The vision of the World Council Of Churches for a celebration in 2000 that starts a third millennium where the walls of denominationalism and religion are broken down toward the goal of peace and unity. You will notice that the Roman Catholic Church is also a part of this organization, whose pope has already included all the world's religions in on Jubilee 2000. The charter is an attractive idea with Biblical precedent. Many organizations across a broad spectrum of social, economic and religious have already endorsed this idea. If Jubilee 2000 becomes a reality, it is certain to spark even larger celebrations worldwide than are already planned. The danger is that if one man decides to claim authorship of this plan, make sure it gets implemented, and is successful in creating a new robust world economic state, it would provide a perfect launching platform for the anti-Christ. (16) United Religions Initiative Draws Closer To Global Church  by Bible Prophesy Research, 2000
NOTE FROM DITC:  This initiative is one of the most ill conceived plans for a united world religion so far.  Rather than promote "peace" as it purports it will do, this initiative will inevitably incite violence against any religious system that does not conform to its charter.  Its tolerance level for unity based on "goodwill" is overshadowed by its intolerance for those who are involved in "religiously motivated violence", which means anyone who is perceived to be divisive on the basis of preaching there is only one way to heaven to the exclusion of other religions.  There are only a few groups left who are not buying into this scheme, and so far those groups are Fundamentalist Jews and any Christian who is true to the Word of God (John 14:6).  This type of initiative will cause the very violence it purports to cure because it will incite those who sign on to this charter against those who are seen as old fashioned, bigoted, fundamentalist Christians.  True Bible believing Christians are the only true people left standing in the way of a united world religion.  Do you really think that they will allow us to stand in their way?  This initiative is pure hypocrisy!  I guess it is time to get out our "World Scripture" and follow the ever widening yellow brick road to the land of OZ.

From that point on, Gary and Jim look at a number of specific Middle East concerns including:--The Muslim Brotherhood is filling the political vacuum in Egypt which is causing problems for Christians.--The significant Al Qaeda contingent in Syria dominates the military in some pockets of Syria causing Christians to look for some place to go.--Christians in Beirut are under the gun because Southern Lebanon is under the control of Hezbollah. --Jordan is being destabilized as well with terrorists from Iran and Iraq appearing to be refugees.  They have been organizing protests in an attempt to topple that government as well.--Israel is basically surrounded and they don't feel they can trust President Obama.--The Vatican has had an interest in the Temple Mount area for many years.  They own and control many of the sites there.  Gary believes the Vatican would like to see Jerusalem 'internationalized' and put under some kind of international authority that's close to the Vatican.  In return the Jews would have some type of right to the Temple Mount or possibly be given the opportunity to rebuild the Temple.--and more...

The United States House of Representatives allowed a Muslim imam to give the opening prayer on Thursday morning, in which he praised Allah, the demonic god of Islam, who is the enemy of Christ and America. Imam Hamad Ahmad Chebli of the Islamic Society of New Jersey was invited by Democrat Rep. Rush Holt (NJ).  Chebli praised Allah as, “The most gracious, the most merciful” and then declared “Praise be to Allah, the cherisher, the sustainer of the world; the most gracious, the most merciful master of the day of judgment.” He then went on to declare, “Thee do we worship and thine do we seek. Guide us to the safe path.”

The church-state partnerships touted by candidates Bush and Gore fit the picture. These political alliances are already being established from coast to coast, not by law, but by an army of willing and often well-meaning religious leaders.  Those who share the UN vision of the 21st Century community usually lead the parade. They seek a global village of peace and social equality – unified, not by faith in the Biblical God, but by faith in human nature and a pluralistic god-spirit operating in and through each person.  Christian evangelism doesn’t fit this utopian vision. It offends people of other faiths. It threatens the religious leaders who have built their platform on humanitarian ideals rather than the Bible. And it clashes with the international standards for tolerance and mental health.  This spiritual shift didn’t start in the nineties. Liberal ecclesiastical leaders realized more than fifty years ago that Biblical absolutes, separateness, and evangelism would block their agenda. To clear the way, they built the foundations for today’s worldwide movement that would 

• Equate Biblical truth and evangelism with hate and intolerance 
• Redefine Christianity 
• Hold Christians accountable to global standards for mental health 
• Conform churches to the demands in UNESCO’s Declaration on Religion in a Culture of Peace 
• Build the framework for global control 
• Establish the one world church

