out to the world as the cohesive force that will unite all sincere religious people in a concordat of international condemnation against the kind of anti-social fanaticism that led to the September 11th horror.  The profound danger for Evangelical people is that they,
unthinking, might come to embrace Rome’s claim to be the true spokesman for Christ on this earth, a lie which is deeply embedded in this new thrust for inter-faith ecumenicity.

(90) Ecumenism Fostered By Mysticism by Ed Tarkowski, STAND & COMFORT Newsletter #47 (Vol 3 No 14)
The trend toward mystical exercises and experiences continues to rise, spurred on by interdenominational fellowship within Christianity and fellowship and prayer with non-Christian religions brought about through public tragedies. The meditations and contemplations are basically the same in purpose, though the names they are given vary depending on one's religious affiliation (Christian, Hindu, Buddhism, etc). Is there danger in these like spiritual experiences being practiced across the board?

(91) Fuller Seminary to Create Interfaith Code of Ethics Compiled by Ted Olsen, Christianity Today, 12/08/2003
"One of the nation's leading evangelical Christian seminaries has launched a federally funded project for making peace with Muslims, featuring a proposed code of ethics that rejects offensive statements about each other's faiths, affirms a mutual belief in one God, and pledges not to proselytize," Times religion writer Teresa Watanabe begins her story.

(92) Is This Evangelicalism's Terminal Generation? by Albert Mohler Author, Speaker, President of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, 6/1/2004
The shape of the evangelical challenge in postmodern America comes down to this--we must be continually on the alert to defend the faith, for the Christian faith now faces unprecedented attacks. The rise of a postmodern culture has produced an intellectual context in which the very concept of truth is held under suspicion, and claims to revealed truth are simply ruled out of order.

(93) Open Letter To Ravi Zacharias by Bud Press, Christian Research Service, 11/04
Mouw must be held accountable for his statements. He needs to repent and apologize to those who work tirelessly to promote the real Jesus to the Mormons, as well as other non-Christian cults.

(94) Can Two Walk Together And Not Agree? by Mike Oppenheimer, Let Us Reason Ministries, 3/9/05
Can Christians and Mormons stand together? A dialogue to bring us closer in unity. ... Greg Johnson, director of Standing Together Ministries, located in Utah has teamed up with Mormon representative, Robert Millet, to go on a public tour of what they call, dialogues between an Evangelical and Mormon. Robert Millet and Pastor Greg Johnson are trying to develop relationships between the two “churches” in a new way.

An answer to the efforts of people like Greg Johnson (Standing Together), Richard Mouw (Fuller Theological Seminary), Craig Hazen (Biola University), Ravi Zacharias (RZIM) and many others who are attempting to forge some kind of "Evangelicals And Mormons Together" alliance out of thin air.

(100) WCC, NAE, Buddhists, Muslims and Hindus by Herescope, Discernment Research Group, 5/12/06
It isn't just the neo-evangelical leaders who are finding common ground with other world religions (see this week's Herescope posts). The 9th Assembly of the World Council of Churches, held February 14-23 in Porto Alegre, Brazil is leading the charge. And the NAE isn't far behind!

(101) The Pursuit of Common Ground by Brian Flynn, from Running Against the Wind - the transformation of a new age medium and his warning to the church, 1/19/07
While Thomas Keating’s unwitting goal of a “great awakening” could bring in the needed numbers, if there is going to be such a great awakening based on mysticism rather than the gospel, it is going to be one of great deception.

(103) Will the Real Evangelicals Please Stand Up?
Great Commission or Great Omission? by Sherry Neese, Apostasy Alert, 8/21/07
Pope Benedict’s recent statement removed any shadow of doubt as to the unbreachable chasm that exists between the religious system he represents and the biblical view of salvation. According to the old adage, "Hope springs eternal" one might think that dispelling this myth would bring all ecumenical overtures to Rome to a screeching halt. Not so. A meeting was held August 8-12 in Toulouse, France, jointly hosted by the Vatican and the World Council of Churches for the purpose of coming to a meeting of the minds on a code of conduct for evangelizing.

(104) Bush: All religions pray to 'same God' reported by Roger Oakland, Understanding The Times, 10/7/07
Based on facts provided in the following article, the United States of America is headed for judgment.  President Bush, who professes to be a Christian, does not understand biblical Christianity. He is a player who is dedicated to moving the world towards a one world religion for the cause of peace that is ANTICHRISTIAN.

(105) Can a Christan pray to Allah? by Pastor Chuck Baldwin, Food For Thought, 10/07
Therefore, when President Bush says Muslims and Christians worship the same god, he is saying the Lord Jesus Christ is not superior to the pagan moon god, Allah. Or to turn it around, Bush is saying the pagan moon god, Allah, is equal to the Lord Jesus Christ. And it would appear that Bush would have the same belief regarding the Shinto gods, or any other pagan god, for that matter.

(106) Trading Truth for Solidarity by Berit Kjos, May 2007
It's no secret that the today's world system is driven by a vision of global solidarity and spiritual pluralism. We don't know God's precise schedule, but He warned us long ago to prepare for a time of "falling away," when people with "itching ears" would trade truth for myth and reject the "sound doctrine" needed to guard against deception.  Do those signs describe our times?