(116) “Earth Day” — a Christian Perspective by Stacia Byers, Answers In Genesis, 4/22/15
April 22 marks the [45 th ] celebration of “Earth Day”-an effort initiated to increase awareness about environmental issues. The founder of Earth Day, Gaylord Nelson, believes, “The fate of the living planet is the most important issue facing mankind.” In addition, the Earth Day Network (the coordinating body of Earth Day activities) seeks to promote “a healthy environment and a peaceful, just, sustainable world by spreading environmental awareness …” While it is laudable to see humans exercising their God-ordained responsibility to care for the creation (Genesis:1:26-28 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.) The above quotes show the prevailing view on environmental issues is skewed, as a proper Biblical foundation is lacking. First, the fate of the planet is, ultimately, not in the hands of mankind. While humans are responsible for caring for the Earth (as per the “Dominion mandate” in Genesis:1:26-28 [And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. ), we are not in control of the Earth. Rather it belongs to the Creator Himself (Psalm:24:1 (A Psalm of David.) The earth is the LORD's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. ), who has made us His earthly stewards. Second, the fate of the living planet is not the most important issue facing mankind. Ultimately, this decaying system will be replaced with a New Heavens and Earth anyway ( Romans:8:20-22 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. 2 Peter:3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. , Revelation:21:1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. Hebrews:1:10-12 [10] And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail. ). Rather, the most important issue facing mankind is: will the individual choose to acknowledge his Creator and be reconciled to Him ? Romans:1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: makes it clear that knowledge of God is, at least at some level, evident to all, so those who refuse to acknowledge their Maker are without excuse. For Christians, the most important concern is that of sharing with others the good news about the Creator who came to Earth to redeem His creation from the Curse of sin. Finally, a proper and balanced perspective on caring for the Earth and its inhabitants comes not from merely promoting “environmental awareness” but is only found within the Biblical framework, i.e. recognizing humans were created by a loving God and given the responsibility to rule over, subdue, and care for the rest of the Creation, once “very good,” but now suffering from the curse of sin. We need to beware of the tendency to worship and serve created things, as can happen with some “Earth Day” activities. Instead we should give glory and honor to the Creator and return to the authority of His Word.

Have you ever been in a conversation regarding religious or spiritual matters only to be accused of being narrow minded? What's interesting about this response is that those same people probably wouldn't argue with you that water is composed of two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen. Is God being narrow minded for limiting water's composition in this way? A skilled conductor will not permit his first violin to play off key by even the slightest amount. Is this conductor being narrow minded? What about the auto mechanic who goes to great lengths to make certain engine parts are within thousandths of an inch so that the assembled engine runs reliably. Is that mechanic being narrow minded? In spite of these facts, Christians who hold to the idea of 'grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone' continue to be accused of being narrow minded as others strive for a broad mindedness in order to establish humanistic unity. Joining Jim to discuss this issue was Mike Gendron. For over 30 years, Mike was a devout Roman Catholic and was taught to rely upon the authority of the church. He followed the priests, the sacraments and was depending upon his own good works for salvation. However, in 1981 after attending an apologetics seminar called, 'Evidence for the Christian Faith' the Bible became his sole authority in all matters of faith. As he searched the Scriptures he was amazed to see how often the Bible contradicts the teaching and tradition of the church he had been a part of for so long. Mike placed his trust in Jesus Christ as Savior and the Bible became his sole authority in all matters of faith. He founded a ministry, Proclaiming the Gospel that points people to Jesus Christ as the all-sufficient Savior. A video was recently released in which Pope Francis communicated his prayer intentions that clearly expressed his belief that all of the world's major religions are different paths to the same God. Mike noted that no one seeks after the true God yet there are many gods sought after by people. The are formed by religious traditions or even in the imaginations of men. The true God is revealed in Scripture and the only way to approach the true God is through Jesus Christ, the only mediator between God and man. Mike described true Christianity not as a religion but as a relationship with Jesus Christ. On the other hand, he described Catholicism as being no different from the other religions of the world in that it contains a works righteousness salvation formula that attempts to appease an all holy and righteous God. This means Catholicism and all other religions have a common spiritual bond. The Bible reveals a biblical unity. It's a sovereign work of the Holy Spirit, not of man and it demonstrates a common faith in the Gospel. On the other hand, the Pope is pushing for a false unity. It's a rebuilding of the religious Tower of Babel by bringing all people together under the power and influence of his papacy. One example comes from the Imam of the Mosque of Rome who is indicating that Pope Francis will be visiting the Grand Mosque of Rome the 27th of this month. Until now no Pope has visited this mosque which opened in 1995. If confirmed, this will be Pope Francis' 5th visit to this mosque. What does all of this signify? Is this part of the pathway to a global religion? You decide when you review this edition of Crosstalk.

Generic and Specific

In my article “Blasphemizing the Bible” (http://www.deceptioninthechurch.com/blasphemizingthebible.html) I give a number of examples of how a lot of modern Bible translation societies are putting the names of “supreme beings” in the Bible in the place of God or YHWH. In this article I'm going to examine two of the excuses they make for making those substitutions in the Bible in many hundreds of different languages today. 

(1) They claim that God has many different names and therefore they think they are justified in putting the names of various gods of various cultures in Bibles, as long as they are considered “supreme beings”. 

(2) The second excuse they give is that the names of the “gods” they are placing in the Bible are generic terms for God, like the words “God”, “Theos”, “Dios” and “Elohim”. By generic I mean a word that can be used for any deity whether of the one true God or other false gods who claim to be God. 

I will go through both of these excuses and show that they are both unbiblical, therefore the Bibles they have translated with names of other gods in them, or names they claim are generic, prove that they have “blasphemized” those Bibles.