(107) “In the name of” Interfaith, liberalism and Multiculturalism- be united” (this issue: Terrorism, Earth news, Lineage of false teachers, the Secret) by Mike Oppenheimer, Let Us Reason Ministries, 10/20/07
What we are witnessing: 1. The world continues to rush toward a major conflict in the Middle East that will lead to a change in government[s] and bring about more war. 2. There is a paradigm shift going on in the minds of Americans and others on Islam and its threat.3. The church seems to be following it in step with all the talking points of the liberals. 4. The differences are shrinking between the liberals in politics and the liberal movement that is growing in the church.

Christian leaders across denominational lines responded to the unprecedented open letter signed last month by 138 representative Muslim leaders with their own letter, calling on the two Abrahamic faiths to love God and neighbors together.  Over 100 theologians, ministry leaders, and prominent pastors have thus far signed the response letter issued by the Yale Center for Faith and Culture. Signers include Jim Wallis, president of Sojourners; Rick Warren, founder and senior pastor of Saddleback Church; John Stott, rector emeritus of All Souls Church in London; and Leith Anderson, president of the National Association of Evangelicals.

(115) Influential Evangelicals Withdraw from Christian-Muslim Statement by Lillian Kwon, Christian Post Reporter, 2/9/08
The Christian-endorsed statement – which included such signatories as Rick Warren of Saddleback Church, Billy Hybels of Willow Creek Community Church, and Leith Anderson of the National Association of Evangelicals – urged for interfaith dialogue that would build relations and reshape the Christian and Islam communities. Christian leaders also asked for forgiveness of sins committed against Muslims in the Crusades and excesses of the war on terrors in the letter.

(118) The Next Wave Of The Spirit by Roger Oakland, Understanding The Times, 5/15/08
Catch the wave - that’s a common expression to hear these days in charismatic circles. Over the years there have been several waves – the Latter Rain wave, the Toronto Blessing wave, the Pensacola wave. The claim is the Holy Spirit comes in waves and that a tsunami is coming that will sweep the world. What about this idea?

(119) Heartlines Review by Salvador Ung Hayworth, 6/06
A new project has been undertaken in South Africa. It is an initiative, which will use television, radio and print media to tell stories in order to get the nation of South Africa talking and thinking about values. The campaign is called ‘Heartlines’ and starts on 16 th July 2006. It will run for eight weeks and each week will show a film that highlights one of the eight values that it seeks to deal with. The eight values are ‘second chances, responsibility, forgiveness, perseverance, self-control, accepting difference, compassion and honesty’. This project is seeking to promote a conversation, based on these values, in order to bring out a transformation in South African society. Hence Heartlines is a ‘Values-Driven Transformation’. So what has this got to do with the Christian Church? Well as a matter of fact there are people who are stating that this is a Christian movement to ‘further the kingdom of God’.

(120) Update On The Heartlines Project - 4th June 2008 by Salvador Ung Hayworth, 6/08
In July 2006, the first phase of the campaign was launched. This included two main initiatives: a national broadcast of eight HEARTLINES films or dramas, with supporting print and below-the-line media components and the start of social mobilisation of faith-based organisations, during which FBOs were given relevant tools to teach values and were encouraged to undertake discussion-based activities.” Since doing the review of the Heartlines website and of the Values Booklet I thought that though not many people would give heed to the warning concerning the project, that at least it would die down and become another fad. What I did not know is that that stint was just phase one in Heartlines agenda.

(121) Are Evangelical Pulpits About To Praise Islam? by Jan Markell, 8/4/08
Following a four-day conference last week at Yale University, Christian and Muslim leaders from around the world announced the first step of the “Common Word” exchange drafted last November.  A joint statement was affirmed in their support of religious freedom and further interfaith dialogue based on their common love for God and neighbor. But something is very wrong with this picture. Over 140 conference participants unanimously approved a cooperative statement that signaled a “new beginning of collaboration between Christians and Muslims” where stronger assertions of faith would be required. So the statement began by affirming the “unity and absoluteness of God” and God’s merciful love as central to both religions.

(1) Van Impe Accused Of Bias by MKG, Personal Freedom Outreach, 1997
"During the past few years, Van Impe and his ministry have become widely ecumenical and has openly patronized Roman Catholicism. Van Impe has said, “I have read the entire new catechism, 2800 points. And I know what they believe and we misrepresent them so often. I was one of those bigots who used to do it. And the Spirit spoke to me.”

(3) Jack Van Impe - Master Of Memory; Minister Of Compromise by Dr. Ken Johnson, 1995
"Without a doubt there is no Biblical reason to hold hands with the likes of those (such as the Roman Catholic Church) who deny the Word of God and the way of salvation through Christ. This video is closed with Rexella Van Impe saying, "Unity among believers comes from our union with Christ. Let us love one another if we love Him."31 Unity of believers is based on doctrine that is taught in the Word of God; II John 9-11 and many other verses declare this simple plain thrust of the Scriptures."
